3 Days Old

The pups are doing well. It is a struggle to get Ms Spirit to eat but it always is. Dennis did get to eat mousse last night as you will see in a video.

It is hard to believe they are 3 days old and we are on watch for Tempie's pups. To be honest, I have not recovered yet due to groomings and pups departing and poor Dennis will only get 2.5 hours sleep before Ollie departs then back to bed after he departs. No nap for Nathan yet again.

I did upload videos. One shows what we have to do to get Momma Princess to eat and she does this always.

The weights are good and actually much more than usual at this stage in the last 24 hours. Usually they are approx 6/6 oz slightly up or down at 3 days. Mom has milk and pups are doted on. They do find their way to mom more times than not. 

As you can see the boy was growing at a slightly faster rate than the girl. Quite normal.

What is the difference? One has a cream streak in their chest and the other not. 

2 Days Old

Pups want for nothing. Mom does get out of her whelping box to jump on the couch or recliner. eat a bit. Mostly she wants to be indulged.

Pups both gained nicely since last night. Boy is gaining faster than gal but not by much. They are lively. They sleep well between so they are getting their tummies full.

I will be adding some videos in a bit.

Only 2 days. No wonder I stil feel tired. Got puppies to wash and adult dogs so best get moving.

Day and a Half Old

Spooning duo. Spirit is doting. They are gaining in small increments which is normal.

I forgot to weigh the pups last night. I blame it on exhaustion. Didn't take photos last night either. But I also had to groom adult dogs so... my excuse.

I did weigh them this morning not being able to find their chart. I since found it. They both slightly gained. usually they lose that first 48 hours.

I attempted to brush Spirit but she is not ready. She is still in I can't be away from my babies mom mode. She has no knots so no biggie. She just looks messy. So, I will leave her be.

Both pups have brown on their pads and they now look just like each other. I suspect both are chocolates like Rebel. 

Spirit is an amazing mom. She's being picky about eating though. This is typical for her.

Spirit

Spirit is doing wonderful. I am playing catch-up with blogs and i have to adults to do full grooms to. She's 6 plus hours into it. She is coveting her pups as they are exposed so we are redoing the room tonight to be setup for Spirit and Tempie. The pups are coming out to the general population. Will I get Tempie's area done? Not a chance but maybe tomorrow.

She had NO milk when the pups arrived. After calcium squirt (a gel) and some food in her, the milk let down. She has milk - hooray. She is always attentive to her pups and is so in love wit them. 

I delivered the 1st and Nathan the 2nd. Both are in great shape - no issues.

Sherry made this blanket for the pups so they had something brand new. It's quite lovely. Thank you!

Dennis will be up with the pups tonight. I sorely need sleep.
