Cold Play

Working on a photo gallery of the play today. Just finished washing the Kona and found his coat really looks good using the new Pure Paws Shampoo and Conditioner combo. He really has a multitude of colours in his coat - nice!

This way in 2 weeks when he sees mom he can look beautiful. :-)

Gallery is now here. Kona - just cleaned photos tomorrow. ;-)

Things to notice - Spice is full out playing now - back to being her crazy usual self more and more.

Kona is playing with boys and girls. You can't see it but he covets the frisbee and tries to intimidate the others away from it. This is a Treasure and Jeannie manuever so we are working on all 3 to not covet - just play.

Kona can jump up in the air and grab a piece of popcorn the highest I have ever seen. Nathan has a habit of doing this with Terra with popcorn or treats - helping her perfect her mid-air catches and Terra has looked so confused when Kona gets to it first. Kona is so fast!

Yes Kona does have a problem with coveting his toys.
Regarding the popcorn, I think Kona will do anything for treats.
Kona needs to respect his elders, poor Terra stealing her popcorn.
Give him a hug for me.

Oh Kathy do not be hard on Kona. Treasure and Jeannie do it too. I post this to tell everyone that this is normal behavior that can be worked on. Its what we are doing with 3. It can come up at anytime but especially when you have multiple dogs. If they really like something like Kona loves the frisbee then you have to redirect and teach them that it is more fun playing vs. stopping the play by coveting. The play stops when coveting and that dog is taken out of the play and held to just watch and then tried again. It works.

Don't feel bad for Terra - she is a golden and just lets it roll off her back but we always makes sure she gets. She is a submissive and would give up her food to anyone who will take it. We teach boundaries when eating too and it works. We feed all at once. Rules, boundaries and consistency.....

I think it is wonderful to watch Kona playing and not just with one as he first did but with many. He crashes each night from a full day of play and eats with gusto. Gad that dog eats like Treasure so we put a ball in his bowl and that slows him down. :-)

What is the little one in the middle doing? It looks like he is telling the 'bigggggggggg fishhhh' tale.

That is Boo and he always puts his body in such funny positions. I just love capturing him in action.
