On the Way to Vets

Nathan is still very tired but he is listening to Sirius and getting riled up. heh It will keep him awake. Pups, I am tpld are fine travelling. He will let me know how their crate is after the vet visit. But they seem to be sleeping except when I call.

The key to car travel is you get them tired ahead of time with play.

I hope Nathan takes photos. If so, I will try to share them tonight. Dennis has to go to sleep when Nathan gets back as he is on night duty. 

Tomorrow we have the 8 week visit. I am trying to get our daughter to come during this time so I can visit with the families vs staying with Adele. Hoping it works out. 

I can't believe that they are 2 weeks away from going home. How did that happen? 

More later... even if it is to say he forgot to take photos. hahahahaha lord knows I have nagged him enough to remember including a note on the phone.

Almost 8 Week Old Baths Plus New Followup

This is first born. Be sure to check out the rest of the photos in the gallery. All three were great and I find this basket helps with pups and with adults. With the adults it keeps the feet dryer. This means faster to dry and it works the same for the pups but also gives them this contained comfort feel.

Oh my gad are they adorable or what! I think the term cute as a button comes to mind.

As we are on puppy watch with Adele the blogs are going to be small. Apologies but concentrating on blogs, attending to her and grooming the rest is enough.

Tomorrow most likely they head to the vets with just Nathan. He promises to take photos. I am going to hold him to that. The timing sucks for me but it's life.

But oh my are they adorable or what!! I know, I said that but so true!

7 Weeks 4 Days Old

In one of the videos I talk about #2 getting up on the chair but it was #1. She is such an interesting one but truly they all are. I said to Nathan the other day Saffron really makes outstanding pups and she does. Their personalities are truly wonderful!

Tomorrow if Adele doesn't have pups I will give all of them a bath. Well I will give them a bath but no photos taken if Adele gives birth and I will have to work around her. 

They are so funny watching them run and hop. 

I can't believe Saturday is the 8 week visit. How did all this time go by so fast?

Getting to Know the Dogs

Here is today's gallery. Odin is wondering what are you doing, pups?

The pups are slowly getting to get to know all the adults. This is there slow conditioning to the dogs. They have no fear. They only have curiosity. But some of the adults are better than others. Some think of them as gremlins especially when they insist on getting them to play. They will learn the receptive signs and the ones that are not receptive. 

Saffron is almost done weaning. They still try but the last 2 mornings she has stopped feeding them in the morning and they are getting it. She tends to now only feed when she needs a release. Eventually she will no longer have milk. 

These pups have been good. Sometimes they keep at it despite mom saying no. It hinders them learning from mom. But she seems to be able to get that balance and get them to understand. This age is critical as when they are weaned or almost weaned mom can teach them by play. 

The pups are amazing.... truly!

7 Weeks 2 Days Old Tonight

Let's see #1 is the expert roller these days. She has such fun with it. Number 2 does the stairs well after the big first one. The first born is curious and loves to explore. The third one looks and creates fun. they don't play bite with each other till the other one lets out a sound. They don't seem to be all that rough with each other.

7 Plus Weeks Old

Puppies played indoors and outdoors. As a matter of fact it is so warm they are out playing with Dennis now.

We also had a puppy potential family come and they spent time with the pups. The pups seem to love everyone. It's delicious. They are delicious!

Stairs Too

Yes, I regularly climb the stairs to see my mom. I am so proud of myself. I don't go down the stairs outdoors but I surely go up.

We played indoors as well in the familyroom. We are slowly getting exposed to all rooms. 

We now eat solid hard food. Mom is feeding us less. 

We had a deworming the other day and our output stayed solid. 

Soon we will have our vet visit. We are heading there 6 days from now. If Adele has her pups I may not be able to go. :-( We shall see. If I don't go no photos. I doubt I can get Nathan to take them. We shall see. We will go with the flow depending on how it all unfolds.

I Can Fly

The pups are testing out their agility abilities. :-)

Each day they are learning and perfecting and trying. It is wonderful to watch.

Odin, Murphy, Stormy and Raven played with them today. We try to limit how many at a time as this would be flooding the pups and too difficult to watch. Each new dog you have to watch to make sure they want to be there. It throws some dogs off to have a team of gremlins chasing them.

Edging up on 7 Weeks

What big eyes you have, mom. Pups had fun playing with Tenshi and Marco today and Logan when they were out in the wide open.

Each day they perfect their skills. They are amazing and such fun and loving pups. Safi loves watching them so. She sits at their xpen and watches them. Other dogs play with them and she tries to play with them instead. It's interesting!

Outside Adventure Today!

The pups were on the deck, in the familyroom and roaming around over the cover and around the paths. They had a busy and fun day!

They now go up the stairs to our bed when they are upstairs. They slide down the slide. they are amazing pups!

Saffron was trying to wean them today but she got so full she was going to burst so she let them feed this afternoon. Poor thing!

Small Update Today

If the door is open 2 can escape now. The littlest can't yet. Here is a very tiny gallery.

Dennis is playing with them upstairs again. I keep yawning. The pups always manage to have fun even if you are tired.

They have so many teeth now. They are adorable and truly a ton of fun!

Outside Play With Adults

The pups had a play session outside and Tenshi joined in on the fun. Odin wanted to come in but he plays like Stormy - a bit too rough for the dogs at the moment. As they perfect their skills with the gentle play dogs they will be able to play with the ones that are more physical. This happens in a couple of weeks.

It got too wet out there so we ended up coming inside. Some of the adults watched the pups from up on the upper deck and some let it be known vocally they wanted in.

Tomorrow we will be doing another deworming and making a vet appointment. The pups are pure pleasure.

