No Belly Shot

No belly shot for Jeannie or Roxie. I only did one for Spice as she had a bath. Tomorrow we have the xray so patience is the operativce word. Yes, we will know first but you will know second.

Today I have to make a list of any supplies I need for the vets. Otherwise cameras are all in place.

3 Days to Xray

No, I haven't weighed them. I think I will wait till the vets. We are busy setting up the xpen - well I am. I do it inbetween everything else. Our whelping box we ordered came in today so maybe Dennis will assemble the parts. We also have to bring down the camera that is upstairs. By Sunday I want to make sure I have all the supplies I need not that I think anything is imminent. It is just best to be ready.

My guess for Jeannie is 3 or 4. :-) why? Just because. hahahaha

On the Back Pose Plus Weight

You can see Jeannie is wide but when they lay on their backs, they look different than standing. I had Jeannie brushed and she rolled and made herself a mess. Instead of brushing her out again, I wanted you to see what I deal with when I try to take photos.

Jeannie is now 15 lbs. I have not weighed the others yet as its upstairs.

Light Movement

Last night Jeannie had light movement so I suspect she still is just under 2 weeks to go.

When I say light kicking, I literally have to sit with her in the recliner with my hands on her belly and just wait.

When it gets closer to the time, they kick and leave feet out etc.

We have much to do. When George departs, we have a room to figure out.

We have a whelping box, a light system coming. I need to build whelping box pigs rails with PVC or have Roxie go without. I am not that handy but I may try as no one sells them separately.

I also somehow need to get to Foscam to get a camera, Best Buy to get a flexible stand as I will be 1 short.

I also need to get my ahem to the baby consignment shop to see if there are any fluffy comforters. With 3 coming, I will not have enough. Oh my... so much to do, so little time.

Really this is all so crazy all this 'to do' business.

Tonight I will sit with Spice to see if I feel any movement. Then maybe Roxie.

Weight Gains

Jeannie's weight 14.3 so she has gained a pound since April 3rd (4 days ago). Hard to see her belly as she seems to be carrying in her sides. It means she will drop closer to her due date.

Calculations

Take a calendar out. Count 63 days from February 17th. That was her first tie. April 24th is the 1st expected date of whelping but eggs can be sitting there up to 2 days so that means her first expected due date is April 22nd. It is a + or minus 2 both ways. I miscalculated earlier saying earliest was 20th. It's actually 22nd.

Her last tie was February 22nd. 63 days from that is February 27th.

Earliest I expect kicking is 1 to 2 weeks before whelping. Even with 2 weeks (usually it is just 1 week to 10 days) it is still too early to feel kicking.

Two weeks from the earliest date possible is April 8th.

By feeling from April 8th on each day, I will get an 'idea' of when she is due. But she could have taken on the last date as well.

Xrays will be more telling.

Another way of predicting is to take the longest ties plus and minus 2 days. Her longest tie was February 18th but she also had a long tie on February 22nd.  That could simply mean he realized she was going out and best get it before it disappears. That happens too.

Are you having fun? That is what happens without progesterone.

We will be ready for the 22nd and take it from there.

Just Dawned on Me

I only have 2 whelping boxes (guess I could just do one in an xpen with blankets. I need to fit 3 pens in here. I need another heatlamp. I need another camera. YIKES!
