If you look at the videos upstairs linked on Cinnamon's page you will see how very excited Leti is to see her pups come upstairs. Plus you will see the gang chasing Nathan - yes...
The Leti pups are full of fun. We really do have an amazing 14, each with their own personalities. They embrace the play with the older crew without any hesitation. It is so nice!

Leti Crew that are with her love the crate. But Leti also does and that is probably why. all 4 get in there and sleep as a crew. Then when they wake up, they saunter out to the pad and go. Then it is time to eat.
They have food now and it is replenished each time they or their moms eat.
Each day they will go upstairs to play with the rest of the pups and the moms till we are assured they are eating, drinking and getting along with each other. Then the moms will come to bed with us and we will watch them - or I will watch them on my ipad and the moms do this too. It is a riot. They can hear them too.
They are starting to grow up.

Well, the pups are eating well. Dennis had them eating last night and we continued today. Output has increased. The introduction of food does that. This is not their 1st food but as you can see we have softened kibble, sprinkled with chicken and mousse. They LOVE it - all of them.
A couple tried the water. A couple said nah. We will continue to get them to realize the benefit. This is the 1st step of the road to no moms at night. We do this to enable them to make the transition of being comfortable with being independent of canine mom at times.
They will not go upstairs till they are eating food and water, they also have to be exposed with each other and getting along. Tomorrow we will start play together for 5 minutes at a time. They will also get exposure to upstairs. Exposures to new places can create stresses but that's the idea so they build their coping skills.

The pups are growing up. It is hard to get into the mindset that tomorrow they will be 4 weeks old and Raven's boy will be 3 weeks 1 day old.
The pups and Ms. Leti absolutely adore their bed and the crate. It's amazing to watch. They climb right up on the bed to get to her.
Can't wait till they are drinking water and playing upstairs. 14 running around. it's going to be a fun explosion of pups.

The Leti pups are just 2 days shy of trying to eat food. They tried it yesterday so the are 3 days ahead of schedule. That they ate steak and cheese and kibble yesterday, I wondered how their digestion would handle it but they were more than fine with solid stool.
Nathan treated the moms to Wendy's hamburgers and the pups thought yum! But I also started them on starter mousse and they rather enjoyed that. We only try this once in a day at the beginning as we want to see if they will have issues with digesting food. The pups here with Leti and her 2 with Raven seem to have a good digestion system.
In a couple of days if all goes well, we will regularly have food for them. They will still drink milk as water is the last thing they adjust to or want to have. It sometimes takes a bit but they are getting all their needs met through mom till they make the leap in a few weeks to mostly food.
They can not be without mom at night till they are drinking water. We do have them sleep without the moms to help them to make that leap of learning to sleep all night. That process takes a bit but it all comes together before they go home.

You will notice we introduced a crate and you can often see mom and pups inside. It's a riot as it is a small crate.

Cinnamon has a habit of stealing everyone's food now that their food is in the main area so today I put Leti's dish in the pen and Raven's in her pen. This little one didn't just eat but she licked it dry. What was in it? Steak, cheese and kibble. I guess this one is ready.

It's as if they were always out of the whelping boxes. No reaction. Just play and explore. That is a wonderful transition.
I have to find a crate so they can use one when they want.
Leti is wonderful with her pups. They want for nothing. Just like humans, each has their own style. It is quite interesting.

They are such a mega relaxed but fun crew. They love pillows and enjoy a good play session throughout the day.

The pups are playing, walking and perfecting their skills. It is amazing to watch.
They now have a new area outside of the whelping box. We set it up today and you should watch the videos. No one and I mean no one showed any concern in being in a new environment.
They are full out playing now with each other and it is ever so cute. In about a week we will put Raven and Leti's pups together in the same xpen and then we wil merge the Cinnamon pups. It is going to be a truly fun journey!

They are really walking around and it is ever so cute.
Tomorrow, if I can muster some time, I will take them out of the whelping box. The gal with Raven is almost making it out. I guess it is time.
When the whelping boxes come out, the cleanup is greater. I do about 6 loads a day as they learn to use pads. The next thing after this stage is seeing when I can merge them together. It will depend on Raven's boy. We shall see.
