7 More Full Days Before Departure

Here is the gallery.

Cinnamon FINALLY is growling and telling them no more milk at the milkbar. I let moms figure it out but usually they do it before now. She loves the pups so. Every now and then she won't join the play session as they are relentless. I checked her and she is having less and less milk. This is good.

Pups are now eating 6-7 quarter cups at a meal. A week ago they were eating 5. Many times they head out the door with some not eating a 1/4c but this is normal. They are expelling a lot of energy so they need fuel. At your home they may need less or more (never more than 1/3c) as it depends on the activity level.

They played hard several times today and will be heading up in a bit then bed. I still didn't carry them around the back but its supposed to be warm tomorrow so maybe tomorrow is the day. If so, I will take photos while Nathan carries.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

Mid Week Play

Here is the gallery.

Pups look forward to going upstairs or out in the hall to play. When they are out in the hall and people drop off or pickup, they have a lot of conditioning to new people, new noises etc.

I am spending a lot of time doing things for the pups to go home so it has added a great deal to my - who has time for what in the day. So, bear with me if we have short blogs etc. I am only human and can do what I can in a given day. I know there is no one else that does this on a daily basis like I do. Last time I acquired a dog I think I saw 3 photos of her and no videos. Just saying...

Pups are about to be fed and will be heading out to play again. I will see what happened to yesterday's videos. If I can quickly fix or retreive I will. If not, sorry. I am only human. But I will try.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

Countdown Begins

Here is the gallery.

I was planning on walking every puppy in the Cinnamon crew outside in our arms but it didn't happen. We kept getting spitting rain each time they woke up. We will try another day although it is getting cold tomorrow.

Today is the last day Petey will be here so less play monkeys to play with the Cinnamon crew.

I have started making stuff for the pups departing. It takes a lot of time but I got the sherpa tags done. I am going to start on the placemats. I still do not have the pertinent info from one. <sigh>

I am not going to Rain's class tonight as I want to get things done. After all the items are made, I have to  fill all the bags and do the paper stuff. I sound like such a nag - sorry but to crunch at the end just before creates mistakes and takes away from the pups so doing it as time allows is required. As I do things, I do all of one item and all of the next item. It is faster that way but if I am doing 1 bag with all the items at once, it takes much longer. It is hard to explain but I have done it both ways and not doing 1 item x7 is easier than doing 1 item for 6 and then 1 coomplete bag. So, I am hoping I get the info today or tomorrow. My time is so limited that I try to not make extra work for myself.

If you haven't figured it out, I do the most with the pups - Dennis too and Nathan does the most with the adults - Dennis too. Does that make sense? I also grom so I have to fit everything in.

Today, while playing with the pups, I caught myself watching the pups sleep before we go downstairs. I wanted to create a memory. We usually take them down when 1 or 2 falls asleep. This time I waited till all fell asleep and just watched. It was a silly but enjoyable memory I created and life are special memories. It doesn't matter how many pups you have experienced, all are different and unique. You appreciate the uniqueness and you applaud the achievements. You will do this when they are in your home. Make time to guide, love and applaud the milestones. You can't capture what you don't create and moments are lost.

So, I hope you treasure these pups as they will give you back 10 fold. I know it sounds silly but they are truly magical beings. We only have 10 days till we are down to 5. All pups now will be departed by the 18th. The extra 2 days for the last would have been hard on the pup. It would have been hard on Cinnamon so I am glad that came together. Me, I would keep them forever but t hat is not feasible... a wonderful fun thought but hardly realistic.

With all that said, I hope we get to see some of this crew. We have been blessed to see Nami and Sage pups and the moms get so excited. I am glad.

Pups had fun. Dennis is feeding supper and I have videos to upload, 2 dogs getting picked up and more things to make.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

More Conditioning and Need Info

Meet Harper. She had a walk around the backyard in Nathan's arms. I want to do this with all as soon as I have time - maybe tomorrow. She will be the last to depart. The 1st 2 will be on the 15th.

Here is the gallery.

All pups have been assigned. I hope your excitement is building.

I still have 3 pups that I need the names and info on. Please ASAP so I can not be in a mad rush at the end. It is a LOT of work to get it all done.

First 2 pups will depart on the 15th. Then we have a gap for the last from the 18th to the 20th. That means 2 nights without her siblings. Hopefully she will settle in with Rain and Hope. We shall see.

Pups had a huge play session in the hall and they are now upstairs playing.

Let's see what names do we have so far? Taken in order of birth

Neesi, Koda, Harper, (no name), (no name), Newt, (no name)

As soon as I have the outstanding 3, I will start in the bags that I create.

