Playing Catchup

Nathan was at the dog show. He is now home snuggling with dogs. 

I have been busy combing out dogs here and there. I just combed out Tenshi and hope she survives intact without knots as she is playing like crazy. She is getting picked up anytime.

We have dogs departing - dogs coming and I have not looked at my grooming list tomorrow but Nathan is at a dog show again. Me, I want a nap. Nathan is busy HOGGING and I tell you HOGGING the dogs. They love it so that's okay.

Messy and Busy

It's a messy day today. No one got brushed or washed except dogs going home today. It has been exceedingly busy. Today we went to Ruth's funeral. I broke out in hives from so much stress but I got through. So did Nathan that has been on a journey of stress. Dogs get us by literally and smiling faces at the door to drop off and pick up.

Tenshi, above rolled all through the grass. Let's say she couldn't help herself.

We have puppies - 3 of them having the time of their life. No one plays quite like puppies.

Harlow decided the top perch was hers in the tv room since the day she started visiting. Well, Pepper said it's mine. They had a staring match. Nothing physical but Pepper decided the other bed on the other side was more desirable till Nathan sits down and Coco the maltese and Pepper will wrap themselves around his head as if they are a neck pillow. Got to get a photo of it. Harlow will smile. She does smile.

Vivi has picked me as her person. She just gets so excited when I come back into a room. She follows me out to my office and there she will remain as happy as can be. 

Bria has departed. Dennis looked at her and said is that Bria as she had a shorter hairdo. It was funny. Lulu is going home now.

Get this, Coco, Leo, Charlie and Teddy have been playing for the last hour. They keep hunting in the brush. Nothing there that I can see but they think so. Dennis is out there with them trying to figure it out. LOL

Swim and New Faces

I have 2 more dogs tonight so I can go to the funeral tomorrow and then another 1st thing. Today we had to go to the funeral home, bring all the paperwork to Ruth's mom to get her to sign off and set everything up. Mom is in a wheelchair so it is hard to get to the funeral home and hard to get to the grave site. 

We have been busy collecting eulogies and passing them on to the cantor. It is and has been a process. 

After that Nathan had to go to the show to do set-up. Tomorrow we go to the funeral and Tuesday and Wednesday Nathan goes to help at the show. So, Thursday maybe normalcy? We decided we each need a day off after the shows are over. I thought next week it was impossible so Thursday it is for me. Friday for Nathan and Sunday for Dennis. 

No pool today for me but we did promise Nica's family we would get her in the pool with her mother Ella. I really felt like we didn't have it in us but we did and then Nathan had to go to the show. We literally had this small window to get it done. She is a strong swimmer. Didn't shake. Just swam along but twice was enough this first time. It is interesting as it was the same for Yoshi and now she is swimming.

Hallie and Nami just came into heat so look like Fall pups will arrive. It is 63 days from breeding and breeding is about a week away to begin then 63 days from conception. We start again.

We have a number of dogs here. As you will notice Coco lays on top of Stone many times away. He doesn't seem to mind. 

Everyone has been enjoying. But now I have dogs to wash.

Gazing at the Pool

Sorry - just a short blog. It was warm. It is supposed to be warmer tomorrow. You see that dog in the middle - Cinnamon? I combed her completely out and look at her now? I so laugh. Each night that gal takes a toy in her mouth and wriggles her whole body hitting me in the face with a toy.

Juggling

Ruth passed at 512am this morning.

I will be juggling Sunday and Monday's grooming. Sunday we need to go to the funeral home to do a video with Ruth's mom to make decisions. She is in a wheelchair and can't go to them. Nathan feels he can't do this alone. Monday, most likely the funeral will occur. So, I will be grooming inbetween everything. Nathan is supposed to be at a dog show working it on Sunday till Wednesday.

Lots of grooming today too.

Feels Like Fall

Maki and Jax are getting along famously. Maki goes home tonight and Jax will be tired.

Ms Coco the Maltese has been caught laying on Nathan's legs outside. She is the queen of all she surveys. I could go on and on about everyone having a blast and they truly are. The cool weather seems to have invigorating them.

It is Nathan's day off.

I may put on socks as my feet are cold. I have a ton of blankets on my couch in here and many of the dogs are making the most from it. 

I asked Nathan to get me a chocolate treat like Turtles or Costco pistachios and he forgot. Nathan has been extra good about his diet and he is forcing me to be as well. Will I ever survive? I can't even have Dairy Queen due to him. But I made him a lovely fish meal today. Guess who will have the leftovers - not Dennis who hates fish of any type but of course cut up in little pieces, the dogs. They went crazy for it. I guess the dogs have more taste than Nathan. Okay - maybe I can't cook fish. The dogs can thank me that I do such a poor job!

