Late Tonight Two Days Old

Pups will turn 2 full days old late tonight. They are doing really well. Saffron was restless last night but she's doing well this day. I think she wants me with her 24/7. She lights up when she sees me. Must be those magical massages.

With Nathan and Dennis they are the expert feeders and she needs to be coaxed at times.

I will tell you all the pups since birth have gained over an ounce. Bravo little ones.

I will also tell you that once again she has great pups as they eat and then they sleep. She can sit in my lap on the couch, get groomed, cuddled and well they are sleeping. They make a noise and she goes running. I am so happy as a balanced mom makes for a happy mom. It's hard to gain balance when its all about the pups and not you the mom.

Here is the gallery.

They are strong. They move to find mom without issue. Tomorrow was when I was expecting pups and there goes Saffron with her own timeline in mind.

I look at her pups and go where is the black and white?

Watch Jeannie and Truffie produce black and whites - now that would be something.

Honestly, doesn't it just go like that? I thought I ideally wanted a black and white puppy and Ripley's mom never had anything else but in her previous litters. Then his litter, not one black and white out of six! But somehow, you just get the dog meant for you anyway. Funny how things work out if you just let them.

It must be so cute when she lights up to see you! All the pups got the color genes from Stone? And how does Saffy learn how to be balanced mom? Was she just a naturel in being a mom? Darlah,!i hope you are getting some rest last night.

She was like this her last litter. She's lucky as the pups sleep between feedings. They will grow more that way and she gets rest between.

Spice always had a sable, her mother too. Her great grandmother was a brindle. when you pull the colours in from both sides, you are more apt to produce what she is doing. I am not breeding Stone for colour. Do want a black and white.

I can't believe what happened. I rarely miss one night of your blog and now I missed 3 and look what happens. believe I missed everything. What beautiful pups. And all girls. amazing!, Saffy's such a caring Mom. I remember her last litter. Darlah sounds like this was heavy duty for all of you. Hope things are back on the rails. How wonderful. I love these sweet little things. Wow!!!

Love your stories about Saffie and her pups. Makes me feel connected to all that is happening with the pups @ Talemaker. It would have been nice if Saffie had produced a pup that looked like her and her Mom sweet Spicey. Saffie is young there will be another time.

I love the black and white colouring. That said, no question, they're all beautiful. Brindle used to be my favourite, but now I'm the biggest fan of black and white.....could Sadie have changed my mind?!?!

I would like to retain the black and whites. With so many dilutes it will lose the richness with the black and whites if we do not breed black and whites to dilutes. I find the black and whites striking and its certainly what is noticed in the show ring.

sadie is a beauty inside and out.