Hall Times

We got to play outside for a very short time. See the gallery. Then the rain and the high wind came and all future play sessions was in the hall. Dennis will be taking them upstairs tonight to play in the upstairs hallway. They are getting exposed to different environments.

They have really got the hang of running through the tunnel and puppy 2 actually cleared it and jumped over it. I sure wish I caught that on video but I have a sneaky suspicion that she will do it again!

6 Week Visit

We had a quieter 6 week visit with only 2 families but I believe it was a good one. Here is the gallery. 

Plus they had their first time upstairs with Dennis. Here is his photos. 

I must have hit the wrong setting or something as the voice kept going in and out. I was just going to take those portions out but instead just left it all. I apologize. I can be so inept at times and well I make mistakes like everyone else but there is significant amount of audio and I do hope you enjoy. See the video. 

Pups slept for hours after. They are about to get up and we are about to feed dogs. Nathan had his nap and I fell asleep on the couch with a bunch of dogs and Dennis stayed up. 

I do believe no matter which puppy each family gets they will adore them. I think all 3 are rather outstanding.

Bath and Fun

First Gal Born

How did I do? I didn't play but I didn't complain and I loved the dryers.

Second Born

How did I do? I could care less about the bath except when too much water got in my face in my opinion. Oh I didn't somplain but I sneezed and shook my head then gave that human a look. :-) I also didn't mind the dryers.

Third Born

Who cares about the bath, the dryer - just let me play but rub and massage that head and back again will ya?

Pups had a number of sessions out playing. Tomorrow they get to see their familes. It looks like rain so no outdoor session. It may actually be in the hall. I have a method to my madness. A smaller area with just 2 families will promote more interaction vs. a larger area where they can roam.

Let's see we have Chili, Ancho Chili, Jalapeno (Hallie), Cilantro, Coriander (Corey), Fennel (Fennie), Cayenne (Kai), Sage, Sassafras and on and on.... so much to think about. 

On the Move

Here is today's gallery. 

The pups have learned to use their mouth to get out of the xpen. But the thing is we do not respond till they are quiet. That's how you stop that vocal chorus. It's working and we get to do the work for you. heh

Tomorrow the pups are getting their first baths. They are such little things and will look cute all wet. Then Saturday they get to see their humans. How lucky is that?

They love to say hi to the adult dogs. They go investigate wherever they can. They are truly wonderful pups. Can't wait to show them off to their families.

Posing Adorable

Wait till you view the photos as she has a whole series of poses. What a munchkin - a cute one at that! She is a tiny thing that has a big, fun personality. I just love these 3. Though today they started saying let me out to play and I ignored them till they were quiet. We do not reward whining to get out and they quickly learn what works and what does not. The pups have been out 4 times today. One time I said no video, no photos. I will just lay here and play with the pups and oh boy right through the hair, over my body, kisses everywhere. It is a riot.

Here's to Firsts

Let's see we had some firsts. Saffron came to bed with me and as this is her 2nd litter she knew what that meant. The pups went upstairs in a new set up right across the hall with us away from Mommy. We do this to get them conditioned to no mom. This starts the process of getting them to be the best they can be when they go home. 

I always say to myself is this the right time for these pups. A lot of thought goes into it. They have to be eating and drinking and sleeping well. 

I watch them off and on all night on my tablet. I can't help myself. I do nod off but I do check frequently and I can hear them via the tablet and I can hear them as they are close. They just can't see us. This is the start of independence from mom.

How did they do? They were wonderful. They used the crate to sleep and sleep they did most of the night. They only had 1 accident off the pad. Good one little ones. They are learning!

They were sleeping when Nathan came to get them. No crying. They ate from mom when they came downstairs.

They also saw visitors today outside and did really well. Unfortunately no photos or videos as I was not there - Nathan was. 

They LOVE playing and coming out. 

Friday they get their first baths. Saturday they will have their families visiting. 

What a fun week and they are truly agile beings. Just love them!!

5 Weeks 2 Days Old Tonight

Nathan said everyone is going to love this cute little chipmunk. They are all characters but you can't help loving her spunkiness and she is the smallest.

Nathan is going to send mail about the 6 week visit.

Dennis is setting up the xpen upstairs as we are going to put them upstairs and Saffron is coming to bed with me. By the time we head to bed it will be 1030 to 11 and we will get them up at 7am. That means 8 to 8 and a half hours alone but on camera. Will we be watching them and listening .... you bet. 

Tomorrow I have to go get another camera as we have a moire effect on one when you move it. Dennis is going to try it again. 

Be sure to check out the videos. Murphy and Roxie was exposed to the pups. It was the first time for the puppies to spend time with the big havanese other than their mom. This particular video is uploading now so it may or may not be there yet. Be patient and it will arrive. At the moment that I am typing this it says 42 minutes till arrival. 

Tomorrow we - okay me - will upload the videos of them upstairs. 

The pups are growing up and they are so delicious as you can see if you watch the videos. Each has a personality plus!

So Many Hall Visits

The puppies are too smart for their own good. Now they wake up, eat, do their duty and then they let me know it is time to go to the hall to play. Love it!

We have one puppy that has perfected her rolls. It's a riot.

Here is today's gallery.

Tomorrow I play catch-up on groomings and baths. We are delaying our turkey as we have roast still and well I am not up to it. We can always do it during the week. Nathan made some chicken and I spliced it up larger and the pups and the dogs loved it as it was warm - just cooked. They are doing better about eating. If you leave it whole it is too big at this stage and if you cut it up too small it dries out too fast so I am splicing it up in-between and yum they eat and are gaining big tummies. It is hard to take their weights at this point as they move too much but 1 is just under 2lb and the other 2 is over. 

All 3 are real characters and you can't help but enjoy them. I do!
