Finished Grooming

I finished grooming but had Sadie, Tiger and Benji to do today. Then we had friends over - another breeder and our dear friends who own Milo and Hugo.

So not many photos but I did get Lola freshly groomed.

I groomed her up and said Nathan hurry up and get that photo.

We had Oscar, Benji, Rafi, Jeannie, Roxie and Adele playing up a storm in the back. They were doing the run like hey thing and I cringed going oh my but Benji has to remain clean. Surprise, he did. I was shocked. Benji departs tonight. Finn and Bijoux departs tomorrow. There goes another long weekend.

Finn and Adele gets along grandly but hey she does with everyone it seems.

So I didn't swim as I didn't think it was warm enough. Where is that weather?

Marathon Grooming

As Nathan is going to the specialty I am doing a marathon on my own dogs getting them all washed. Clean dogs are faster to maintain. So, for the last 2 days, I have been washing and washing. Tomorrow Benji, Tiger and Sadie get bathed tomorrow and then they head out. I now only have Shoshi to do so it will be tomorrow with the 3 or later on as in Monday or Tuesday. Tonight I just finished Fiona and I kept saying tomorrow - you can do Shoshi tomorrow and then I said but you have 3 others so I pushed myself and finished Fiona.

The dear husband looked at her before I washed her and said she doesn't look dirty. I truly think he is being nice or he needs thicker glasses or both. But she was starting to tangle so now she's done.

I have learned the hubby is sensational playing with the dogs, Dennis is amazing too but no one clicks photos. I have to wash a dog, click a photo. Then wash a dog, click a photo. Oh well, we had a great day. It was warm then cool. Riley who is just here for tonight tried to go in the pool. We kept saying no as no one was going to go in so in he decided to go. Dennis was out with him and said he fell in but each time I was out with the dogs he was trying to go in so which one is it?

Here's a few photos I managed to click today. Wish I had more. Realize I am also helping feed pups every 2 hours too.

Rafi and Riley get along famously but Riley seems to like all!

Evil Eye Risa After Bath LookNo bath for Spice just a comb out

Abs Chillin' They all love the comfort of the cushions outside.

Ragged Looking Truffie

Bijoux just loves hanging with Dennis.

I give up on getting a perfectly combed out photo of Lola but maybe after she has a bath. We will try. Lola is doing really really well with everyone and she really likes the guys in my life - Jon too!

Oscar and Chewie have been playing tonight. Oscar is starting to truly relax and connect.

Benji gets a bath tomorrow and even though he had one last week he looks like he needs one as he is physical with the dogs and plants so he mucks it up in a big way and gets dirty often. hahahaha He leaves tomorrow.

Lola saying to Dennis, what do you want to do now?

Finn had a shave down but I think he looks cute!

Rafi and Jeannie really are smitten with each other.

Life is good. We are having fun. Hoping tomorrow is a swimming day but after washing dogs only those not washed are going in. :-) If Kat goes in, Nathan is brushing out and blow drying. That's the deal and I am sticking to it.

Baths and More

Just want to share a photo of Anne with the Coop. Bravo, guys!

I have been bathing and I ran out of steam and have 2 more to do tomorrow morning so no update per se. We are still playing. Nathan just doesn't click photos like me.

Everyone is doing really well. I can't believe the Benji departs in 2 days. Tomorrwo is another busy day but I wil try to do better about clicking vs spending so much time grooming. :-)

Early Morning Play

I have learned you ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS groom after morning play especially when we have rain. Check out a few photos of the dogs having so much fun this morning. I think the only one that didn't get into it today was Logan who looked like he needed his sleep. hahahaha

All you need for some fun is a ratty tennis ball and  Nathan who plays with havanese. hahahaha

Later Rafi and Tiger are coming. Scruffy and Pepper just arrived. Let the games continue!

Crazy Dayz

It couldn't make up if it was going to rain or not today so it did both. hehe That's our summer.

I had just finished brushing Lola up and said to Nathan quick get a shot of her brushed. This is what he got. Oh well, she is playing her heart out. One has to laugh at things like this and when the hubby roughs them up after you spent a long time bathing and grooming someone.

That is or kill the husband. hahahaha

The two siblings had a get together. Actually Bentley slept over and they played and played and played.

Levon was over and well Nathan you need to not shake the camera from all your laughter or this is what Levon looks like when you can't contain the laughter. :-)

Brewer had a bath and he is off. We have really enjoyed seeing him this month. He will be missed.

Jlo also had a bath and she was off too and the Dusted one - Dusty - all missed and loved.

Today was a groom and play and fun day. I wish I was one of the dawgs sometimes...

