Soon to Be 3 Days Old

Okay, I think I screwed up. You tell me. I tried to take a photo of each puppy but I think I took a photo of one twice and missed one. Trying to do this myself is interesting. I will try again tomorrow and literally take all pups out and do one at a time.

These pups are very active and its easy to get it wrong but I vow to get it better. LOL

Mom and pups are doing really well. 

2 Days Old

I change the bedding twice a day or as needed. I found this bed on the Markham marketplace on Facebook and had to get it. It's a pineapple that looks incredibly soft. I thought while I was changing the bedding, I would put the pups into this soft bed giving me the opportunity to change everything out easily. Well, Leti climbed right in with them and this is a small bed.

Then I took each and place them back in the whelping box and she stayed in the bed for a couple of minutes and then went oh, let's look where my pups are.

Pups are gaining. Most times they find a milk slot themselves. Leti continues to be picky with eating.

24 Hours Old

Oh Leti - she has 6 bowls of a variety of food and she says nah. In this photo is dehydrated chicken. She ate some and then said no more. It may be that her tummy is a bit upset. But pups are happy. Mom seems to be very happy with them.

Leti Less Than a Day

Click on Photo for Larger ViewLeti and pups are doing well. Pups are either holding weight or slightly gaining. Leti's milk has started to come in. I can squeeze and see it now. It is interesting as Ella and Cinnamon's milk was present before birth but Leti was a day earlier than her 1st due date. LOL

She is an amazing mom. 

Getting her to eat is interesting. So far she only likes mousse. 

Update on Leti

Mom and pups are doing well. The more I look, the more I believe we have a chocolate pup. 

Leti is eating and drinking. Her pups have output so their body functions are working. Leti is a great mom and is always loving them up. So far they seem to find the milk source. I have only had to help the odd one here and there. 

I am up late. Hoping I can get to bed by midnight. Dennis is doing night duty but he is cleaning floors and taking a shower. I am it till he is done. Then he goes to sleep at 7am till about 2 or 3. except on the days pups are going home. Then he wakes up for departures and goes back to bed after departures. Nathan is already ion bed and not sure he is going to be able top take his naps till pups are older. Life changes but I hope I get a pool break every now and then.

6th one is a boy. He was born at 628pm. This is the lightest red sable, I believe. He weighs 5oz 143g

Nesting

Yep - she is nesting. Still refusing to eat - which is normal just before. 

It's been a crazy day so blogs will be short. It may be an early or late night. LOL

Jumped in the pool figuring it was my last time for a bit and the sky opened up so there goes that idea. LOL

Update: Temp Drop

No meals today. Looking for a place to nest. I have not taken her temps. I will when she wakes up from a nap.

I am feverishly doing dogs ahead of time - so dogs going home in the morning are getting done tonight. Only other alternative is to not do them so.... I will freshen and comb them out tomorrow.

Time to get ready but this may be nothing but this is what I go through when I have groomings and a mother to be.

I am not ready. But it's time to get ready, I suppose.

Taking a break from grooming so I can eat.

Just finished grooming visitors. Mine can wait. Heading to the pool for 10 minutes. Her temps have dropped to 98.0

Due Dates

Last possible due date is August 12th - oh boy. First due date is August 7th. Oh boy - not.

Xray August 3rd. We shall see how many. Got to get things set up with no room. Ought to be interesting.
