2 Years Old

Good evening Darlah and Nathan,

Just thought I would send along a photo of Juno on her second birthday. Our sweet girl continues to be such a source of happiness. Thank you again for allowing her to be a part of our family,

Andrea, Craig, Nathaniel, Noah, and Katherine

Today is Watson’s 2nd birthday!
He is such a good dog ๐Ÿ’• we are lucky to have him.

Yesterday Watson went to play with 2 furry friends. Bentley who is the same age and the same size and Maya, older and bigger. They had a blast! Watson was very quiet in the evening after so much fun.

Two Blog Day

Here is the gallery.

Sorry I am so late. I just finished grooming and we had 3 puppies to do as well that are departing tomorrow.

Lots of playing today. Skylar and Bailey were running like banshees. But they were all playing like that. It is what life is about and it is for the dogs here. What a blast they had and it does my heart good.

I am simply too overextended working from 7am till just now and well still working as I am blogging. I am also building galleries etc.

Be sure to see the happy birthday below.

Short blog - apologies but I have all the puppy bath ones to go up.

Just know the dogs are having fun and it is tv time with Nathan at the moment.

Cold Day

Here is the gallery.

The dogs had fun despite how cold it is. Me, I had a winter coat on - really. I hate cold. I am so glad we have a safety pool cover. Everyone should. Even with a pool cover on we still watch. We are always out with the dogs. Think of it as your fresh air too.

We did cook a turkey - well I did. Tomorrow morning yum turkey additions for the dogs. They had a little bit tonight - pups too.

I am tired so I am cutting this short. I so want to climb into bed.

Hope all the pups are doing well. I hope everyone is enjoying this cool fine thanksgiving weekend. Dishes soon then crawling into bed. I so need to.

Cool But Clear

Here is the gallery.

The dogs love the cover on. It almost makes me feel alright about closure - till next spring.

I want to thank Susan and Dan for the Visa gift card. Unexpected but did not want to be remiss by not remembering with all this puppy craziness I am going through.

I still have 2 dogs to do and truly I want to go to bed instead. LOL Turkey cooking time tomorrow and puppy departures but the dogs get turkey added to their food so they will be in heaven. Yes, we always share.

Saffron ate a full meal as long as I added duck treats in. Have to laugh at her. She no longer has her onesie on but I watch her. I may only put it on at night to avoid her hair getting matted - which they do from clothes being on all day. No pain pills - just antibiotics.

Due to Thanksgiving we have a number of visitors. I am thankful - besides it makes our day to share our day with them - not just words.

Coco the havanese and Coco the maltese was here. Tomorrow a few depart - Jamie and Charlotte are two that will depart. We will miss them. Hope its late enough - after lunch that they get their turkey. hahaha Me and turkey and dogs. Okay we love to indulge them when we can. We do the same with Salmon, ground meat and roast beef. heh

Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone. I hope it's everything you want it to be. At least a few families will be getting puppies over this weekend. Now how fun is that?

Visitors and Nice Weather

Here is the gallery.

Dorothy was here to do weeding and she took the time to say hello to Kinsey that looks remarkably like her grandma Saffron. Thank you, Dorothy IMMENSELY. Hope you like the egg roll. If you do, I will have to get you some.

Sarah, our granddaughter was over as she brought us her Adele and River for the long weekend. She is indeed a dog person and had a lot of fun, I am told. As I was busy grooming - tomorrow is from 7am till night - today I just finished, Sarah came into the grooming room and chatted. I am ever so glad otherwise I wouldn't get to see her.

Tomorrow I wash 2 pups departing and a slew of other dogs. Then the departures begin. I am totally exhausted. Dorothy must be too. Us ladies that go and go. I do believe I have reached my limit and Nathan keeps asking me to do more. I said not till after pups depart. 8:19pm and I am doing blogs.

The cover is welcomed by the dogs though much play was inside today. I think it was muggy. I was only outside for a short bit. Dogs came - dogs departed.

Dogs had a ton of fun. Me - I got some blogs to do.

Warmest Day in October Fun

Here is the gallery.

You will see the cover is on in the gallery and Harlow is barking at everyone running on the cover. She's the referee. She has an amazing time at this job too. Daisy too!

The dogs absolutely loved the cover on and spent a significant time running back and forth over it. It is like a trampoline and they adore the extra space.

Saffron is off pain pills and is more her old self. She is eating and drinking and she enjoyed outdoors today.

The dogs had a splendid time today and I mean splendid. The weather cooperated. The cover was on. What could get better than that?

It's a Gorgeous Day

Here is the gallery.

I have too much on my plate today. It's just a reality. It's wonderful weather outside. It's warmer tomorrow when the pool closes - figures. I am deep in getting ready stuff for the pups to go home and to be honest it is overwheming. I only have the 1st pups done and I vowed I need to do 5 more today even if I stay up till midnight and I may have to.

