New Scenery

Treasure and Roxie had a blast at Benji's house. Check out the photos on Fiona's blog.

Now I want Benji to visit during the summer so he can get used to all that water they have surrounding them. He needs conditioning, you know. hahahaha

The crew that came with us crashed fast asleep after getting home.

Me, I am off to clean up Logan as he goes home in a couple of hours and you don't come to visit here and just hang out, you play and muck it up and have so much fun that sometimes you need a cleanup.

To our Chinese puppy people and our friends that don't yet have a havanese, Happy New Year.

The key to the Dragon personality is that Dragons are the free spirits of the Zodiac. Conformation is a Dragon's curse. Rules and regulations are made for other people. Restrictions blow out the creative spark that is ready to flame into life. Dragons must be free and uninhibited. The Dragon is a beautiful creature, colorful and flamboyant. An extroverted bundle of energy, gifted and utterly irrepressible, everything Dragons do is on a grand scale - big ideas, ornate gestures, extreme ambitions.

I know some Havanese that would fit that description at least in their own minds.

Well doesn't the above sound like the personality of the Havanese?! I suppose it describes the free spiritedness of all dogs . . . . that's what I want to come back as. :-)

Love all the pictures on Fiona's site and this one. So much fun to see all the Havanese together and hear how the pups are settling in. Benji is adorable and has such a loving family. It is so much fun to watch them run and run without boundaries.

That is the same as the cottage, especially right now, we were up this weekend and Breeze and Chinook had a great time running on the snowy beach and then up and down the road as we were the only ones up there!

It is a crazy winter though, snow then rain, etc.....which do we prefer, i think snow rather than mud!

Oh Shelley I agree. I want snow vs. mud and they say tomorrow rain and plus 8 and I am supposed to be washing dogs. I swear it's a conspiracy. I still want to get to your cottage. argh.... to see Breeze and Chinook running in the wind on the snowy beach would be fun. Why can't you have a cottage closer to us. hahahahaha

You know you are welcome anytime but you better come up this spring....LOL, or we are going to have words! It is only about 2 hours depending on traffic the back way, and you have to come and stay the night with some of the crew. The winter is okay, but spring and summer are the best and the fall can be too, but to have the beach to ourselves is better in spring and fall.

i will be praying for snow with you Darlah! Chinook so takes after his name as loves to burrow in the snow and comes in with such a snowy muzzle, he just loves being outside. Breeze loves it too, but she is such a sun girl and if their is sun she will find it and bask in it.

It's raining here today and I must wash Kat as Delilah is coming. It's not that he is dirty but during mating you want then very clean. Baths and rain don't match. I also have to wash Truffie. &^%$# rain!

I agree. The rain is awful. Colby does not like the rain but loves loves loves the snow. He loves to run and burrow in it and eat snow. You would think he is like a husky and not from sunny Cuba. LOL Hope the rain stops soon. It has ruined the back yard for Colby. Can't wait till he has his companion to run around with !!!! It will be soo much fun running around with two of them. :)

Darlah, I feel for you having to bath and keep them clean in this rain and mud/dirt. Our duo are used to the towel every time they come in, but like when we don't need it.
Honestly you are amazing as having all of them coming in and out and keeping up is a full time job! You should get a raise :)

Jane, it sounds like you are adding another Talemaker Havanese to your family? Colby, you and your family will think it is just the best decision ever. We can't imagine now just watching one as having the two of them is just double the loves, the fun and the entertainment they provide, and their playing and antics are "Priceless"!

Shelley: It's an experience. If I shaved my dogs down like others do but I do like the long hair.

Darlah, I love the long silky hair too, and watching it flow when they run and play. And they are so cuddly. The grooming for two is easy as they are so used to it daily and I find it relaxing as they enjoy it. And of course with you letting me know all the right brushes, combs, grooming sprays etc to use it makes it so much easier.!

Shelley, Al, Breeze and Chinock

Yes We are getting a second Havanese. The first was from a different breeder. After finding Dariah's website, I know I had to have another. Colby was not socialized as much as these puppies are and you can see the difference. I can't wait to have a second one for all the reasons you stated. I think Colby will benefit from having a buddy.

Congratulations Jane and family. We agree you couldn't find better breeders and we are thankful for the internet as that is how we found Talemaker also, and followed their site and were so happy to become a part of the Talemaker family. We first got Breeze and after having her and seeing how amazing the Havanese are, and from being at Talemaker and watching the interaction and play between the Havanese we decided to add another to our family and Chinook joined us, and we are just soooo happy. Everyday is full of fun with our duo!

We will look forward to watching your journey also!
