Fun Times

Here is the gallery.

The Sage crew really has not missed a beat. They started coming out for play sessions and never looked back. They are starting to learn the pad. Each time they get up I place them on the pad. It is how they learn from repitition. They are real people oriented and one seems to love to play but is independent. Their personalities develop over the week but I noticed they are climbers with no fear. Up on something and down without skipping a beat.

I should have got more photos today but I was too busy playing with them. It happens.

Hall Play

Here is a mini gallery.

Usually I do better on the non visiting litter but today's gallery is small. I apologize. Time to pull up my bootstraps - clean up all the stuff from Alanza and clean up this room. When you are focused on things such as helping a being become viable, the house, the gallery all sorts of things go out the window.

I won't mention her again. I also am now starting to play catch-up.

The litter of what we will now call 5 are quite the characters. We brought out the black tri boy to the Nami puppy visit and he is very confident. They all are. They are truly wonderful beings.

They are truly going to be fun on their visit and they are climbers. They have no fear on any of the toys.

Nails and Play

Here is the gallery.

The puppies had their nails and play done in the hallway. They had fun and a few squirmed while being held firmly so Nathan could do the nails but that is typical. They get bored when it takes so long especially when they see the others playing.

The pups take to this hallway play as if it was always in their routine. They embrace it so well. They also are eating mousse very well and due to the change of diet, output has increased 10 fold so pad changes, accident changes and all that it brings.

I think by mid week this crew will be upstairs as well at night. Imagine that! They are indeed ahead of the curve in development.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

Two Blog Day

Look at the earlier blog to see a gallery of the 2 litters playing together and Sage's pups eating food for the 1st time.

We lost Alanza at 930am this morning. This is her snuggling with her sister. She had her moments of attempted play and snuggling and even kissing my face but she decided to stop the fight.

It was a very difficult night where she just stopped eating. She had enough. I was alone with her. Nathan alone with her come 7am.

I am so sad. You bond when you do this for a month every 2 hours. I did 9 feedings. Nathan did 3 and the odd time more when my body was too tired to function every single day for a month.

I took out both litters together today and realized how much Sage's existing pups needed to do all the things Nami's pups were but so much time was invested in getting her to thrive and I would do it again if the end result was good. I also had Sage's pups eat mousse for the 1st time and I groomed and will no longer be restricted to afternoon grooming. The dogs will be thrilled that I am sleeping with them tonight. I will get great snuggles. I feel guilty but know I did everything.

Nathan is not doing well. He gets angry when he has a loss and I have to remind him that we did all we could and we did.

I also feel guilty as suddenly my schedule is busy but normal. Today, I can't stop crying but by Sunday maybe I can focus on the Nami puppy visit and get the Sage pups doing and doing.

One last thing. I found her siblings amazing. They snuggled with her, kissed her and was gentle. To see pups at their age be so intuitive with hearts was a testament to who they are. Sage never missed a beat never shunning her but cleaning her and taking care of her to the last moment. She seems confused but we changed the pen and she seems to be settling to the absence.

Enough said. We do need to celebrate the 5 as they are pretty darn amazing!

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts. This will be post Alanza. You will be proud of the 5. I am.

5 Sage Pups Out in Hall 1st Time Plus Playing Together and Feeding

Here is the general gallery.

See the gallery of the 2 litters together playing in the hall.

See the pups eating first food.

Sorry but Alanza was not up to hall play but the 5 was. How did they do? They were amazing. Not an issue.

We are going to try them on food today later when I get up and finish grooming dogs.

Alanza is eating less and less. I just fed her and she refused anything over 1.5ml - a far cry from the 8ml.

I need sleep and still waiting for a surgeon to enlighten us considering we have never had this issue. This process is agony.

The puppies had a blast out of the xpen. We will do it later again today. They are ready and they are truly fun pups. They are even gentle with Alanza and Sage has been super attentive. Can't say enough about the 5 and the mom. They are wonderful!

I have also caught some of the pups playing with the Nami pups between the bars.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts. I have updated the gallery to show the 2 litters playing together.

Not Sure What's Going On

Here is the gallery.

We need to start taking this crew out for play sessions. They also need to start eating mousse.

Today or tomorrow we are going to try to get an appointment for them to look at Alanza. She has started to not eat her full allotment so she can't seem to get by 10oz. As much as I try, it's not working so we need to figure this out with a vet. It is hard to believe that after a month, I am still doing this and she hasn't broken the 10oz weight. I am incredibly sad as I have never had to put so much for so long into a pup. But I owe it to them. So, we will let you know if we can get an appointment and what the verdict is.

I can't begin to tell you how I feel. I can't sleep a wink tonight and come 7am, I will need a sleeping pill for sure.

The rest of the pups are thriving, playing and are gorgeous pups. We have amazing characters in this bunch. I have got to know them quite well as I spend so much time with them.

Check out the videos and don't forget the shorts.

Pile Up and Hidden

Here is the gallery.

Pups are doing well. They play and play. We will start to introduce them to food soon. There are some real characters in this crew. They are also very affectionate. It is wonderful!

2nd Night of New Digs

Here is the gallery.

This is Alanza getting bottle fed by Nathan. We are still feeding every 2 hours. I add mousse every now and then to her diet. So far she has been okay with it but she is eating mousse minimally on purpose. I am adding increments to her diet.

My sleeping schedule is atrocious. I just ordered ear plugs so I can deal with in and out and dog noise etc. I try to sleep between some feedings starting at 145am but the recliner is awful. Wish I had a single fold out futon but we deal. I have not done anything with my machines even for a few minutes. It is pups. :-)

The pups play even Alanza. Though I celebrate her sleeping as that is how you gain weight. Soon, I will be doing a feeding so Nami's blog will have to be later. Pups are just finishing feeding at 1:17am and at 120am, I start warming formula.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

Changes: New Digs

Check out the gallery.

We had too many escape artists so we had to make the move from the whelping box to the xpen.

They fussed a bit - a very little bit. They played and they all found a cozy spot to settle in under the heatlamp. They did that themselves.

They did exceptionally well and then Alanza got stuck on the side of the xpen and let out a cry and I put some blankets there to eliminate that issue. It is the 1st time I have heard a cry from her.

Be sure to check out the videos and don't forget about the shorts.

Interactions

Here is the gallery.

Pups are doing well. The littlest one had loose stools so she didn't gain overnight but yesterday she had gained 4/8oz. She ate well after and didn't have output so I think it was the upping the total input but you must do that to gain growth. I am not worried. It seems to be a process with adding a total of ml to her food. She is now up to 7.5ml. When we started this supplementing journey she was at 2.5ml

Pups are interacting and soon it will be time to come out of the whelping box.

Be sure to check out the videos and do not forget about the shorts.
