Communal and Grass

The puppies seem to enjoy the bigger communal bowl as they don't feel so crowded sharing. Jeannie is weaning them as they have started putting bruises on her - not intentionally. It always happens. Momma corrects and they eventually get it. But the lure of the possible milk is too intoxicating. Eventually they do get it and Mom can play with them better without worrying about them trying to sneak a drink.

They always try to wean them about this time. By the time they go home they are weaned. Its a process for pup and for mom.

We were out in the grass today. We have now had them on the walkways, the deck, the grass. We have had them upstairs, outside of the xpen in my office, out in the hallway. We are exposing them to what we can.

Some found the leaves fascinating. They didn't eat them but rather carried them around.

And one found a stick and was delighted.

Now we are trying them on Denta-A-Roo sticks and they love them.

They are playing in my office as I type and having a blast.

The pups - well they are wonderful!

Slept & More

The pups are doing well with night time without mom. They didn't eat any food, pood on the pad and each time I checked they were sleeping. I also heard no noises last night. Bravo little ones!

Jeannie is no longer anxious to be with them. She knows the drill. Besides they are hurting her now with all their teeth. You can see the poor thing saying ouch with her expression. Pups are overzealous as they want the milkbar. This is a normal transition and she will spend weeks growling them off of her till they are completely just on food. Then and only then can she totally relax and simply play and teach them.

The pups are now drinking from the water dish quite nicely. But look at what Inula is up to.

The pups are also starting to get the pads. Check the video out.

The little gal is getting ready to pounce on her sibling. What expression!

The crew is really comfortable indoors, outdoors and when you get out the Sherpa bag they get so excited as they know it means they are going somewhere fun.

They love the play that only siblings can do quite like this.

Here are a few more videos.

6 Week Video & More

Here is the video from the 6 week visit. I had to help with the Roxie's pups feeding so I didn't get much. I am hoping the 8 week visit is one I can stay out for. I do not have video nor photos today as Nathan didn't take any and I rushed to get something when I came back home. It is rare that I get out so this was such a treat but I know the blogs suffer due to it. We will try better tomorrow.

The pups are 6 weeks old TONIGHT.

Puppy 6 Week Visit

We had our 6 week puppy visit and I am not sure I will get to the video till tomorrow night. Will try tonight but here is the gallery.

The pups were wonderful laid back beings that they are. Sure they wrestled. Sure they had fun but brace yourself as there is a huge difference between 6 and 8 weeks. They aren't crazy busy but they are more capable and have more energy.

I was helping Roxie feed pups for part of it and getting food for moms.

Jeannie is already starting to wean them as the pups have teeth. She doesn't mind feeding Roxies - you heard that right. We have tried that as we noticed the pups are frantic looking for that next nipple when they only get 1 slot and 2 get a 2nd. Roxie is fine with it and Jeannie is fine. We don't do it all the time but it surely helps Roxie. If she was stressed by it we wouldn't but she isn't. She trusts Jeannie. But she does lick them back up fully to get her scent back on them. :-) They are after all hers not Jeannies. :-)

Thank you to everyone that came. We appreciate you spending time with the pups.

More later....

First Time Upstairs & Playing Today Plus Video

How did we do? Well, we stayed close to each other and didn't eat a thing. We mostly went on our pad. I think we were a tad confused but then we came downstairs to a nice sterilized pen and we ate from mom then we ate food.

This transition is a good thing. It helps them to be independent, sleep through the night without feeding and adapt to changes. No whimpering but they did cuddle with each other. It tells me they found comfort in the change with each other. That's okay.

I suspect tonight they will be sleeping independently.

They already had their play session at 715amish after mom fed them. She is feeding them less and less forcing them to transition to food. She's smart. If she didn't they would be happy to just eat off of mom but today they ate the best yet! Bravo - it is working. Smart of you Jeannie and besides they have teeth and are trying to chew on everything including you.

Not sure how much we will update today. Probably no videos till after the puppy visit. We have friends, swimming and much more happening today and I want to brush everyone out.

Those of you coming for a puppy visit are going to LOVE these pups.

They had an outdoor session and I will tell you the Pepper LOVES the pups. I wil try to get a video up by tonight but we have guests. We shall see.

Can I kiss you, Pepper?

Here's a video to show you how they did with the older crew.

Sedate Puppies?: Gallery Added

Now that I got your attention, I washed the pups today and I sort of felt like the pups were dead. They were so laid back, no shaking, relaxed as ever. I did the mostly white one and said okay, its just her then the boy and then the girl and all 3 were like that. The boy didn't like being strung up in the air for photos but even that reaction wasn't much.

