Oh how lucky you are to have so much love around. Love the pictures. I still think 3 is a good number, if only I could convince Mark. LOL
Was that Kona taking a nap on top of Nathan ?
Was that Thin line napping with Nathan & Kona ?
One pix loooks like Dusty and "Thin line " napping with Nathan
Jane, 3 is not just a good number, it's a GREAT number!
Kathy: Just added the names to each photo. As you can see Kona settles in and snuggles right with the pups these days.
Re: gender - its more about personality.
Just figured you can see we do have downtime snuggling and watching TV. The dogs LOVE the TV room. It's really dog friendly with tons of blankets, couches that they walk back and forth between as a super sized crate with bedding and blankets is on top between them. We play, we rest and crash and play again.
I am hoping Nora is doing well.
Steven: I think so too but I am a crazy dawg person - what is YOUR excuse?
Darlah, I'm just needy, and our dogs are my therapy.
Steven I admire your courage and energy to have 3 Havanese. Having met them all
I think you have a great crew. You and your wife get lots of hugs from them, I am sure..
The dawgs are my therapy too in a huge way!
My Therapy as well. They have gotten me through some very tough days. No matter how bad you feel, they still make you smile and laugh.
I love the photo of Treasure yawning.
Wonder if we will ever have three. We are crazy too but I'm not sure we are that crazy. LOL
Lori: I think the 2 is a perfect match for you both and for Scruffy at least for now. Plus they come here and visit and play with others - perfect life, imho.
It is so funny how things unfold and it has to be for a reason. Nathan had me in a funk yesterday. Started exercising cause I need it and it's good for body and mind. He reminded me he wanted to keep one from this litter and I said it all unfolded the way it should as its not about us but the pups and I do believe that truly. Besides we can't keep them all and Dusty needs to be the focus - one at a time. But it feels like %^$& to be the bad guy once again. You can't do this and keep them all. Besides if with Fiona's litter we get a Truffie gal then we planned to keep that. One has to be sane. I LOVE the fit with the multiple homes. I took great care to get it right. It matters greatly to me despite my own desires. Sometimes it means letting go of show potentials into pet homes and some breeders may not do that but at the end of the day, after you see them again you know it was the right thing for the pups. I love the pups so much. I live and breathe them even more than Nathan. He does the play when they get older. I do the work from day 1 getting to know them so well. I find them fascinating from the moment they are born all the way through. I see the minute reactions to touch that I wouldn't miss for the world. They deserve the best and I am happy with all the homes - the journey they are on. It doesn't mean I don't miss them. I do. It is also not fair to expose my feelings as its just a normal process without the intention to make anyone feel bad. But I love them enough to let them go and have a great life.
Sorry for the ranting but I may have to kill the hubby as he needs to get that too. He is seen as the softie - me as the hard one but you know I am not. I just carry the load as I have to.
I think 2 is a perfect match for Scruffy. Why? She compliments him. They will be like Panda and Logan. They love the play with others but they will love and take care of each other always. To me, that is very special.
Steven will tell you with 3 it took a bit longer for the dynamics to unfold. For the longest time they couldn't figure out who was alpha and they found their relationship and actually appear to each have their own strengths bonding with each other. His 3 works. The fit does matter. Raylan was a good addition to his duo as I thought it would be. I am glad he has Raylan as I get to see him. The hard ones for me is the ones I do not see. Once they depart its not a out of sight out of mind. I carry them all in my heart always. They each make me a better person.
Darlah, I hope the updates and video are helpful to you and Nathan. I know it's hard to let go but I hope when you see and hear they are doing well, it helps make letting go a bit easier.
Hey Darlah:
If you let me have ten more, I'll make sure you get to see them regularly!
muhahahaha
They make us both smile seeing them. It DOES make me feel as if its all worth it. I think Alene needs to get another chew stick for Shady though. ;-) Miss bossy pants won the stick.
Steven:
You are ever so funny!
Gerda: Adding to your two was more difficult as I had to listen to your perception of your dogs, trust that you knew them really well vs. assuming you knew the dynamics and get the right fit. It worked and I am so glad. Tre is a wonderful boy. He had Ms. Abs heart.
First , Steve stole my line about having more.... OK so he has a little advantage being closer but hey, Tre and I are looking at the dates of the 2013 picnic.. just sayin..
It was a little nerve wracking for me adding Tre, as I would have loved to been able to bring my two to meet the pups first. I was able to do that with Cali when I got Kizmet as she was only 3 hours away. I put my faith in being as open and honest about my dogs as I could and my confidence in you and Nathan to make the right decision. It went pretty much as I thought with extra work being required between Kiz and Tre, but the rewards are huge as those 2 play and wrestle constantly. Cali being older (8 vs 4) tends to avoid the wrestling and puts on her best 'oh those kids' expression, but likes it when we can all snuggle together. Tre is a wonderful boy and is convinced the whole world loves him.. and really why wouldn't they!
Gerda, why indeed , Tre is a charming little boy. Havanese seem to have that affect
on people, even non dog people smile at them.