It's Been an Event Filled Day

Well Benji and Kat were running around like crazy dawgs and Benji ended up cutting the corner too tight and splay into the pool.

Poor Benji got his brush out and blow dry before his bath. He gets his bath again on Sunday when he departs. I bet you he is scratching his head wondering why play equals bath. So am I. :-)

We had a ton of fun playing going on today. Here are a few photos.

Boo was here for the day and so was Brewer. They make the most of their time, I tell you!

Bentley, Adele's brother is here just for an overnight and oh my he has tuckered the Adele out. How fun is that?

Lola took to Bentley as if they were two peas in a pod. It was a riot. Lola is finally starting to get we brush daily, you get a treat and she is now saying okay where is the treat?

Dusty really likes the smaller set too. I don't blame her. Dusty gets a bath first thing tomorrow as she departs in the morning. We will miss her!

Panda loves chillin' on the deck. It was a perfect day today for it with no rain.

Sadie is a play monkey and adores the great outdoors.

JLo also departs tomorrow and with all the playing she has done, she will need it. :-)

These are only a few of the photos I clicked today. To be honest we have been having so much fun clicking was secondary. I hope you don't mind!

Crazy Dawg Times

The Look!Tomorrow Adele gets to spend sometime with her brother. How cool is that? It will be laughing time for sure for all!

I am finally feeling better but Nathan has a serious neck issue which he refuses to get checked. It started when he went to the funeral and it has only got worse. I say to him you must move it to the point that it hurts just to gain mobility. You can't hold it in place but I get that he is. I think it is stress induced. This loss has been difficult to say the least. We really are missing a dear loved one. Sorry to use this as a venting - I know its about the dogs but we are about the dogs too. They are our lives and so are our families. Without them we would not be who we are.

We get our grandkids on Wednesday as our daughter goes into Ottawa for shiva (mourning for one week) and our one grand daughter can't miss her Bat Mitzvah lessons (she is going daily - thank you Rabbi) as she is playing catch-up due to hospital stays. This last month has been terrible. She is now off the Remicade due to serious side effects (breathing difficulties, rashes - side effects) and is on another drug. This one will take 6 weeks to work but her bat mitzvah is in 4 weeks. It's always something.

As I was sick and I was truly sick I got behind in grooming - never on visitors - just my own. Nathan said he would help and I suppose he did or it would be worse but wow I am playing catch-up today and it isn't pretty. I am working in-between feedings. Dennis is sleeping. I have 3/4 done. I am thorough so I take my time and not just say I do only getting the top coat. I use a comb on all. So time consuming it is.

It's also pouring so what I get done looks interesting 5 minutes later.

I did manage to take a slew of photos BEFORE grooming so you can see what my dogs looks like before I get to work. I brush the dogs before I groom me but to me they count more. That sounds silly but anything that brings me so much joy deserves my work I say.

So when you are looking at yours going oh my they look absolutely atrocious, smile as it happens here too. It's not often but it does. But I am a crazy dawg person and that's all I will say on the subject.

Truffie has been combed since, Roxie not yet. hehe

Dusty has been groomed and gad I love her silky shiny hair. Much to Adele's irritation she was groomed too and so was Benji but Benji decided to go under the deck and well he needs a bath and that's all I can say. I love his personality. He has such spirit but boy he reminds me of Wasabi - not his mom Fiona. hahahaha Fiona is such a princess and Wasabi likes to muck it up, crawl, get dirty and pounce on this or that. That's Benji and I swear he smiles when he comes looking at you as if he just climbed into the dirtiest hole he could find.

This was Benji before this mornings grooming and before he crawled under the deck. I love him anyway. All I can say is I am glad we are getting a new washer tomorrow as its been hell without one and I am almost out of towels and baby blankets for pups.

Abigail continues to play with Adele as if she is a wee pup. I will tell you Adele has a mischievous soul. She is a happy go lucky, let's create trouble soul. She doesn't back down from the bigger dogs being a tad boisterous. She keeps on going till she thinks she has won. Sounds like Jeannie, doesn't it!

We have been blessed to have Brewer join us this month just for the day. His last day is Wednesday and we and the others will miss that fun spirit. Oh Spice you make such wonderful pups.

Brewer is having a blast with Benji. See Irma Benji's haircut and its highly managable and curly and I think it looks great on him. They have the same hair.

This is Sadie and Lola. They both are really mucking it up with the crew and it is nice to see!

This is Brewer and Roxie. Brewer is saying I win! They go back and forth over this winning business.

Lola and Truffie are exceptionally playful with each other.

