Three Odd Man Out?

You would think with 3 there would be one that would be the odd man out but not with this trio. They are LOVING the play with each other. As I type they are running upstairs with Dennis. We have spent a lot of time upstairs with them as we are getting bedrooms ready for our daughter and our grandkids to move in. I swear it feels like moving So, as they are playing we are often moving things here and there at times too. It is good as they get used to the movement and the noises.

The pitter patter of running feet is something else!

Here is a gallery of their outdoor play.

Be sure to check out the Adele blog to see the videos.

Cleaning

Roxie is forever cleaning ears on her pups. Actually she still cleans Stone like he is a pup from head to toe. But what if you want to wash your pup. What is the process?

It helps to have a suction cup and a lead. If you don't it's a little more difficult but doable. First make sure you comb out your dog before his/her bath as knots when wet get tighter. At the puppy stage, it should be an issue and if you fins a knot you can usually easily pull it apart.

Get your puppy wet, squirt the shampoo through the hair and do not rub but instead pull the product from top to bottom of hair shaft. Rubbing creates knots. If you are in a hurry you can do shampoo and conditioner agt the same time unless they are REALLY dirty.

Rinse thoroughly and I mean rinse till no product comes out. Product left in hair can create knots and scratching. Brush the dog out wet, then comb the dog out and then dry. I usually do either brushing or combing throughout drying but I like the look when doing so. When I say either I mean I comb, then I brush, I comb and then brush. I am looking for knots. Be sure to spray your comb/brush with OMG not on hair when it is almost dry. It will stop static and lightly coat the cuticle.

Hope this answers bathing questions. If not, ask away.

Here are a few videos.

To the Vets

We were on our way to the vets. What did we see? We saw all size dogs. We saw the vet. We saw the staff. We even saw Charlie. No shakes but even if we had a little, that is how we gain our coping skills. I have to admit the best part was seeing Charlie.

They poked us with a needle. They put this thing called a thermometer where the sun doesn't shine. Oh and we got on the scale and well we eat too much. Charlie is fine. He's normal. Us, we gained (River) 1lb 9.5 oz in 3 weeks and well Stone (me) gained 2lb 2 oz. Now that is a record. So, we like to eat.

Here's a very small gallery. We have to get back to having fun. Typing with these paws is time consuming.

More tomorrow...

Stone's Bath

Really, this is so dawginizing...

Bet you thought we were done with these photos but hey we needed a bath too. We are off to the vets tomorrow for our 2nd shot. Here are the bath photos.

We needed baths as we also had a play session in the rain today and Stone was trying to figure out how this rain was increasingly hitting him in the head and all over his body. It was a riot. You can also see their hunt for the treat game that kept them busy. Treats were tiny too but enough.

How did he do. He was great. Fussed a little then settled in for I suppose I need to be dried.

Duo is confused. They will love it when Charlie comes back for a holiday tomorrow.

Check out Adele's blog as I will be linking to videos taken today and over the last 2 days that you haven't seen.

Now Down to 2

Keika has now departed and we have River and Stone left. I am going to add a few videos you didn't see the past couple of days plus last night and today. Coming soon.

Wednesday we get our shots and weights will be posted. We will be continuing to fill you in on these two and of course anyone who visits. It may be on Roxie's blog. It may be on Adeles but you will be able to keep up with the duo.

Right now they are not eating. Even though this is home to them they don't know what is going on. They are ever so quiet. Today they will have play sessions with the adults. Anyone who is not crazy about them will go chill in the tv room with one of us. This is the start of their conditioning.

Mickey's New Family

He whimpered a little until he got to the highway but he ate a bit and is exploring etc.

It's getting really quiet. This is the last of our Roxie crew that is departing. I am glad she has Stone. She's now cleaning him all over. Can't wait till this crew gets together for a playdate.

Here's a gallery of his new family. Also, here is the videoThis is also the gallery of the pups remaining before Mickey departed.

Mickey's Bath: 2 Updates Today

Mickey had a bath and I now have to say he was AMAZING in the bath. He must be Roxie - a laidback - oh that is water - oh a blow dryer - no problem. He was absolutely a dream at bath time.

Here are his bath photos

He sure looks like a fluff ball cutie with silky hair like his Momma. He is the last of the Roxie pups to depart and Keiki is the last of the Adele pups to depart on Monday. It happens too soon for us. :-)

2 Update Night: Alvin's New Family

Alvin went home this afternoon and his family made a really creative banner for his departure.

Here are their family photos.

We heard that Alvin was fine on the way home and then he took a good nap after he explored his new home for a bit. He didn't eat his supper but that is quite normal. They will start eating when they relax about their surroundings. They are going through so many changes - no siblings, new home etc. Don't worry if they do not eat their first day. They do adjust. Play helps.

We are going to miss Alvin but glad they live close by.

Here is the gallery before Alvin departed.

Can't believe we are down to 4. Tomorrow Mickey departs. Be sure to check out his bath photos too.
