Eyes Open: Nails Clipped

This is the tri gal. She had her nails clipped and she has her eyes open.

This is the brown sable and cream. She has her eyes open and her nails clipped.

This gal has her eyes open and her nails clipped. She reminds me of #2 of Misty's as she has that terminal smile more often than not. I find that highly pleasing!

All of them have their eyes open. I placed in a few toys. They all weigh over a pound.

This is the gallery.

They are doing really well. Momma Sage is eating like she is feeding 20. LOL

Be sure to check out the videos.

11 Days Old: Could Eyes Open Soon

Well, Sage has decided she is going to sit up and feed. What a riot! She needs to lay down some as it is impossible to get to the top milkstations.

Here is the gallery.

I do believe the brindle has squinty eyes where you can see them just starting to open. Tonight or tomorrow, I am sure they will be fully open. Have not noticed the others yet. Exciting times coming when they can see. The eyes are blurry for a few days, clearing each day. As soon as eyes open I will start adding toys.

Be sure to watch the videos.

Eat, Sleep and Some Interaction

Today one of the pups attempted to get up its legs. You will have to watch the videos to see which.

They sleep for a significant part of the day at this age. As they get older, they sleep less but they do sleep a good portion of the day even after they go home. Age creates more waking hours. Sleep is good for growth and development.

Here is today's gallery. I will be adding more through the day.

Pups are doing well as you will see in the videos.

9 Days Old

Fat and plump, they are. Doesn't seem to me that they are 9 days old already. They find the milkbar without issue. Sage and Spirit are such small gals but they must have a ton of milk as they are all plump.

Here is the gallery.

Sage is mighty curious about Spirit's pups. Spirit is not impressed. She si still in protective mode and I get that. Nothing serious. Sage persists. Spirit tells her no.

Sage's pups if one is not on when mom is in teh whelping box makes sure she knows by saying I smell you but you are not here. It's a riot.

The pups are doing well.

The videos are up. I am running out of steam but trying not to.

8 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

Sage is a tad jealous that I am spending time with Spirit as well but settles in as I hug her, oooh and ahhh about her pups and they deserve it. It's easy to enjoy!

The videos can be found here.

Pups are plump and moving and enjoying different textures.

5 Days Tonight

Soon this crew will be 5 days and then a week in a couple of days.

Here is the gallery.

Poor Sage yesterday had very loose stools so much so she went running and would not eat. She fed the babies and they gained but she didn't complain one bit.

I gave her one dose of tylan powder which is not an issue for the pups and she was back eating last night and today. After giving birth, this often happens. Most times it takes several doses but no issues today and she is back to being her perky self.

Some of the videos are already up.

Each day when I get up, I change the blankets, weigh the pups, comb or brush out Sage as the pups wreck havoc with her hair. I then give her new fresh water and food. There is comfort in a routine.

Sage and I have one on one time with massages, cuddles and telling her how great she is and she truly is. It's a lot of work being a dog mom. So, balance is important.

4 Days Tonight

Pups are heading towards 4 days tonight. They want for nothing. Sage remains thrilled.

Here is the gallery.

I most likely will add more later. I have dogs to groom and lots to do so I am trying to get things done as I can. Videos are also up and I will add to that later as well.

Sage is getting picky about food and wants to be hand fed at times. I so laugh.

Today they are pretty in pink.