I have more photos but to be honest I must get back to grooming. We are having a blast. I am too and I am thankful that I feel well enough to play catch-up and enjoy the dogs. They are what makes my heart skip a beat. The hubby and the family does too. :-) I love them for sure!

Event Filled Day

Last night this raging stomach flu came back so it's been a day of Immodium and lots of water is my friend. I decided not to brush my dogs to give myself a break and tomorrow I will get back to it.

We had the pleasure of Darcy here. (she just went home) Lola, Sadie, Dusty and Benji are playing up a storm. Benji has become so comfortable with life here that he is having a blast being the leader of the mischievous games. I must laugh. Lola has gained her comfort level and have found fun in Dusty, Adele and Roxie. Sadie came in today as if she had never left. We haven't seen her for quite sometime but she said hello to everyone and adjusted before her human Daddy and sister left the yard.

Dennis has been great playing with the dogs like crazy. I did a lot of snuggling and doing retrieval games. Nathan is out running with them as I type.

It's just another day and everyone is having so much fun I expect them to have a deep sleep tonight.

This is a no photo day but I will play catchup tomorrrow!

Ticking: Shoshi

As Shoshi is cut short you can see her ticking. If I went a half of an inch all over her coat, which I did as she was a huge practice haircutting dog for me at one time, it would be even more obvious.

This is Shoshi with longer hair but not as long as she has now. As the white is more abundant you lose the appearance of the black until they are bathed.

This is Shoshi in full coat. You can no longer see the ticking. What it does do is give you an optical illusion that the hair is not a brilliant white as another dog without ticking but if you were to match up the whites next to each without the ticking playing a part you may be surprised that the whites are pretty brilliant. They have to be next to the black ticking otherwise it would give a grey appearance. Shoshi does not look grey as you can see. It's just a trick of the eye.

Ticking can be quite stunning.

A Tuned Out Moment

We just got bad news this morning. A family member who really means a lot to us passed away. Okay all family members are important but this lady was extra special! Due to pups I won't be going in but Nathan will be heading to Ottawa for the funeral just for the day on Sunday. So bear with us. If you are due email or something give us a bit to let us catch our breath.

The dogs, life etc all moves as it usually does. Baths gets done, dogs get brushed etc.

But this one is a hard one as she was a light always never forgetting any of our kids ever. The world is emptier without her and we are indeed feeling the loss.

Days You Give Up

I brushed up the Benji today and this is how he looked by the end of the day. Well, no one is saying they don't have fun.

Everyone played their hearts out. Wish I had more photos, but not today.

Just know we had a ton of fun.

Great Day

I am not whole yet but the dawgs LOVED the cooler air - running like the breeze and so did I. I LOVE swimming and don't want that to go away but if I could just have summer and fall all year. hahahaha

Here are some photos taken today!

Assessing the play partners...

There's something about the Brewer for the gals...

Run, run, run!

The play fun never seems to end!

Rocky seems to be in love with Roxie in a big way!

Risa and the Panda doing the regal stroll!

A Lil Spice Fun

Water Gazing Times

The play went on and on today with everyone. It aws as if they were making up for lost time as the weather was perfect for running!

So, you are a girl too?

Just a Few Photos

Everyone is doing well but as I had in mind that I would have some broth soup, everything is back so I am barely functioning so I am back to bed to leave Dennis and Nathan to it. The dogs are in great hands but here are the pix that Nathan clicked today.

They played, they rested, they had fun and I was up for most of it but now that it is pouring rain, maybe that's my cue to jump back in bed. Just know even when I am sick they all have an amazing time.

Picnic Photos

Check mine out and I know Steven posted his on facebook and here is a link to Janes. It was fun. I missed many of you attending but those that came, it was fun despite me not being all that on this planet. Mine may be blurry, out of focus, what have you but I just uploaded what I had and realized I didn't take many. Hope some came out. I simply uploaded and hope you understand why I don't have the time to delete those that may have not come out.

Look for next year's event in months to come and in September we are going to do some playdates with the pups that are in their forever home. Maybe sooner... but August is a crazy month for us with a wedding for our youngest daughter and a bat mitzvah for the grand daughter plus Nathan will be at 2 specialties. So, September is looking good for me! Stay tuned!

Picnic and More

This was Jeannie and Brewer. Brewer was going home. Jeannie rather likes him and she will get to see him at the picnic today. I almost typed tomorrow. heh

Dennis instead of Nathan is getting up at 3am to relieve me so I can get some sleep. I will crawl into the TV room - one of the dawgs most fave spots. It's a real dawg room with couches covered, tables with beds on it, a giant crate inbetween so they can go from couch to couch. They love the room and you can tell.