PatchesAbbyPatches and Abby, along with Radar, have made our lives complete.  Liz, Ed, and I thank you so much for allowing us to bring these little darlings into our homes and be part of our families.  The joy they bring us is immeasurable.  Radar is here because he wanted you to know he joined in the party.  Best, Angela

No Rain YET!!!!

They say a big storm is coming tonight but so far the sun keeps playing peek-a-boo. The dogs love it that way.

We have the electrical getting fixed in the pool house. He comes back tomorrow. I am tired of breaking things. GO AWAY!

Nathan is making dinner and he has the avid attention of all the dogs. No barking for the supper without Harlow. I laugh. 

Nathan works at the show - I didn't realize from Sunday to Wednesday. Joy...

Dogs mostly lounged. It is Dennis day off so no running crazy today. Tomorrow they will expel their energy in a huge way. I just played retrieve  and not all thought that was fun. Lady, you have to run to have fun! But my hip is bothering me - think rain coming so I am taking the Nathan way of dealing - not to run. LOL

Raccoons are indeed next door - not in our yard and I think they are in his pool house. We see a hole. They never opened their pool and although they have cars in the driveway, no one responds so I left a note. I would want to know. So far, they haven't done a thing and that was 3 days ago.

Dog Day Warm One

The dogs are having a great time. It is my day off. Tomorrow I play catch-up on grooming. Dennis may make me dinner. 

I had a wonderful breakfast with Sherry. It has been a long time. I was so full, I didn't eat lunch. I await dinner. LOL Thank you. I have not had a true day off for weeks. 

We are non-stop getting news about Ruth. I have not slept uninterrupted for 3 days literally. I may crawl into bed early tonight and take something to sleep.

The dogs that are here truly are enjoying each other. No more eating baseboards for one today. We celebrate.

The dogs truly find the weather delightful as they want to be out in it more times than indoors. I am glad they try to make the most of it. Of course one or 2 of us are always out with them. 

Looking forward to finding something on tv to watch.

Dennis decided to play vs. clicking and for the most part, that is what he did. Dogs loved it. Photos, blogs etc sometimes reduces the amount of play. We strive for balance for humans and canines.

Repair Repair

It is the summer of repair. argh Today washing machine that I must have as I do too much laundry. Got great service - same day repair but not a great price. Tomorrow pool repair. 

Receiver unrepairable so had to get a new one. The dogs liked the old one as all it would do is buzz. 

Had a number of dogs to groom. Everyone ate really well - even I from a meal Dennis made for me. Yum!

I just finished leftover popcorn. 

A puppy is chewing gouges out of our trim in kitchen. That will have to get repaired. That is a 1st.

Dogs liked the cooler weather to laze outdoors. Maybe a good night to blanket it and laze outside instead of tv.

Mr. Tuppy man goes tomorrow. Going to give him a bath in trade of the popcorn. He REALLY needs it. LOL

Frog Legs, Visit and Play

We had a visit from Kevin but I only got a quick look and greeting as I was grooming on a time limit. I did upload a video. Even I didn't look at it yet but did upload it. We do not edit the videos. It is what it is.

The dogs played. They had fun. Me, I am just working - same for the next 2 days and maybe breakfast with Sherry on Wednesday. So, need an escape so looking forward.

Pool is still broken. Dogs are so running like crazy dogs at the moment. It is a fun day. It was very nice to see Kevin despite the short time I had. Someone decided to come an hour earlier. I made it but I had my doubts. LOL

Dogs Keeping Me Going

It is my day off and I really really needed it but not meant to be. Feels like a regular day. I had to wash a dog that is going a day earlier. We are non stop dealing with the hospital and caretakers and Ruth. I am barely sleeping but the dogs are amazing.

We had a visit from someone that is having their dog stay here. It is a Raven pup. It's been years but he gave me a lick on my face and knew me. He didn't react to Nathan. Maybe he likes women best. Think Nathan was sad about that. But he will come and a light bulb will come on. It's rare that this happens.

Told Nathan due to this crappy day, I want buttered popcorn from the movie theater. We shall see if that occurs. Tomorrow I have a highly busy grooming day. I have yet to eat. Think that is stress. I have a headache but I so love the snuggles the dogs give me. I played retreive with them. That was a riot with who will get the ball first.

I so need a break. Soon Nathan will be at a dog show for 3 days in a row and Dennis and I will be carrying the load. 

Pool still broke. Yoshi went in the pool herself - 1st time for that. The gal with the skinny legs. The pups can't get enough of each other. 

Magic stopped playing in the water bowls. Tuppy started doing that too but learned fast - no we do not appreciate. If this pool gets fixed before he goes home, maybe we will take him swimming and call kandoo at the same time. Not hopeful but hopeful - if you know what I mean.

Long Day

Ringo has had a great time. Everyone ate like crazy tonight I gather from all the activity. Dennis and I kept them busy. It is Nathan's day off. He is way too busy with phone calls - hospital stuff. He needs a break too.

