I have to say it is wonderful to have the dogs visiting us. I so missed them completely!

It is Dennis day off and it is a riot how they watch him use his VR. They must think he is a martian with his mats on the floor and headset over his head and eyes waving his hands every which way. One wonders what the dogs are thinking but they are used to it now. The more they get exposed to strange things the better off they are. 

I weeded part of the path and the dogs was forever grabbing pieces and running with it. It was such a game for some. They had smirks on their faces too. It created so much extra work but it was funny.

It was a frustrating day as Nathan had to do errands. I have grooming to do and Dennis was in bed. It added to my load to the point that I am putting in the calendar that Thursday is not viable to go here and there while I am multi-tasking. Besides, I have this bum knee that makes fast movement impossible. 

Spirit is not eating except when she wants to and when other dogs see she got extras - well they want them too. LOL They all get extras but they want extra extras.

All the dogs genuinely like each other. I find that amazing when most people have someone they dislike. The havanese - well it is a havanese so what's not to like?

When Nathan sits outside and he often does, the dogs surround him and lay all over him. I find it to be a riot!

Not Many

I have been grooming all day so I only got a puppy visit in first thing and Dennis took photos of the adults. He did not with the pups so small gallery on the pups too. Sorry.

More dogs departed. Archie is coming today and Ollie came for a day visit. It was a low key day. I want to lay with dogs and watch more Dark - 3rd season and all.

Yeah Rain

I got today off as I need to do Opus I think on Thursday so my day off is a rain day. That's okay. A day off is a day off!

Tomorrow Logan and Tanner, Ringo and Benny depart. Murphy comes for a spruce up and Robbie, the big dog comes for some exposure and maybe just maybe Purdy's cherry cordials will be picked up by Sherry. They do not always have them in so may have to settle for dark chocolate selection. LOL Talk about settling.

Ms Frannie also comes for an overnight visit and Ms Katie is here today due to some hallway repairs. Miss Tenshi is here for a day visit and finds Kinsey to be a great pillow. Ms Harlow is DELIGHTED to get that perch on high and say it is ALL mine and it is. It is funny when dogs come more than the odd time you know their fave spots, toys, activities and who they choose to snuggle with at tv time. 

Dennis said he is going to do a run upstairs tonight as it seems that the rain is not going to stop. Oh well - good news no flood in the basement so the eaves troughs seem to be working. 

My knee is my knee - daily icing and stupid varicose veins adding to the pain. Life... 

The dogs really look like wet rags. Unlike the pups, most do not like hanging out in the rain even though it is warm.

We had a couple of barkers here this past week that we were working on them not barking. One barker remains but no barking at all today. It pays to work on their voices. Some bark at any noise. Some bark at squirrels. Some bark for their dinner. Some do not bark but talk to you. That talking is the funniest.

Departing

Pingo was supposed to be picked up earlier but his humans plane was cancelled. They finally got a new plane and will be here just before bedtime. Poor them then a drive? I may have to brush him out again as Maddie thinks he is meant to jump on. 

I want to say thank you to Charlotte and Jamie's mom for the wonderful fruit chocolate. Most appreciated.

My day off was supposed to be Tuesday but it is now Thursday. Long story why but better weather anyways on Thursday. 

The dogs got conditioned to people being on the roof, banging and all sorts of noises. They were doing a great job. I was impressed. 

I bought a Dynatrap for the mosquitoes and Dennis said he is going to break it as he says its like a shock collar on dogs but instead on insects. Am I having fun today? Not. Dennis loves all animals even skunks, rats and mice. 

House seems quieter. My knee is still pretty much in agony. As long as I am pain relief meds upped, I am living with it. Nathan fell over the outside xpen and scrapped his foot up. I said to myself - oh great so how will that work?

Only Opus departs tomorrow and Frannie is coming overnight. I have not looked at my calendar but we are quieter and well the barking has stopped. No pool day today - maybe Thursday but I am impressed with Kinsey in the pool. You go gal!

The dogs will love spreading out on the bed tonight and well I do not blame them!

July Already

Dennis is busy taking vines off the wall. Didn't ask him but he insists. He sends me notifies asking me what I have done. I sent him a SHUTUP. I have been working non stop and have 2 more dogs to complete. I have blogs and that $%^& knee. I am not in a good mood. I had another dematting and it set me sadly behind and now my hands are a distraction. He wants me to plant the side of the house with hostas. I said fat chance I will get to that with pups coming. It used to have hostas till every bloody thing began to grow. I say put dirt down and let the grass take over.  

