8 Week Visit

It was a great 8 week visit. Tomorrow is the vet visit and I have a ton to get ready for that. What a wild ride this has been. Just a few more weeks and they will be gone. As you can see there is a significant difference even more pronounced with the Roxie puppies since the last visit 2 weeks ago.

Here is the video of the visit. Here is also another video of their play before the visit. Yes, they had a nap before you came.

Such Fun

We LOVE this activity cnter and you know you could make one yourself with pvc pipes and a drill and ties etc. The best part about this is if they got bored we could change it all out with different toys etc.

The pups are having a really great time. They seem to be equal in their ability to play and climb and do all the things they should be doing at this stage.

Quick Update

I am still not well so I am going to throw a gallery up here and a video on Adele's page. I hope you don't mind.

Pups are getting out plenty. We have now started taking them into the tv room one on one with the other dogs. They seem curious but not nervous. They are still learning bit inhibition. This is why it is critical that they stay till 10 weeks. They bite, someone says oh loud and stops the play (human or sibling) and they start learning to have a soft mouth. It's a normal learning process but it happens now.

The pups are really doing well.

Getting Older

It is really amazing how the Roxie pups are now playing catchup with the Adele pups. It happens. It has been an interesting journey watching them play catchup. 8 days does make a difference.

The pups all run around as if they own the place lately. They LOVE the play. I love watching the play.

Here are some videos.

Running Over Pads With Divider

No More Divider
We had to remove the divider as we found they were racing down and over the pads and that wasn't somethinng we wanted. You adjust and change things depending on the needs of thge pups.

Crew and Early PLay

Wrestle Match and Pad Ripper
We now have some pad rippers. How do we handle it? We spray the pads with Benefect. They still use it but it stops them shredding.

We Survived

We made it through the first night upstairs with the Adele crew. Human Momma missed it as she had to crawl into bed but I made sure the guys took photos and videos. I have never missed a milestone but I have to get well. Pups are now together day and night and we had to rearrange the pen as they were using inappropriate areas for their output. By putting the food at one end, the pads inbetween so no matter where they are they have access to the pads quickly, the pads are getting used again. Sometimes you have to think the process through to understand what is going on.

We have a divider up partially as a deterrance for that reason. Once they have no mistakes we will try without the divider.

Here's a gallery of them upstairs and downstairs. Adele pups included.

Hmm Somethings Not Right

Look who is sitting in among the Adele crew. Today we decided to merge the 2 litters together and tonight will be their very first time upstairs with the Adele crew. Life is changing. They are growing up. 8 more days and we head to the vets. Wow it goes by too fast.

How did they do merged? Well it is funny as these two crews haven't reacted to anything but they all whimpered a tad lost in this huge xpen not knowing where their beds are and where those puppies beds are. It wasn't just the Roxie pups but all the Adeles. The whimpering stopped as fast as it came. It was a new change and I was starting to wonder what would get them kicking those coping skills in gear. They need to be exposed to things that force them to cultivate their coping skills in small doses. The more you do, the better it pays off. They are now all on each others side as if they are one litter. It all happened fast.

It's like going to a party, not knowing where you fit in and suddenly you feel at home. When it all comes together, it is a good thing.

Nathan also came home one day early - a surprise as he knew I was sick - I am still sick. He combed out dogs - some. He let me nap and well the dogs were besides themselves and the puppies too. You will see the puppies in video.

Here are some videos taken today.

Changing Looks

As you can see colour is bleeding through on the browns. They are also more able to fend off the older crew. Next week we may try them all together. We shall see. Here is a gallery from today.

Pups are coming out now many times a day. They adore their play session. Check out the video on Adele's blog. No videos here today. I am rather spent.
