Vet Visit

We now have our vet visit dates. June 20th and June 21st. That means we have to go 2 days in a row with 9 pups each time. So one visit will be the 9 Spice pups and the next will be the Jeannie and Roxie pups. Then we start figuring out pups. We always wait till after the vet visit - sorry.

Here's a gallery.

Pups are starting to sleep longer at night. It has begun. More and more they are using the pad.

Windy Day

We had such windy weather then rain. We were excited to be out and then that flapping cover was - well what was that but we persisted and we got through and played.

Where did all the nice weather go?

Here's a gallery from the morning play.

Rain and More Rain

It's been a hardship to get the dogs outdoors when it is not raining. They just finished their last run upstairs and its after 8pm. Next will be when they go upstairs at 10pm. Nathan heads up to bed and Dennis cleans the pen. I do laundry and the dishes before I can get into bed otherwise Dennis would be up way too late. I crawl into bed at 11-11:30pm or later. Dennis is a bit later. Then the day starts again at 7am.

I get the fun of capturing and snuggling with each pup throughout the day. Some are very receptive to fill on up against your shoulder hugs. Some have things to do, places to be. I continue to test and have fun with them as I do.

Here are some videos to get you by.

Well....

4.5 hours later and not dried, we were done. I forgot we had to trim pads, bum etc. Did manage some photos but all wet. Without the dryers they don't fluff up as much as the usual.

Here's a gallery before, after etc.

I learned doing multiple dogs at once. It's a new experience for me. Nathan helped the pups when it came time to do pads and bum and a quick photo or 2 by holding them in place for me otherwise it was me doing the bathing, combing out etc.  Nathan did carry in a batch of pups in for me and back outside so they could dry each time. I can't imagine doing it entirely on my own.

How did the Jeannie pups do? Well they had too many bubbles as you will see in a quick photo I took. It was hard washing and clicking - believe me. Next time I ran the bathing beauty less time ahead of time creating less bubbles. Jeannie's had bubbles up to their ears. heh

But they did rather well considering.

Who Is Boss?

Outside Afternoon Play Gallery

Pups are going out 3 times a day and getting very excited but they don't seem to be lasting long. So we may be bringing out all 18 pups on the visit vs. splitting them up to 9 each play session per group. This way you can see them interact all together. At this stage if they last an hour, we are lucky. I usually take them out for a 30 minute session and then they are falling fast asleep - which is our indicator it is time to go inside.

Such Fun

The pups are really coming into their own. It's going to be a truly fun experience for everyone when they visit. This way you see them up close and personal. Then Sunday we rest or I head to the Farmers market on Yonge Street in Thornhill. I need some hanging baskets. We shall see. I just know I will need to play recovery after 21 baths (3 moms).  Nathan will need the same after cutting the nails. :-) Hoping for a warm but not hot weekend.

What Are You Doing?

We have so many fun things to do now. It makes such a huge difference when we have things to keep us busy. We are now going outside 3 times a day. This was our second visit outdoors. We are about to do another as soon as we wake up. Here's another gallery that is different than the one on the Spice's blog.

Here's a video of their afternoon play. We introduced a tunnel into the play area and it was a hit!

Fear Period

Pups seem to be in a fear period. Not sure why. They are early for this stage but we continue to expose. When dogs get into a fear stage you don't stop exposing. What you do is expose in small doses till its the new norm.

So we will do shorter exposures but more of them. It's a crazy amount of work to take care of these little gremlins needs but their hugs, licks and snuggles are something else!

Here's a gallery taken today.