Eaves Trough guys come tomorrow. Has to be done but no swim today or tomorrow, I am afraid and Tuesday rain on day off. Many are departing by tomorrow night. They will be missed. 

The dogs are playing quite a bit. But due to the heat they sure do like to come back inside. Water is changed each time it gets halfway empty so it is always fresh. I also wash the deck repeatedly and the stone around the pool to keep it cool. The dogs surely appreciate it. I need a bag of ice to put in a large plant saucer so they can play. I am going to do that this week. It is a cheap way to have fun. 

Koda is itching to go into the pool. Nathan too but I said I have blogs to do, 2 more dogs to groom and as I have been doing everything while he napped and Dennis decides to rip the side of the house apart - well its my turn. 

What a crab I am but sometimes you just have to say my turn! This venting may help me from killing the son. LOL

The dogs just live for the day.  Can't we all?

I think Jamie despises me now. I say that as I took him in the pool and he was not happy. He ended up scratching my arm up a bit as he wasn't crazy about the experience. I was a very gentle soul and we only did this for a couple of minutes when I realized this was not fun for him. Mom says he likes the lake but a pool is different - not gradual. After he got out, he rubbed himself all over the plants. He will need a bath. His packmate Charlotte had just had a brushout so as I was without Nathan, I decided to keep her dry. You have to comb out completely after a pool swim.

I went in the pool hoping it would help after a freezing session. None of it helped. Oh well. 

Then there was Koda who went in without being asked and decided the pool was her playground. We will have to get her in more times.

The dogs are enjoying each other. I have to tell Dennis to at least click each dog. Most times he only catches the moment when he has a camera on hand. We try. 

Nathan is bringing Katie back home. I must finish blogs so I can put my leg up. 

Just know the dogs are having fun. 

Canada Day

We continue to be busy as people make last minute plans. Some just for overnight. Some for longer. Dennis is back behind the camera. 

It is Nathan's day off. He went swimming with Ella and relaxed. Now he is napping. 

Dogs played a game of find the treat and those that didn't still got a treat. We play it fair. :-) 

It's been a good Canada Day so far. I am trying to get blogs done early as my knee is in serious pain though ice for 10 minutes or so helped it to some degree. Still hurts but less so. Instead of laying ice on, I am looking for a compression ice knee thingie. Have to look at Amazon. Where else. 

Dennis is going to do a run with the dogs tonight if it cools down. Last night I had dogs sleeping on my head, on my neck, my legs. It was a riot. Who can stay cool in that. They love me - well I think!

Heading Into Long Weekend

Nathan took the photos today as Dennis had the day off. Dennis takes more photos. LOL Sorry about that. We had dogs coming, dogs departing and we are all trying to rest but still have 2 departures after 9pm. 

Just a heads up but everyone is saying the airport is crazy with delays etc. 

Looks like nice weather for the holiday weekend. Hope everyone enjoys it to the fullest. Dennis is trying to figure out new games with the dogs. Right now he is playing a videogame in the kitchen and he has dogs on chairs next to him. He always surrounds himself with chairs so the dogs can sit with him. 

The dogs went in and out all day. Everyone eats well as they expel so much energy. 

The dogs, Nathan and I will fall into bed and I bet fall asleep in minutes. 

No one is in heat so we celebrate! Holiday visitors and a heat situation is not fun.

Harlow departs at 8. I am too tired to blog but know that the dogs are having fun. It was much cooler today and we did get rain. 

It's that tv time that dogs and humans enjoy. You say the dogs enjoy tv time? That they do!

Warm But Not Hot

I do not groom on my day off but I groomed Amy and Daisy who departed today. I need to ask Nathan to groom on his day off. Hard to get a true day off unless you go out for the day. Enough of that!

The dogs are messy. Tomorrow I play catchup. I have a full day of grooming and thought it would be a crazy house this holiday weekend but I think everyone went this week instead. That's okay. Maybe it will be quieter and I will get the dogs to help me weed. You think they would like that?

Mr Bean, Pippin and Charlie depart tomorrow. sigh Ms Daisy departed today. sigh Always changes but fun times indeed! They play. They run. They jump. Tonight I continue to watch Dark season 3. I have a feeling I won't fully get it even when it is done. Then back on to the next season of Westworld. The dogs watch with us. Yes, I am laughing but some do.

PS: I think the dogs appreciate me not grooming them today. Got to have a holiday sometime from real life.

I did manage to get into the pool and relax a bit. I am yearning for real eclairs - not whip cream ones. Anyone know who has them?