Add in we are on Saffron watch so when I groom she goes or Nathan took her for his nap today. I want a nap. LOL Saffron is doing as well as one can expect. I think I am going to try her without pain pills and see how she does. They tend to delay healing and with a normal spay I do not give any pain pills after their initial one at the vet. They bounce back fast this way but if she shows she is uncomfortable, I will give her a half.

We are taking plants in. Gee why can't you do that as well. LOL I think my family thinks I am super human.

I want to be outside with the dogs basking in the sun. It is what you should be doing - tomorrow too.

Dennis is soon to be outside running with the dogs and me I have to get those 5 puppy bags done - hopefully before midnight. LOL

What a Day

Here is the gallery.

We had a particularly bad day today. I am so far behind but the end result so far is worth it. Saffron was booked to be spayed after the pups go home. People think you make a ton of money from pups. We do not. When we get money in, we use it to health test dogs, checkups, bills, supplies they need or I think they need plus more like dental, training etc. I rarely buy for myself. We spay a girl that is done breeding here and there as we can afford. Mature gals that have had pups cost twice the amount as those that haven't. Just is. We also do not charge top $$ for dogs as some do. We believe everyone that desires should have the ability to have a havanese in their lives. Gad even mutts that are toted as designer dogs are twice as much as us.

My big spend was to replace a computer that is on its last leg that is older than you can imagine. I use it to do blogs, galleries, photo editing etc. I doubt it is doable now - maybe after the next litters.  Nathan got a jacket he sorely needed and it looks good on him. This was before we knew about Saffron.

Well, last night I noticed Saffron was not doing well. I went to brush her up and noticed pus coming out of her. My first thought was pyo and I was correct. Only dogs that have had litters get pyometra. It is a bacteria infection that can kill dogs in the uterus. Essentially they need their uterus removed. There are two types - open and closed. Closed is worse as you do not catch it early enough as the pus stay within. They can die 24 hours to 48 hours. Even with treatment many closed pyos you lose. You just do as time is critical and you simply do not know. Hers was an open that slowly leaks out of her. So, off to the vet we went. Yes - pyo. We did catch it relatively early. Her uterus did not burst so we believe all infection was removed. It is longer to recover from a pyo spay. It will take approx 4 plus weeks. But she is home. She is alive. She is on pain pills and a heavy dose of antibiotics that upset the tummy but I repeat she is alive. As this is a particularly delicate surgery as dogs DO die from pyo before, during or after surgery the cost is high and our local vet gave us heavy discounts. I can't begin to tell you about the lack of sleep or the concern I carried till I realized they believe they got it all. I love our dogs much more than myself. Sounds crazy but true. Losing Saffron who is one of my heart dogs would have killed me.

If you need a local vet - well I would go to her.

So, blogs will be light. I need to pay attention to her as there are signs to watch for. She is 8bs so fluid is important.

The dogs had an immense amount of time playing but they were all over me. Dogs can sense when you are worried. I was deeply worried - and thankful but still worried. She is sleeping - resting and that is a good thing - in sight.

I didn't brush dogs today so I will play catchup and I have a ton of puppy stuff to do.

As I type - sorry for being so long winded - the dogs are barking for their dinner and I can't begin to tell you what a sweet sound that is. They are excited as they know the good stuff is coming.

Ella will get spayed in 2-3 months. She can't be till 2-3 months post pups. The cost for her will be higher than a normal spay but not like a pyo spay which is 4 times the amount of a spay. So - that is where our puppy money will go. Life...

Anyone need any Aloe plants or anything else I do not want to yank inside. Better than having them die. Seems I have that on my plate too.

Play Play

Here is the Gallery

Today Brewer went in with the pups. Dennis went running in to get the camera as he doesn't do the puppy photos. By that time of his arrival back outside, Brewer had enough of 13 pups chasing him relentlessly. He usually ignores the pups so this was a big deal so I was so disappointed but he took Brewer out to give him some relief from the gremlins. He did try him later to get photos but Brewer wanted back out. So disappointing.

But Jamie and Lilly played but interesting enough they didn't do the chase game with those 2. You will swee Jamie and Lilly in the gallery.

The dogs had a ton of fun. I have to get to doing puppy stuff and we have a family visit tomorrow that is going to cut into what I can do so I may be staying up late tonight.

Daisy goes home this Thursday the day I have to do the pups to depart. The point is - I need to get to it. Just know the dogs had a ton of fun today. Thank you Dennis for running with them like crazy and for Nathan for reading outside while the dogs laid all over him. It's a dawgs life!

Nathan and His Pals

Here is the gallery.

What's a guy got to do on a busy day? Lay out with some of his fave pals. LOLMe, I am doing blogs and a sad state tonight as I find myself exhausted. Tomorrow I have dogs to groom and all the puppy stuff to start in on if the pertinent info hits my mailbox. LOL

We still have gals in heat. I pray that gets over soon but think we have over 2 weeks for that.

Dogs didn't hunt a mouse today. I think it is staying away. LOL

Tomorrow Tia, Benji and George departs. Huge congrats on George's humans for getting married.

