Meelo Update
Meelo had his vet visit today and now has his second set of shots. He fell asleep on the table and didn't make a peep. He is now 7lb 3.5 oz. He is a good car traveler.
Poor Stormy cried at the door. Think we are going to get her involved with the Cinnamon pups too. We are all falling but we all have to let go.

Ollie had his second shot yesterday and we ran into Gucci at the vet! He wasn’t phased by the needle but he came home and slept for hours. When he woke up if we tried to touch him he yelped. It was heart breaking. That lasted till about 8pm and then he was totally fine. Hyper playing running we could touch him
And pick him up etc. Then he crashed again out cold about an hour later and slept all night long. Today he is totally back to normal. No pain. No unusual fatigue. He weighs 5.8 pounds and he weighed 5.5 at last weeks vet appt for the ‘meet n greet’.
Often the pain from a vaccination is the way the needle went in or the dog moved. We used to have pups that were sore for 24 plus hours but noticed when we had someone that did shots for many, many years with experience how to avoid soreness, the pups no longer were sore. It does exhaust them.
We took Meelo in as he would have been late for his next shot. This way he can return to classes. He already had a puppy class and did really well, I hear.
Glad Ollie is doing well.
I am going to weigh Meelo again as he is a little thing so him being heavier is interesting. He does like to eat..
Thanks so much for taking Meelo for his second shot. Glad to hear that he likes the car as our first Havanese Swiper did not. I feel sad for Stormy but we will definitely be coming by for visits!! I cannot wait for Saturday to get here.
Yeah, I feel bad for Stormy as she will go through it again but she will be fine. She will look forward to the visits and perhaps one in summer to see if he is a swimmer. :-)
I am quite pleased that you are excited!
Definitely in the summer as I am also anxious to see if he is a swimmer!
It was the incredible Dr Huges herself that gave Ollie his vaccination, not a vet tech. He didn’t move either he stayed still like nothing was even happening. He may just be more sensitive :)
He shouldn't be sore. He was not sore for his first vaccine. Not being critical. It can happen but I find it is usually is not vaccine sensitive if he didn't have a reaction the 1st time. How was Gucci? Any reaction?
She didn’t see dr Huges she was in a different examination room. I don’t have the other rochelles contact info. Maybe she will see this and answer. I know ozzy was sore and yelped after too. Both recovered very very fast and were as good as new. He was only sore from 1-5 pm. If I didn’t try and pick him up I wouldnt have known. Was he picked up a couple hours after his injection first time around? Maybe they all just slept in that window or maybe he was less muscle at that age and it hurt less. Who knows.
Charlie weighed 5 lbs at his vet visit when he had the shot. He didn't cry at all and was absolutely fine after the shot. Really didn't sleep that much after as well. He was like a fire cracker this morning. Running around and wanting to play and of course attacking us as we walked. He is really sweet and is not phased at all in meeting new people. He came with me to my Pilates class last night and he was a big hit. Darlah there have already been 2 people asking for your name.