TV Time and Play

The dogs after having a full day of play love to chill in the tv room. Harlow has her spot and as she has been here often, that is her spot. So, she climbs up in it and owns it. LOL But each dog has beds all over the place and they pick their own spot. There are never squabbles. They saddle up to each other and/or they spread out and say this is my spot. I laugh about it as each are truly genuine characters. Sometimes a few chairs are placed around Dennis while he plays a game and they saddle up to him. It is the unwind time. They have already had their run with Dennis and all participate. They expel a lot of energy. They have genuine fun.

It's my day off tomorrow. Each Tuesday is my day off till we have more pups and then I get no days off. I do not groom on that day as it is my recovery day. That means I will do the blogs but Nathan and Dennis are it with dogs and pups. What that means with photos or videos - we shall find out. 

It was a cool day today. I am blogging and my feet are cold. 

It's been a good day and yes everyone played but Dennis doesn't always have the camera. 

Hot Pup Fun: Video Added

Some of the dogs are departing today. A few more tomorrow. A few sniffed up the pups. The family departed late last night. We are still tired and playing recovery. Lots of grooming today and tomorrow. Tuesday is off and I play recovery. 

The dogs seem to be playing recovery today too but maybe the rain also interfered with the runs outside but Dennis says when it cools down, he will get them running.

Mr. Bean jumped - not fell into the pool. He was not happy that I had a blow dryer on him combing him out when it was breakfast time. The dogs here eat with gusto usually because they are expelling energy. 

We are about to feed them at the moment. It is Nathan's day off so its Dennis and I. 

Everyone and I mean everyone played today. Oakley departed and I suspect he is tired and then again maybe not. LOL 

Till tomorrow! Dogs are barking for dinner literally. 

Kinsey and Charlie Playing Tonight.

Good Days

Emmy had a good day today - tail up, playing. This week we happen to have a full house plus relatives, kids and all that jazz. It has been a crazy house. Tomorrow it starts emptying out. I thought she would loosen up when that occured as she wasn't playing much though would lean against Harlow or Oakley or Mr. Bean. The odd dog that hadn't been here for a long time due to the pandemic was also cautious but eating. Emmy ate with the crowd.

It's like getting invited to a party but you don't know many and finally you connect. This process is good for the dogs as they gain trust. It bodes them well when they meet dogs they do not know in the future.

People ask about swimming. Sometimes we take the dogs in and sometimes not as I always have to comb them out after to avoid knotting and dry them. It takes time. We had way too many humans in the pool this past 9 days. Tonight we are feeding our grandkids and our son and daughter-in-law are doing errands. They decided to drive back tonight. It is now 545pm and they were supposed to be back at 530pm.

So, tomorrow we have a 70% chance of rain and I have a full day of grooming for the dogs that are departing. We will miss the family but we may not have to hold our eyes open after days of exhaustion. Nathan plans to stay in bed till noon. Tomorrow is his day off and Dennis and I will handle everything and bonus if it rains Dennis doesn't have to water the plants. 

The dogs will have more room on the bed come tomorrow night and I will yearn for Tuesday to rest these hands and body. 

The dogs are fascinated with Hallie's pups. Jamie is a riot as he tries so hard to play with them but they are not old enough. All the dogs seem to be enjoying seeing them. Something magical about pups.

Full House and Adventure

Pingo decided to take a swim and literally no fall in - let's swim. It took me forever to comb him out. He was a dawg on a mission. LOL People do  not get that swim is fun but comb out not so the more that swim, the more I comb out. It has been an exceptionally bad week for my hands as I have had too many with knots then combing out as the usual and relatives... but we are hanging in there. Sunday Nathan takes off. Tuesday I may stay in bed all day as it is my day off so do not ask me to make an exception. I must have a day off!

Harlow gave this face when I said it is your turn. LOL

The dogs are having fun. It is a crazy exhausting house but so much fun to go to bed and be covered with dogs. Yes, they sleep with us. 

Life is but a dream with dawgs and I say that affectionately!

Dennis' Day Off

Here is the gallery.

I try to think of the dog's perspective. A new dog will come in not sure of his environment then loosens up over time. It is wonderful to see. Dogs that come regularly know the dogs and environment and have familiar faces. It's like being invited to a party with long lasting friends or finding yourself just meeting everyone. Every dog finds their enjoyment as all our dogs are quite welcoming. I love that about them. 

I think Nathan took a video of Misty, Elvis and I think Mr. Bean - 2, I believe. I will upload them in a few after I do this blog.

It was really hot today but the dogs enjoyed going in and out. I hosed the deck and tiles many, many times so their feet was always cool. 

