4 Days Old

Pups are all gaining. Roxie is feeding too frequently. I am contemplating on what I should do about it. They are growing at the rate of Spice's. I am constantly making sure all 6 are on and I timed it and it was every 45 minutes or so. They need to sleep for at least an hour and a half to a couple of hours at this stage. Here's a gallery to look at.

Her littlest one is now 6 ounces as of this morning. Spices littlest is 6.5 ounces. Roxie's started out larger than Spice's smallest. Factor in the age, they are on a similar track - which is a good one.

Telling the pups apart is interesting. I can but I really have to look. The black tri already has colour bleeding through. One of the boys has a blaze on his chest. Roxie remains ever so attentive. Want to give her a bath but it will have to wait. I also have to check with the vet on when Spice is able to have hers.

It's going to be so difficult to tell these guys apart in the videos, especially when they are up and running around!

I must say that I love the colours of Roxie's pups. Given that my husband's hair was red (back in the day :) and my son is also a red-head I guess I am partial to gingers. There really is a challenge in telling her pups apart though, as you say, Darlah. They are all beautiful. I love the video of Roxie looking in. Like all of the moms, she is so very attentive and you can see the pride in her eyes. Lovely.
Thanks again for sharing this with us, Darlah.
