13 Days Old

Pups are 13 days old tonight. They are almost 2 weeks. Can you believe?

Pups had their nails done as they were getting stuck on everything. Here is the gallery.

We are on eyes open watch. They are active. They are doing a decent job at trying to walk. They are something else but as we know, Spirit is an amazing agile pup. She can sail through the air from  one point to another without a mistake. Leti does the same. I am in awe at their ability.

12 Days Old

Pups are 12 days old tonight. This means that anytime from now till day 21 they can open their eyes. Yes, we had one that waited till 3 weeks old. It doesn't mean anything if they open early or later.

When they first open their eyes their eyesight is blurry. It takes 24 to 48 hours till they gain clarity. But they can see better than eyes closed. :-)

Exciting times are about to arrive. After their eyes open - about 2 to 3 days after they start trying to interact with each other. It will be more exciting that you watching them eat or sleep, I imagine. I find all of it fun to watch!

11 Days Old

The pups are now 11 days old. Already a couple are getting up on their legs to take a few steps then rest and then try it again. All of this without their eyes open yet. They are curious pups as you can get down low and hear them sniffing. They are using that sense to see what is around them. It's interesting.

As you can see they are pretty consistent on their weight gain. They were lively right from the start.

10 Days Old

The pups are 10 days old now. Can you believe it? I see them trying to get up on their legs. I can't wait till their eyes open.

Leti is an amazing mom. She is so proud of her babies. I so miss her sleeping with me. But when I come downstairs she gets so excited to see me. What a great way to start your day!

9 Days Old

These pups love to snuggle with each other. It's quite nice to watch them. They are already trying to get up on their legs and Leti has tried feeding them sitting up. LOL

I am now weighing them once a day. They are gaining consistently and are getting a round body. They are active and strong.

8 Days Old

Leti just so loves her pups. Leti is now eating without having to give her a variety and having her pick one. New moms can be quite difficult till the pups are eating so much they go okay, I will eat that. I guess I used to like that. We offer her mousse, fresh chicken, steak and on and on.

Pups now have voices. If they want mom, squeak and she comes running.

I now can groom her as she allows them to sleep now. Before it was feed them all the time. Now she can rest too.

Pups are gorgeous!!

1 Week Old

The pups are now 1 full week old. Momma Leti now sleeps outside the box watching them. If they squeak she comes in faster than lightening.

6 Days Old

Pups are ever so cute. Leti now sleeps outside of the xpen after feeding them as they are sleeping for a larger window. If they are hungry, they let her know.

I finally got Nathan to hold the pups for photos. It's been comical trying to do it all myself.

5 Days Old

I find these pups to be active. Leti is interesting. She is already getting them to crawl to her. She is making them use their muscles to get strength.

It is hard to believe that the pups are already 5 days old. They range from 7.5oz to 9 plus ounces. The smallest is not the smallest at birth. The largest remains the largest. They are so close in size, I do not see any difference now. They have all become pups of substance with round tummies. Some are gaining a full ounce in 24 hours and some 6/8 oz. It changes up.

Poor Dennis has been a basket case. As he does night duty he has had to not sleep during the day as he watches the dogs while we have pups depart. He is now trying to sleep till 10pm. But due to this he is falling asleep during the night. Pups are still gaining and doing well. If they were not I would be doing the night duty. These pups are active and finding their milk slot even if it means pushing a sibling over. good one, little ones.

As I type, Nathan is outside with all the dogs trying to keep it quiet so Dennis can sleep. He has this schedule till the last goes home with breaks. 

Tomorrow he can sleep till 2 as our only pup departing goes home at 3pm. I get to watch pups and do 5 dogs. Thank you cameras. Even if I have to stop to put a puppy on, I have the ability to watch and I do as I groom. 

The pups allow me to hold them without squirming. they seem to be trusting souls. They still squirm in the scale but in my hands they seem to sink in as if to say ahhhh....

4 Days Old

I tried taking photos when I was weighing the cuties tonight. It is always an adventure as they love moving like crazy.

The black, white and tan boy is still the largest but the smallest - the chocolate is gaining quite well. 

I can't believe they are already 4 days old tonight.

I hold them many times a day to get them used to touch.