The dogs really know how to have fun and well that makes me so happy!

Mr. Brewer is visiting for a couple of days. I so missed Brewer and since he moved we do not see him so much but boy Brewer is a happy happy boy and appreciates the visit. He has been massively delighted. It's rather nice!

Smile

Here is the gallery.

Sometimes you have to smile no matter how busy, crazy or overextended especially if solutions are tough. That's all I have to say.

Jamie now has all the dogs hunting for that mouse that hasn't come out. I have to laugh and laugh and laugh. He's taught them the hunt game.

We had dogs depart - dogs come. I am having my printer say to load paper and paper is in. So I am slowly going crazy. I need it for tomorrow. So apologies - cutting this blog short as I have videos to upload and a printer to allow me to copy.

Oh my gad they saw the mouse again. Jamie was hunting. Guess what I am going to get - ab exterminator before they infiltrate my house. argh

Now to start uploading videos.

Oh Oh the Game

Here is the gallery.

Jamie went absolutely bonkers looking out the back door so Nathan went to take him out as he didn't see what got him going so much. It seems the mouse is back and was scurrying across the deck and well Jamie was having none of it.

Dogs - they find the fun in the craziest things and well I guess he must have a prey drive as he chased and chased that thing but it got away. Maybe it will stay away.

The havanese found this all so fascinating as they watched.

Pool is closing next week. I surely hope it closes before the 3 crew departs so they can have the pool cover trampoline experience. If not they can just come visit. LOL

Can't wait till Thanksgiving so we can share a turkey with the dogs. We break up a little in each bowl and yum they eat every single bit. Can't blame them. I make a great turkey. LOL

Now off to wash dogs. I have 2 pups to wash tomorrow too

Everyone is completely and literally having a blast. I just wish gals would be out of heat. Sky is now in heat - oy

Sorry So Late

Here is a mini gallery.

It's been a long day. I had dogs to wash. We had a vet visit and I had another dog to wash. I still have videos to upload. So - apologies and I must start on puppy stuff as they start going home Friday - yikes!

Dogs had a ton of fun - and I mean a ton!

Had to buy a printer yesterday. Got a great open box deal - only 1 so now I can print as the Canon died. Always something but sort of needed it for all the paperwork. Life....

Now I must cut this short. Tons to do and then end of night cleanup. I also have a dog to wash and groom 1st thing so tomorrow will be busy but not like today! Well - I hope!

Cold and Sad

Here's the gallery.

It's a really cold day today. But with body weight, the dogs do not mind. Dogs have been running around as the squirrels and birds are readying themselves for colder times. We have to bring in our plants somehow and someway or let them die. LOL  We shall see.

Tobias and Havoc departed. Lachlan came for the day and Murphy departs this morning. Tomorrow Opus departs and we have a vet visit with 17 pups. I only have 2 groomings to do so I will try to get those done before the vet comes at 1. I figure it will take a few hours to complete everyone.

My printer has died so I have been exploring possibilities. Sort of need one of those. We head out to get one today and Dennis can gripe about setting it up. I guess I could too but I have a dog to do tonight.

It really looks like rain so I told Dennis to do his run game earlier than later.

A couple of days ago Ripley - not one of ours but Kat was his dad - died from cancer. Still hurts when they are older.

A Day of Rain

Here is a gallery.

Sorry just finished grooming at 750pm. Now I get to do blogs. LOL

The dogs had fun despite the rain. Murphy refused to go out. She would sniff the air and go - really and turn around, use the pad and find her crate. I think she thought it was a blah day and it was. Each dog that comes on a semi or regular basis claims their spots. It doesn't matter if it is during the day or when they go to sleep with us. Their spot is their spot.

A Day of Fun

Here is a small gallery.

Coco is having the time of her life. I never saw her so relaxed. She and a few other dogs had their face plastered on the xpen curious about the pups. It was fun to watch.

Short blog today as I still have grooming and we had puppy visits. Everyone had a great time and Dennis did a hide the treat game today. Got to love him always trying to make life fun for the pups.

Fun House

Here is the gallery.

We have some new visitors and it's a fun and full house. I am juggling grooming and baths and cuts around visits tomorrow. I may be snoring tomorrow.

This is going to be a short blog as I have grooming to do. Our water heater rentals were installed and I rushed to get dogs and laundry done before they shut the gas and water off. They were here all day. We finally have hot water so grooming begins again. Going to be a late night.

Still - the dogs had fun.

Guess it is time to close the pool.

Cold Cold

Here is a mini gallery. I am off to the Keg tonight with Sherry. Tomorrow morning we have our water heater rentals getting replaced after 30 years. LOL. One is no longer working. We no longer have water pressure nor hot water. Same price as our original rental agreement - bonus.

Dogs are off taking a quick run with Dennis.

Below is a placeholder photo. That white stuff can stay away for a bit. You hear that mother nature?