There is one dog, who will go nameless that I am combing out a couple of times a day as they keep going into the pool. We are ALWAYS out with them so it is not an issue but he's a water dog and well it is hot!

I put a ton of ice cubes in the bowls and they LOVED it. Of course the water went every which way but they had fun pawing it and trying to grab the cubes. The dogs love creativity. I do too as I experience it through their eyes. 

Tomorrow we have the family here at 730am into the night and on Saturday we have the grandkids here till 10ish as our daughter is throwing a birthday party and we are babysitting. Then early Sunday they depart, I think. Then we resume our regular schedule. That means I won't feel totally exhausted. Imagine that. I have gained perspective on what exhausted really means. LOL 

Another Hot One

Long day today grooming so Dennis took photos. Nathan chilled with the dogs and I am majorly exhausted. I think family departs on Sunday. 

Dennis said the dogs had a ton of fun. I am sorry I missed it. I so need 36 hour days without feeling fatique.

Too Hot to Stay Outside

This is Harlow motoring around in the pool. She is a strong swimmer. We took her in as she was running around like a crazy dog barking at those swimming. It was a riot. As we have guests here, we can only take in dogs that can air dry. As Nathan took in a few of ours and it was my day off, he literally combed those that swam out. 

I need to get back to visitors and swimming and hey did you order food - what are we eating chants. I didn't organize this so who knows.

As it is too hot, the dogs have been out and in many times. We have hosed the pavesr so it is cool on their feet and the deck many times. Cooler weather is coming Thursday they say. 

Dogs are truly having fun. But I got to finish blogs and entertain.

Run and Play Before Heatwave

All the dogs get along nicely. They have been running and playing most of the day. Hot weather sets in tomorrow. We will have to have short play outside many times a day. I suspect they will want to stay inside with such high heat.

I am exhausted. I think some of the dogs are too. The grandkids - who are here while the rest go out to eat tell me that we are having a pool party tomorrow. Time - who is coming - really? LOL 

I spent all day with breaks grooming. It was really too much grooming today. 

Thank you, Pippa for bringing Nathan a wonderful present for his bday/father's day. He so loves Golden Palace egg rolls!

Short blogging - sorry but the dog are truly enjoying!

day as the cool weather set in. Tomorrow deep heat and they will not play like this except indoors with the air conditioning. Yes, they go out for short spurts when it is very hot but its not good to have extended time out in high heat so we take them out frequently. 

I had a ton of dogs to groom today and just finished before blogging. A number of dogs depart tomorrow. It will feel quieter. 

We also have family coming over to swim - who knew - out of the mouths of grandchildren. I have no idea who or how many.

Father's Day

We are short blogging. It's a busy day and well I almost fell asleep sitting up - actually I think I did. Dennis said I thought dogs and pups were exhausting. I had to laugh and agree. I will sleep tonight.

Dogs were having a blast. They loved having the extra people. They are exhausted too. LOL The dogs stopped barking at the coming and goings of the grandkids. One granddaughter asked if we train the dogs to be extra friendly.

Almost Father's Day and Relationships

Mr. Bean is hanging out with his buds and this is one of the dog's fave spots. It's sort of chilly, which is too bad as the relatives will be arriving - well we do not know as they took a detour - whatever that is. They will get here when they get here.

We have a full house with dogs.

I made what I thought was a soft and cool shirt for Nathan. He said I am not his child and it is passe. huh? I tried. Anyone want a medium Father's Day shirt. Yeah - I am laughing. Hope he is more impressed with the kids intentions. We will start festivities not till 5ish. Our son already mowed the lawn. Why is it 5? The daughter, her husband, his 2 kids, her ex and their 2 kids are going to a Blue Jays game. I asked the daughter if she was sitting inbetween. LOL She actually said yes. She said they were doing this for the kids. I applaud them but not sure Father's Day will be a great Father's Day for the dads and I thought it was THEIR day but it was her idea. They should all be dogs. Dogs do not care and well the ones that hang out here all saddle up to each other. 

Dennis moved his tv for Joe and family so he will be without for a week. I assume they will be visiting people and doing fun things too so just hanging here is not what they had in mind but we best have warmer weather so we can take the grandkids swimming. 

Buddy departed. He had a great time before he left after his bath. Ollie arrived - Ty departed. Dogs are itching to go back outside. They love this weather. Me, I have a long sleeve jacket on. 

The dogs are all enjoying each other. Maybe a run game is in the cards before the son arrives. This way the dogs will be in the zone. LOL
