Less Than 12 Hours Old

It's less than 12 hours. Pups are lively. They are holding weight or very slightly losing - .01grams which is normal. They may eat before you weigh or eliminate which affects so we don't take weight serious for a day or so unless there is more than a minimal loss. Mom does have milk. Pups are eating. They are lively and there were no complications during delivery.

Here is a small gallery.

After mom delivers, I wash her back end and then dry her. She won't get a bath till the pups are 2 to 3 weeks. She will get groomed daily. I will use waterless shampoo but mom, at this stage can't be away from the pups for as long as it would take to do a full bath. So a full bath waits.

Saffron is happy and tired. She is confident that pups are doing well as she leaves the xpen to go outside to do her duties and to eat and drink. They are sleeping in-between feedings. These are all signs that pups are doing well.

Be sure to check out the videos.

UPDATE 230PM - all pups are gaining. This is under 1 day old. They are rather funny. They make noises till she lets down the milk. I even hear them smacking their lips. Such characters.

Saffron is such a natural and her pups are all so beautiful! I hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter and grandaughters - I know how hard you will find it breaking away but you need and deserve the break.
It's easier and faster to drive to Fonthill late Thursday than early Friday morning so the pups and I were up late. The fence posts are going in this morning ... YEAH, next weekend the two can run more freely in the backyard ... at least until they start building the pool. My closing is now set for May 1 - hope you and Nathan are up to having them with you a few days a week until I finish work June 30. We can connect when you get back and are more rested.

Hard time concentrating at work, keep sneaking short breaks to look at puppy pictures and videos. Saffron looks so relaxed with her pups, amazing after a night of hard work!

I cannot stop looking at them. Now, Saffron has 6 beauties to love and care for. She is a great mommy. Max says the first boy's picture means: " I do surrender to the girls ". :)

I think Saffron was born to be a mom. She always appears so incredibly with her puppies, relatively easy labour (here you go, lets pop one out while we're walking down the stairs and how about as I jump on your lap), not to mention she is obviously set on getting pregnant whether you were planning on breeding her or not. :)

As supposed to say incredibly RELAXED