Photos coming but wow... best crew for baths yet!

Click on Photo for Larger ViewOh Miss so you want to take a photo expression. hehe

Click on Photo for Larger ViewDid she react - no. Did she like the dryers - sure. Nothing bothered her and she liked the rubbing to get her dry with my hands. Tub, no problem, sudsy water no problem, drying with towel, no problem.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewClick on Photo for Larger ViewShe dries up so nicely too!

Click on Photo for Larger ViewClick on Photo for Larger ViewHe also had absolutely no issues with the bath, the dryers, the towel rubbing, the brush etc. Holding him up in the air wasn't his fave thing but he didn't complain. He just scrunched up his neck. That's how I could tell he would rather be in my arms or on the floor.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewClick on Photo for Larger ViewHe also dried up quite nicely. I can't get over how fluffy and soft they feel. Even Jeannie had a bath today.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewWhen I finally got to the littlest gal I had to say wow no stress, no muss.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewShe loved the entire experience.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewClick on Photo for Larger ViewOh my gad aren't they wonderful. We even had them out with the dogs yesterday and got a video and today they were out again (no video) and they are wonderful with the bigger guys. Logan is great with the pups.

Delightful Pups

We had the pups out yesterday and they have now been bitten by the desire for fun and change. They are still sleeping a fair bit of time but they are truly enjoying seeing everyone  - human and canine. They are a sociable crew. We will see how they do on their visit.

I haven't talked about the dark girl that much. So, let me fill you in. She is adventurous. She is a hugger. She is playful and she doesn't care in a rumble with her siblings if she is on top or bottom but she doesn't like her siblings not letting her up. As she gets older she is a classic beauty. I go hmm maybe she should stay here and then I realize I can't - not this litter but I am impressed with this litter. Everything I am seeing is coming together looks and personality wise. Unless something changes we could show any of them. (sigh) Check out the video of them playing outside and see how they react to some of the dogs.

Short Update

We have a busy day so on Tuesdays I am going short across the board. Tuesday is handling class and if I attend I cam't do videos, photos etc. I do the bulk of the work and exclusinely the entire online so no videos today and tomorrow I will play catchup. I have them. I just have to upload, link etc.

The pups have been out of the xpen 3 times today and as soon as the deck dries they will have their outdoor adventures. On Saturday they get to see a couple of families and that will be fun. They will be 6 weeks on Sunday - wow!

I just carried the mostly white gal outside and all the dogs sniffed and kissed and nuzzled including Inula and no shake - nada.

We will see how they do with the dogs and with them inside the xpen on the deck. I will take a video but won't place it up till tomorrow.

Yes that puppy is stealing momma's food. They have TEETH. :-)

Let's Get Technical

Daddy keeps showing off these pups when people pickup or visit and keeps saying they are a month old. I say 5 weeks old. Who is right? I guess we both are. :-)

Pups had a hallway visit today for the first time. That means they walked on tile. They did rather well too. Watch the video. Plus check out the gallery.

The pups are waggy tail fun - love me up and oh my gad you want to play with me pups. When you do play with them and they are delighted. When you are doing other things they sit and look out and wait.

Here are some videos.

5 Weeks Old Tonight

I love how this crew snuggles. They are massive lovees.

I tried kibble softened and spliced up with chicken. This is the first crew that won't even try it. Poor Jeannie is getting engorged as they are eating the mousse but her milk production hasn't slowed down.

They are truly fun pups. They wag their tails at you. They get so excited to see you and they enjoy being outside of the pen or inside. So far, so good.

The crew was outside on the deck again and Nathan came out for the last 5 minute or so. I was trying to take photos and a video. It was not doable as they wanted to play with me. I also cleaned out their pen and allowed them to run around outside of the pen. I didn't get photos of that as I was actually cleaning the pen. They were wonderful. They are adapting to new places quite nicely. Tomorrow if the weather cooperates and the grass is cut we will get them in the grass.

Outside of the xpen Roxie cleaned and loved them up and Jeannie was watchful but fine. They also sneaked a drink from her.

Outdoors Spice got to say hello to the pups and still Jeanie was watchful but she also loved them up. They got exposed to 2 dogs they didn't know - bonus!

Here is a gallery of them outside - some with Spice.

Here are some videos of their play. They do LOVE to play!