Astro departed and we already miss her. Her parents gave us two highly absorbent towels from Turkey. How wonderful. It will come in handy when the pool is fixed. Yes, the pool seems to have a blockage or something and think they can come out a week from now. How cute. It will put a damper on my day off. Maybe I will just stay in bed. hahahaha

Weather is nice. Everyone has been really enjoying. I have a dog to do... I said that!

News and Play

Jax and Hallie have been over the moon about seeing each other but the younger ones are all playing heartily. The adults too.

This blog is going to be short. 

Dennis has made sure the dogs are having fun. Now we are all back and after outside play, we will be tv timing it. They actually love that as it is also lots of snuggle time.

Outside is the Best

We spent a lot of time outdoors today. I picked some cucumbers and green beans to add to a salad. Brave me eating a salad again. LOL

Cassie departed. Thunder will depart soon. Ellie came for a play date. We had a lot of fun today. Magic, Chester and Buddy arrive today. 

It has been Dennis' day off so I am doing his chores. Everyone deserves a day off each week while you can. 

Socks departs already tomorrow. Lachlan and Coco the maltese come for a play tomorrow. They say rain tomorrow. Let them be wrong. 

Come Friday Astro will depart - too soon. I bet you her parents don't say that but she's been a dream playmate for many. 

My stereo receiver is on the way out. We watched Good Doctor and Justified and well sound was an issue. So, I await a replacement. Dennis looked it up and it lasted 12 - almost 13 years. It seems soundbars are popular but if you already have the speakers, a stereo receiver is a better choice. I was shocked that soundbars cost as much if not more than a stereo receiver. Crazy costs on everything lately. We won't talk about groceries.

Anyone know a good cucumber salad. It seems they are growing better than the tomatoes. LOL

Out Every Time

Socks decided the pool was refreshing. Socks even swam leisurely. 

Repeat - one of us are ALWAYS out with the dogs. It doesn't matter if it is raining, sunny, snowing. If they need to go out then one of us do too no matter what the weather is. 

We have a moderately quiet house today especially after the long weekend. 

It's not hot. It's not cold or rainy. The dogs are laying sunbathing so they think it is just right. 

It is a perfect day. Hope you think so too!

Lots of dogs are departing today. Lots of grooming. It is the end of the holiday weekend and most are coming back early due to the weather. 

It almost seems quiet here. 3 more depart tonight. I am sure they will all go home and sleep. They have all partied hearty. Though Bella thought lots of blankets very soft on the couch shimmied up to me was the best.

With Nori departing, it is just Cassie and Yoshi of that size. 

Ms Mabel arrived - only arrival today in a sea of departures. She's been playing and playing so much she went for a nap with the old guy that resides here that needs a nap daily.

Otto keeps looking at me as if to say - hey outside couch time human. Who cares if it looks like rain. 

It's a good day - lots of work but great!

Investigations

Coco is a riot. If she sees  bird in the plants in the back, she is on the hunt to figure out where they are going. She never connects. She is just highly curious. 

We went to see Ruth this morning and then I had my couch and veg time with dogs that enjoy that sort of thing at the moment. I fell asleep with them snuggling with me. I had Otto, Saffron, Bella, Astro and Nala. They were mighty content to cuddle and catch some zzzzs. The weather was perfect for that sort if thing. Nathan napped upstairs with the pups and a number of others. Dennis played with the rest. We let it be their choice and it works well that way. Panda and Logan always like their afternoon naps.

They say rain is coming but Dennis is playing the game - do I need to water or not? We have had way too much rain. 

Bria is getting a brushout daily and she well looks mighty interesting. It's that play you know. 

Many depart tomorrow so I will be busy. End of long weekend you know.

Puppy Swim Time Today

We had Misty supervising. Nori, Cassie and Yoshi swimming and Truffie fell in or didn't. I will put up a few videos in a bit. You will see them shortly after the blog is done. They all did well in the pool but strange enough, Cassie didn't jump in today. I guess she learned last visit.

Bella watched from the couch. She adores the couch. She is not the only one. There are some couch hoggers. They want to snuggle but wouldn't mind if I sait on the deck. LOL This is the outside couch.

Last night Astro and Leti competed over who was going to use my body as a pillow. Others draped over my feet and head. It's not just Nathan that has the fun but it makes him feel good when they sleep so close.  LOL I had to mention Astro as Nathan tells her parents she is always all over him till she finds I get up less and make a fine pillow. I am so laughing but she is a great snuggler. 

Dogs had fun. It wasn't so hot. Nathan is making egg rolls. Three for me, please.

Lots of grooming tomorrow. Just a few today. 

Mr. Woodruff dropped in and he is having a blast. So did Daisy! Ms. Bria needs a brushout as she was in the mud of her own making. Get feet wet, walk in dirt and jump on Nathan. 

I could go on and on but I have to eat and make my grooming list for tomorrow. Oh yeah and upload videos.
