Pups are Here: Gallery Added Videos Added

Click on Photos for Larger ViewFirst one at 5oz - 144grams girl born at 415pm. She is actually a tri with one white shoulder. No second stage for us and not a single noise. Glad I am observant. Next one is coming soon. We are seeing the bubble and she is pushing.

Just one photo for each pup and then I will do a gallery.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewSecond one born is a tri with apricots on his cheeks. He was born at 509pm and weighs 5-3/8oz 154grams.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewThe 3rd one is a boy that is cream with gold markings. He weighs 6-1/4oz - 180grams. He was born at 526pm. We are waiting for the 4th.

Click on Photo for Larger View4th one born at 610pm is a gal who weighs in at 5-1/2 oz - 156 grams.

Will do a gallery in a bit. Lori or was that Roger called it - 2 gals 2 boys. All are healthy, active, eating and the last gal made a noise over and over when we tried to weigh her. It seems she was hungry.

This type of a birth is why I stay up. She never made a sound. They just plopped out.

Jeannie was just cleaned up and when she was walking back it was with a waggy waggy tail of excitement and a bounce in her step. I do believe the gal is proud!

Gallery is here. It will be all unedited photos so the messiness will be there. I also took some videos.

Here they are. Just captured moments. It is a little crazy balancing everything when whelping.

3 Updates Now Plus Another Nesting

We are nesting from place (First Stage Active Labor) to place but just realized one video I had dust and hair under the table. Ignore that. I just cleaned it up. Oh the things you find on a video. But it was too cute to not share despite my embarrasment.

It's Been a Long Night: Plus Updates

No puppies yet but finally temps went back up. The rule of thumb is when they go back up (went back up this morning) it is usually within 24 hours. Jeannie is nesting. She had destroyed the whelping box towels many times over. She is restless and I am trying to get her to sleep.

I am still glad I washed and trimmed up Abby late last night as rush jobs are never fun nor as good. Now all I have is a comb out of Scruffy and Pepper that I will do shortly and do a quicker one before departure plus comb out Abby before home.

I had no sleep last night. It's hard as I love my dogs more than imagination can fathom. So I worry and check and check and check. Even though Nathan went into the other room he said the dogs didn't let him sleep. Then he was upset as I said maybe last night as the vet insisted it was 12 hours after drop. It is 12 hours after rise. I know better. So we are both terminally exhausted so lets hope for an easy delivery and all fat and healthy pups.

It is cloudy. It is misting and depressing outside. It means lots of paw cleanups. I am tired. I am hungry. I realized Nathan should do some food shopping but Jon has work so thankfully he is 10 minutes away and his boss is on alert in case we need to go to the vets. We have one car. We are working on having another this month. People do not make $$ from dogs even though it appears to be a way of making a living, it isn't. Each time you are ahead something happens and you are in the negative.

I say all this as I have a friend moving to a farm that thought dog breeding would be a great way of making a living. It is not. You must do it for the love of the dogs. It is a LOT of work. It can also bring heartache. When we have pups its a 24 hour watch. Sure some sleep and let life just do its things with the what will be will be but I can't do that so until the pups are older Dennis or I do the all night duty. It means one of us is sleeping during the day and woken up constantly with people coming and going. Nathan needs his sleep so no night time duty for him. You are a zombie but then you look at the precious beings and how happy mom is and you know that it is worth everything.

I am hoping I can get a GoPro this month. Thank you to a friend that gave me a birthday gift I am halfway there. Nathan balked and said what do you need that for? The unique perspective I can get of the pups and the dogs will make moments to treasure. Plus it does under water and can you imagine puppy legs in the pool? I am an artistic person. I used to have time for such things but now I have dogs and photography so a GOPRO silver with a chest holder is in the cards cause guess what sometimes you need an indulgence. Till then I will use my foscam to take videos of the pups after they are born but I will not be taking videos during delivery. It is too stress-filled, messy and enough to take photos. Nathan thinks I am crazy as I am taking photos when focus should be on Jeannie but I think I do balance that quite well.

So pups today - we shall see. What time... have no clue but when we have active labour I will post.

I give up. I may take a nap before Abby is picked up. This gal ate some beef sausage and no progress. Is she fooling us? She's going to kill me for sure and all of you too I imagine.

Temp Drop

It went down to 98.5 and its on its way back up so we are now officially on puppy watch. No labor yet but I will check temps again.

But due to Abby departing tomorrow I rushed and did her bath tonight and will just freshen her up tomorrow. I can't say when pups will come as its 12 to 24 hours when it starts climbing back up.

Abby had her pads done, trimmed her feet, cleaned up her chest and put up her top hair. Then she rolled right after. I laugh. Hoping I can comb her out and have her perfect in time for mom. Got to brush and comb out Scruffy and pepper for their departure too. Oh well looks like I won't be sleeping tonight so I hope sooner than later. We shall see.

PS: Good thing Nathan packed up his show stuff and brought it home. Guess no show for him.

Better Late Plus Rubdown

Well she is holding on and Daddy is at the show. No signs. At this rate the vet is totally wrong and maybe she will go to her last due date? What is that? 6 more days? hahahaha We shall see. I am not getting much sleep.

Funny story - Lori and Roger came in and Jeannie did the drop and roll - run my tummy and when Roger didn't she did a play growl to get him to do it again and again. Oh Jeannie you are so funny!

Temps Today: Updates Daily Will Be Added to End of Post

Sitting at 99.7 and Daddy is at a show so can you wait till Monday? I surely hope so. The issue with waiting for pups you may look at the blog and wonder. I check all night long. Someone said to me she would wake you up. Not necessarily. I may hear her but its that nagging thought that what if something happens. So, you check all night long. By the time you have pups you are terminally exhausted and so it begins.

Add to it that Panda may be in heat it gets crazy. We have visitors. Kat and Truffie has to be segregated and not in the same room. Then you have to have Panda in with Jeannie and Spice but when pups come Jeannie will get stressed and not do well with others in the room. Sleeping arrangements are interesting. Glad we have a few of us here.

This morning I read my horoscope. I never read horoscopes but I wanted a laugh and that I got. It read:

You might be doing some last minute thinking about getting out of town for a day or so.

You are likely to give in to this impulse. An appointment or meeting may keep you grounded. Make plans to start the weekend as early as possible. Tonight: Let the party begin!
------
UPDATE: She ate a full meal for lunch and no temp drop. Guess the vet was wrong. I wasn't crazy about Friday the 13th deliveries even though I am not superstitious.

Still Nada

Click on Photo for Larger ViewTemps are now 100.8. Looks like Nathan is going to class and tomorrow we shall see about the show. The vet saying today or tomorrow... meaning tomorrow as today is not turning out. Can we now wait till Monday, Jeannie. I would get so much done. hahahaha

Click on Photo for Larger ViewYou can just go on resting, keeping me up so by the time you have babies I am in need of much coffee.

X-rays and Vets

Click on Photo for Larger ViewClick on Photo for Larger ViewLooks like 4 in position ready to come - some feet first some head first. Vet feels tonight or tomorrow. Temps have NOT dropped but she has puffiness in her private area which says they are in position ready to come when they decide to. One can always be hidden but we can clearly see 4. All look to be of size and calcified.

Jeannie did not eat dinner tonight nor would she eat a cheeseburger.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewJeannie weighs in at 13lbs 6 oz

Click on Photo for Larger ViewShe is sleeping and not showing any signs of labor. They usually stop eating just before.
