Nails and Walking 17 Days

Here is the gallery.

Well, it was time to do nails so lots of photos today and inbetween each puppy, I kept taking photos of one of the boys walking all over the whelping box. They are getting of age. I need to catch the walking on video but I am moving slow. I have  knee and back issue so the body is not cooperating. Sorry but I will manage to catch.

Next stage when they all start walking together - and that will happen, they will have to come out of the whelping box.

I will be uploading the videos shortly. Not many again but a visual for you.

More and more are attempting to stand up and try this walking thing. By 3 weeks, they will be even more active. What will Sage do when they are. LOL

They are ever so cuddly and enjoy being held.

2 Weeks and 1 Day Old

Here is the gallery.

Pups are doing well. One of the gals has loose stools but still gaining. Soon they will need their nails done. It is getting to be at that time. A few more are trying to get up on their legs. That is exciting.

Can't wait till they are really walking around. Then teh excitement truly begins.

Videos are found here.

2 Weeks Old

Here is the gallery.

Pups are all cuddled in. They are 2 weeks old now. Only the 1st born gal is attempting to walk so far. It is rather early. It is usually around 3 weeks.

I finally put a couple of visual toys in their whelping box.

I am trying a background remover plug in just for the fun of it.

Videos can be found here.

Blogs are short as this is our anniversary and well we want to semi celebrate.

One Day Short of 2 Weeks

Here is the gallery.

Pups are 1 day shy of 2 weeks and all eyes are open. I need to find tooys and put them in the whelping box. What is their next milestone? When they start drunken walking and trying to get out of the whelping box, it will be time to remove the whelping box. They are not there yet.

They are fat and eat well. The last 2 gals gain the least. May be an indicator that they will be on the small size. We shall see. I do see an odd puppy climbing up and over their siblings. They are getting more active but sleep and eat mostly at this stage.

Now Sage and Misty are competing over Starter Mousse. They have 2 bowls but they each want both for themselves. The gam

First born gal with eyes open.

This is a boy with eyes open. Hmm is he the right one? I have only 1 puppy without their eyes open and I suspect it will be tonight when the eyes open.

Here is the gallery.

Pups are doing well. The 2 last pups their weight gain has slowed down. The 1st born gains the most.

It is damp and miserable outside so the heatlamps are going strong and the pups choose to sleep under them.

Pups are doing well. I need to find some small toys so they have visual happiness. LOL

Videos are always found here.

11 Days 2nd Eyes Open Gal

Here is the gallery.

Well she almost has her eyes open. One is completely - other is half. I will have to check to see if the squinty eye is wide open but they are sleeping.

When will the remaining 3 open theirs? We shall see.

Videos will be found here. Didn't take too many but will try to take more.

Yes the eyes are independent so they can have 1 eye

10 Days Old 1 Boy Eyes Open

Here is the gallery.

So it begins..... As I stated, I thought they eyes would start opening today and 1 boy has. The rest not yet. He is calm, cool and collected. You hold him and he is ever so calm and curious.

Soon they will need their nails done as they are starting to get long.

Pups have gained and are doing well. When all their eyes open, I will start adding toys to the whelping box so they have a visually pleasing area. At least I think it is pleasing with toys. We  shall see.

Life is just about to begin for these little ones. After eyes open for a bit, we will get them out of the whelping box. Imagine that.

Videos not yey uploaded today at 2pm but will be shortly can be found here.

9 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

This crew has squinty eyes. That is the 1st sign that they will open their eyes soon. It usually occurs 10 days on but some do not open till day 21. It all depends and it has nothing to do with anything but when it is time, it is time. Until then, they can only smell and feel. They can't hear or see. When the eyes open the hearing also begins. They have all the senses they need at this stage as they can find mom without any issue. They will also find the heat if cold. You will often find them dispersed if warm and cuddled together if cool. They also like to cuddle just for the togetherness factor. But watching positions is an indicator of their needs.

We have heatlamps that are regulated. When they drop below a certain point they turn on and when they reach the top amount they shut down. This was thanks to Dennis who figured out how to automate the temperature. Far cry from when we had our 1st litter. Each year you find a way to help the pups more and make life easier.

This crew is gaining well. The 2 last pups remain the smallest. That is usually an indicator that they will be small. Time will tell.

Videos can be found here.

8 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

Pups and Mom are doing well. Sage can stand to be a bit less nosey but otherwise, she is good and Misty and her go out tog`ether to do their duty.

I see squinty eyes so I suspect in a couple of days they may start opening their eyes. Imagine that - a milestone!

I guess both moms are protective as Sage tries to cover hers. It's fun watching these 2 as soon they will relax.

Here are the videos.