2 tote bags with photo of your dog

blanket with your dog's name and photo on

Placemat doublefaced

Sherpa bag tag

t-shirt for the stuffie they bring home

road kill toy

dish for car

shampoo/conditioner

grooming spray

sample dog food, full bag of dog food

treat samples

Those with an existing dog, I need their name for the placemat and stuffie toy. I will be furnishing them with treats, as well.

I may have missed something but (haha) we will figure it all out.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

8 Week Visit Afternoon

Here is the gallery.

That concludes the last visit before they go home.

If you have not selected your pickup date, do so now, please and we need your top 3 picks as we can't figure it out till everyone has submitted.

Pups were great. People were great.

I am going to truly miss these pups.

They each are unique and fun in their own way. Never saw a litter so close in weight and temprament than this crew. I applaud Cinnamon for being such a even keel, let everything roll off her back dog who loves the pups so.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

8 Week Morning Visit

Here is the gallery.

We almost could have just done a morning visit as this is 5 families. 2 come this afternoon at 3.

Pups were great. They had a few accidents (8 week olds do) especially when humans are in front of the pad.

We had Hazel screaming to come out to play. Hope also but she stayed with Rain. Hazel came out and played and now she is napping with Nathan. Bonham thought they were gremlins - which they are at this stage.

We await the 3 top picks. Faster we get them the quicker you know who is yours. As soon as you know, I need all the pertinent info so I can start my end. We have a countdown of the 1st pup departing is on the 15th for 2 families - 1 morning, 1 afternoon. That is 12 days from now, wow. I guess I was pretending it was more. LOL

I hope you enjoyed the visit. Thank you to Sue for those too addicting Smores and thank you to Kim and John for the Tarts. The sugar may get us by.

Two more Ollies come for boarding tomorrow so no more Ollie names.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

Day Before Visit

Here is the gallery.

The pups are going to be excited to see all of you. We are having a morning visit and an afternoon visit. Going to be a long day for us but not for each of you. I will be interested to know if you see a difference between 6 and 8 weeks.

No one is sore. We did get some loose stool. They are playing like crazy. You will see this in the videos.

Vet Visit

I want you to know the vet visit was a tad late but that was due to picking up the microchips. So no coming back. We have concluded the vet visit, the shots and the microchip. Hooray! Everyone is healthy and relaxed.

Nathan did joke around saying you didn't check for the testicles and the vet said this is a girl. It was just fun banter.

I am going to put the last 4 digits of the microchip number on each photo entry so when you give us the top choices, we do not have to worry that you mean someone else. If worried, you can use our microchip reader to put the right # down on the pup you desire when you visit.

Heart rates were excellent with 4 being super chilled and 3 slightly and I mean slightly higher than the 4. Reality is, it means all was chilled.

No one yelped or wriggled. They were great. I doubt they will be sore. Soreness comes when they try to wriggle out of getting that microchip.

No one was nervous. No one had their heart racing due to nervousness. Everyone was chilled including the precocious gal. So, you can't pick your choices as to who is more chilled or active. They are really all even keel. Cinnamon - you make excellent pups.

This is the 1st gal. She now weighs 1.5kg 3.30lbs. Her# is 6623

I am not going to get into who did what as they were all really really great. I am serious too. Such an easy vet visit. She checked heart, bite, throat, eyes, patellas, temps, fecal, testicles for boys and if there were any hernias which do come when mom tries to rip the cord off after birth and it does happen. Sometimes moms are zealous and too fast. Cinnamon didn't do this so no hernias.

This is 2nd born, a boy and he weighs 1.90kg 4.188lbs His # is 7454

This is the 3rd born - a gal who I had put on the chart racoon eyes as her eyes are lighter, which makes her appear adorable, imho. She is also the escape artist and very agile.

She weighs 1.65kg 3.63lbs and her # is 5953. She has been playing catch up as she was always the smallest. I believe 1st born is now the 2nd smallest.

This is the 4th born and is a boy that looks much like Rain in colouring. He weighs 1.85kg 4.07lbs. His # is 7388

This is the 5th born and she is a gal. She weighs 1.60kg 3.52lbs. Her # is 9678

This is the 6th born and he is a boy. He weighs 1.45kg 3.19lbs. He is the smallest. His # is 1301

This is the 7th born and the last. It's the tri. She weighs 1.9kg 4.18lbs. Her # is 5475

Here is the gallery of the pups being seen by the vet. She is our local vet so if you live near us and do not have a vet, you may want to see her.

Here is the gallery after the vet playing - just them - no Rain, Hazel or Hope. They were napping.

I did not take video of them during the vets as they do not mind still photos but videos are intrusive. They did take a photo of Cinnamon and pups when they concluded.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

I will let you know if they do get loose bowels or soreness but think they will not. Next deworming will be Sunday night and then 2 days before departure to conclude the deworming.