Dusty is visiting and its a good thing Adele is staying home so they can play. She plays with others too but seems fascinated with the little ones.

Nathan may or may not update the blog but I won't be doing picnic updates till Sunday in the wee hours when I am up all night. I have to do something inbetween to stay awake. I am not sure if I will get a gallery done but at least I will talk about the event.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Glad pups are doing so well so I can. I hope I am awake enough to be coherent. I may have to sleep in Sylvia's car. We shall see how the 3.5 hours sleep goes after Dennis gets up. I am factoring in time to fall asleep, time to update him etc

Picnic

My guy is going to sleep till 4am, get up, let me sleep and I will be heading out with skype and phone so Nathan can also enjoy from afar. I will also be taking photos, and video. He gets to go to 2 specialties in August so a great trade off but still I would have liked him to attend too.

Only Jeannie and Fiona will be going. Can't do anymore on my own with this little sleep plus its not my car. :-) It gives me more time to concentrate on photos, socializing, eating and sharing with Nathan.

Bring chairs. You need them. Wear comfortable, loose clothing as its going to be hot. Bring a dish. There will be drinks but if you want something special bring that too.

Yvonne already had our popups picked up so we have some shade.

I look forward to seeing you all but please ignore me if I seem incoherent. I should have enough sleep but we shall see and caffeine is becoming my friend till these all nighters fade and Dennis can do them. Maybe Tim Horton ice cap - we shall see.

Thank you hubby, thank you all that offered a ride. Thank you Sylvia for taking me. Thank you Yvonne, Alex and Lucille (Lucille is Yvonne's sister) for setting up without us for the most part and using your gorgeous property. Thank you to whomever saw it fit that pups were born, doing well giving me the opportunity to go. It means a lot to me.

Thank you to all that are taking the time to come. It means more than words can say. Though I understand not everyone can come - maybe next year?

Night Time Duty

Well the washer died early and we found out an LG washer can't be fixed by anyone but LG and they can't come till Monday, joy. Lots of towels, bedding and of course our own clothes to do. I tried washing towels by hand. I realized I am no expert as I swear they still have soap in them. I tried it again just in case and well its broke so Nathan may have to find a laundrymat to wash and then we will dry here. We shall see.

The things I miss about night time duty. It's quiet. Well except for non stop make sure pups are eating and mom's bottom is clean - oh yeah and you use towels to dry to make sure mom gets back to pups fast.

I also miss the night time snuggles with hubby and the dawgs. Today our cleaning people come so sleep may be interesting. I should have ordered ear plugs.

Did I say I am tired? I am. We also have Brewer, Dusty and Chase coming so I gather that will wake me up too. Then I am supposed to be coherent for the picnic. It's going to be interesting. At least I get to see Brewer before I crawl into bed. :-)

Life is always a challenge but you have to learn to laugh about it, I say. Can't wait till 7am so I can hug the dogs, weigh the pups and crawl into bed.

Busy Day

It's been a busy day so no photos. If the pups continue to do well, I am looking for a ride to the picnic. The only caveat is I need to stop at No Frillls to get ice around the corner from Yvonnes and I need to arrive no later than 11:15. I won't leave Nathan without a car and we only have 1 so will share gas. If you can help, let me know.

I have slept about 2 hours and I am on night time duty so forgive the lack of a real blog entry today.

Hope you enjoy today's photo of Sparky at LL Beans.

Getting Ready

The Boo went home. Pepper and Scruffy got washed up for the picnic. Brewer, Logan and Panda already brushed out. I took a 10 minute swim. May take another but no dogs will be swimming while we are in this hold as I don't want the stress of brushing out and drying while in the midst of pups coming.

Here is the Pepper yesterday in her pretty bow.

I even got everyone brushed out already just in case. Spice is still eating with gusto so this could be awhile.

It's going to kill me if we have to miss the picnic more than you know. It's a joint effort from Chicadoro and Talemaker and it was filled last year with mostly Talemaker dawgs. It used to be here but we have too many dogs so Yvonne offered to do a joint venture. If all is well, I will be going and Nathan remaining. He is going to 2 specialties in August so I thought it has to be him cause I know how you feel about the guy but I am going to take him up on the offer to go as it will be 3 things I miss vs just 2. I hope you understand. If we both can't go, please take videos and photos. I will miss it but I would like to see our dogs please. It does mean a lot to us to see the dogs.

We did not cancel the event as the timing was best for Yvonne, Alex and Gerda. We want you to have a great time so please do and please attend!

I am not sure why that isn't understood. You can't believe the comments we got as if its not our event too. <sigh> It has us rethinking the joint venture and I don't really want to do that. <sigh>