Videos will go up shortly. I am extremely busy all weekend long and I mean extremely.

Bath Times

This is the 1st born gal. She was the 1st to get her bath. All the pups were good. Two were outstanding. :-)

Here is the bath gallery.

This is the 2nd born - a boy. I did clean up his eyes - everyone's actually. I did their pads and clipped around the rectum. The next bath the day before departure, I will round their feet. I didn't today as I had a lack of time.

This is the 3rd born - a girl. She always poses. LOL

th gallery.

This is the 4th born - a boy - darker one.

This is the 5th born gal. She was so adorable.

This is the 6th born and he is a boy.

This is the last born and she is a gal. She is a tri.

Checkout the gallery of the play after the baths.

You will have to watch the videos to see who was the best for the bath experience.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

Pups will have their vet visit tomorrow morning in the same order. Unfortunately the small microchips are not in so she will have to come back to insert them. I am not thrilled by this but I have no control over it. They will have their full checkup and shots tomorrow. They will get their microchips after the vet receives them. She will not charge us for the 2nd visit as it was not under our control. Tomorrow's visit she will charge us for the wellness, shots and microchips. Insertion at a date after arrival will not come with an extra cost. I am hoping if they are not in till late Friday or Saturday that we do the microchips on  Monday or Tuesday. Even though it will delay my doing everything I need to do, I don't want them to be sore when you get to visit them. I will let you know when they arrive and when it will be done.

Crazy Fun Times

Here is the gallery.

We got to see Hazel in class last night and it was wonderful. Rain and Hazel are in the same class.

Today Hazel and Coco arrived for their play day and Hazel, being the precocious being that she is had the pups chasing her up and down the hall. It was hysterical.

They were busy today and still the older pups and younger ones still can play with each other. How wonderful is that?

They were busy, busy - all of them today. Coco departed. Hazel will depart shortly. Life is fun if you are a pup - especially here. I had a wide smile watching them today!

Rainy Daze

Here is the gallery.

I have a very busy day today and it is raining and raining outside. So, bear with me. Someone asked me about the largest sable gal. It is interesting as she plays a game with one of her siblings of grab the toy and you can chase me now if you want it back. I think she is mischevious in a fun way. It is not malicious but truly instigating play. She most often wins too. Not sure if that answers your question but take the time to watch and observe them on their next visit.

Pups played hard today and now they are napping.

Stamina

Here is the gallery.

Here is the - almost going to sleep - face after playing upstairs. They do play. They run and pounce and even climb then fall fast asleep. They do last longer than the 6 week visit but it all depends on who is sleeping when. After play upstairs, they do come downstairs and sleep in unison. They are eating well. I was going to weigh them this week but they have the vet on Friday so we will wait for that. I was dreaming of all sorts of ways to keep them on the scale. It is a crazy thought process as to what I can put around the scale when they attempt to jump off but when it is vet time and the scale is on high, they often cooperate.

I think I was told that the large sable gal was one I have not spoke about. It is interesting as she is really a pup that is not demanding. She plays. She cuddles into my neck likes she means it. She tends to be consistent about the pad use. But I am not going to continue till I focus on her tomorrow.

What is Coming Up?

Here is the gallery.

Let's see, on Friday at 9am, the vet is coming to our home to do the checkups, microchips and shot. We are using our local vet as our repro is out of town. We want them to stay on schedule so they can get into class in a timely manner. I know due to our repro vet and where she was, we failed on the last ones.

As pups sometimes get sore or loose bowels due of the stress of the microchip insertion hurting, we have the puppy visit coming up on Sunday to give them time to recover, if necessary. That means on Thursday I am doing individual baths and photos. Each pup takes 15 minutes each and depending on photos, it can be a bit more. We shall see how it goes. I have a new idea on placing each pup on a couch to take a photo so I can have handless photos to use for blankets, totes, tags etc

The 1st pup departs on the 15th. So, if you have not booked your pickup, please let Nathan know.

Pups had a great time today. I squeaked toys to guage their reaction - none. We will continue to test them with sounds. I did have storms on the tv very loud and no reaction but if I say puppy puppy they come running. To be fair, I have been putting on storm signs for quite sometime and its just noise. The 1st time they did scatter but recovered fast.

We have had play sessions without Hope and Rain on purpose in the morning when I take videos and they head up with Dennis so all 9 will play later in the day. This way you can watch videos to see what pups you are interested in. I am trying to make your picks easier. lol

It is going to be lonely without the pups, I must admit. Less work but I am going to miss them. Hope that some come to visit especially when the pool is open so we can take them swimming.

Wean

Here is the gallery.

When does mom wean? She has her own timeline but if not by 8 weeks, we help it along by feeding mom less. She has reduced the times she feeds them already. They do have teeth, after all.

Not sure who in the crew I have forgotten to give you insight with, Let me know. I am losing track.

I do know the larger sable boy is smart and I mean very smart. I had a puzzle out and he was the 1st one to figure it out. Bravo!

Today I flushed toilets, dropped hard toys and everyone reacted well. I will continue to expose them to sounds. I am going to start doing storms on my computer to see if they react with low to loud.

Up and Downstairs

Here is the gallery.

Pups had the pleasure of playing upstairs and downstairs. It is good to mix it up. We had visitors for 2 different reasons so Nathan didn't get his nap in till later so the pups played on the 1st floor with me.

The brown brindle with a black streak on its back that most looks like Rain is a Fun dog. He runs like he means it - hard to explain but he has a real exhuberence with everything he does then he crashes. He is a kisser so be warned - highly affectionate.

I am doing the blog now as they just went back to their xpen and are all fast asleep.

So far, they have had an amazing fun day. I think I need a nap too.

Continuing

Here is the gallery.

The afternoon play was just the Cinnamon pups on purpose so you can see how they play without the older pups.

Let's talk about the littlest boy and the littlest girl. They are fun pups. They run. They jump and they hold their own. You can't tell they are the smallest unless you look and hold them. I would categorize them as spunky. They surely try to climb and pounce out at the others.

Puppies Galore

Here is the gallery.

Today we had 11 pups playing upstairs. Oh boy, that was fun. They ran. They played and they are attempting to climb up on the dog couch bed. They had a total blast with the older pups. Unfortunately Coco is going home anytime so it will just be the fun of the Hazel and of course Rain and Hope.

To continue on the theme of what we see - realize that this can and often does change. Sometimes they are who they are from the start.

This black and white gal is not a high energy pup. She plays. She lays on her back in confidence and then she will nap. Sometimes she full out runs and plays. She is one of those hard ones to figure out which lends me to believe we will not see who she is till closer to 8 weeks. She can sleep in a noisy house and remain sleeping but turning on the tv with any kind of a loud sound wakes her up to say - hey you interruped my sleep. I will put her in the category of she is still evolving.

What Do I See

Here is the gallery.

I am going to fill you in here and there with what I see in the pups 1 at a time here and there.

Today, as I was taking photos and videos and observing, I noticed the tri pup was full of it but she crashed earlier than the rest. I will watch if that means she was sleeping before coming out or she has an exhuberence within her and simply expels her energy faster than the others. She is spending a lot of time attempting to do new things. Her brain, thus far is interesting to me as she doesn't give up nor does she get frustrated. She just tries again. She also runs like the wind.

Each day I will try to cover 1 pup and those observations may change as they get older.

I do find it fascinating that 9 week difference doesn't make a difference for these pups and it is not just the older pups that lend me to believe that their temprament is outstanding. Usually 2 weeks, at this age is the maximum you want to mix in play. That changes as they get older till age doesn't matter but it gives you a bit of insight as to who they are. I thought initially maybe it was a 1 off or a 2 off but each day, many times a day they play together.

What have I found from this experience? The older pups dumb down their play and are gentle and the younger attempt to do what the older pups can achieve. This benefits both ages, IMHO.

Cinnamon is a laid back dog. She is a very friendly, playful and yes kissy kissy where I know some do not enjoy but you can stop the kisses, if so desired. It is curbing their affection but they are people pleasers and will curtail their affection if you so desire. To me though, you are missing out but that's just me.

Catch Up Day

Here is the gallery.

The pups are wonderful. They had a lazy but fun play session and are upstairs again with Dennis.

Petey - a Nami pup was upstairs trying to eat the pad. I corrected him not once but twice and the 2nd time he stopped and looked at me as if to say why are you taking my fun away? Well, we do not want you to teach Cinnamon's pups to do the same. We so try.

They chased nathan today. They ran. They jumped and had a blast.

6 Week Visit

Here is the gallery.

I belive we had a good visit. Pups were not afraid. They said hello. They played then conked out. They are delicious. I am so proud of these little ones. We will see how their personalities unfold by week 8. Some stay true to form from birth on and some keep changing till about 8 week when you can see who they are. With these pups, so far they seem most like mom. They are happy go lucky - all is right in the world wonders. I don't say that lightly either.

Thank you to Sue for the chicken aand Kim (did I get that right - my mind is fried) for the stew. It is deeply appreciated! It was wonderful to see all of you enjoying!

Pups have already been out for a play session again and will be coming out before bedtime. They are now playing 3 or 4 times outside the pen. They are not demanding but sure love it when you take them out.

Nathan mentioned the kitchen. As I take the pups out and Dennis does - they have never been playing in the kitchen. They were extremely comfortable even with all the people in a new environment.

I still need to upload the videos and that will come in a bit.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.
