Nosy, Yes I Am

I can't help myself but it's all mine! Mommy doesn't have everything set up yet. There are towels to fill the whelping box. Why towels? We layer them and as we go we remove towels that are dirty. Birthing is a messy job but we try to keep it as clean as possible. By layering the towels we can remove one or 2 layers at a time each time we need to.

We still have cameras to set up. Hemostats are getting sterilized. Supplies are getting crossed off. We also have heat lamps to set up. The room is not perfect yet but we have time. 

We even have our emergency box in case we need to go to the vets with a heatpad and a device to plug it into the car. 

Surveying Room: Update 2

I know what this is about. It's almost time for puppies, puppies, puppies. Everyone goes absolutely nuts getting it all done. It is soooooooooooooo amusing!

Pups Kicking

The pups have been moving around at least since yesterday. If I didn't miss the starts (which happens sometimes as they move when they want to move) then if you relied on this method she would be due 9th or 10th - perhaps 1 week difference. 

Roxie is gaining and her belly is growing but Adele's is huge. 1 weeks does make a difference so now we wait to see what xrays say on Tuesday. 

Leti, Panda and Inula are all due to come into heat next month. Usually they use my office when in heat but that can't happen with puppies. It means when pups are about to go home Leti will have pups. Oh my. 

Now if Adele has pups on Oct 2nd - they can start going home on the 11th onward of December. With Roxie just tack on a week to that. If Leti comes in during October or we breed Panda - pups will go home in March. 

Eating

I eat really well when Daddy feeds me steak or lamb chops and uses the drippings on my kibble. Poor Adele if I don't watch her will eat mine and hers. She doesn't get why last week I just allowed it but I am over this morning sickness and if she eats mine - well I won't be happy. 

Mommy is going to see if she can feel kicking again but the way she feels tonight she may fall asleep with me on her lap. There is always tomorrow.

Lots of Sleeping

No kicking yet for Roxie but her belly is growing. But at this point both are sleeping a lot. That is normal. We decided that we should set up the room after Woofstock. We move out a couch, leave one in for human resting. We set up cameras so we can monitor. Supplies have to be replenished or gathered together. I will do the gathering before the xray in case I need something at the vets. One more week and xrays - wow.

What a comfie couch this is. Mommy tells me she got it so she can put the pups on and take a photo or two. Besides we rather like it! Plus don't you think it's the right colour for Adele and me?

I am getting bigger by the day. No pups kicking for me yet but Mom keeps feeling. 

Will Mommy get everything done in time before we have puppies, puppies, puppies? We shall see!

Last Swim

I may have had my last swim today. It is looking like weather is getting cooler. My mommy is only seeing 3 days that is in the 70s this month. Will I swim again or will I not? The humans may be looking at closing if this weather keeps up. That's okay as that human Mommy can do up my whelping room and make it pretty. I am going to be mighty miffed when Adele has her pups and mine aren't already here. You wait.

My belly is getting larger. I am eating somewhat better but not like the Adele. I like to eat little meals still so that's a lot more work for that Daddy of mine. He says okay we will have a steak for the moms but we know he is making it for him too. 

I miss my braids. What about you?

Click on Photo for Larger ViewAs you can see I am growing. I may not be as big as Adele but I am getting there. Tonight I decided I didn't like my food. I wonder what Daddy will give me instead. 

Remember folks we only do this when they are pregnant. 

The Princess

Adele has no clue how she can play these humans. If you hold out long enough when we are pregnant they will cook us all sorts of things. That's okay, Adele. Daddy cooks me special stuff and you get half of it. Tonight brisket, chicken and veal - yum!

Today Daddy tried to feed me salmon. I don't think so. Usually I like it but I prefer it cooked on the grill. Really Daddy you know better.

Okay, I will eat a little bit, if you insist.

I am finally starting to eat better and entire meals now but I still like to be hand fed. I think my morning sickness is going away. That's a good thing. My tummy is starting to grow.

Mommy still thinks I am a week away from Adele but one never knows. 

Do you know Adele and Roxie are related. That means they can have very similar puppies or very different depending on where they pull their genetics from. 

Leti is next then we have Jeannie next year. All will be exciting!

Upset Tummy

Feeling bad for Roxie as she is really having a terrible bout of morning sickness. She doesn't even want to eat the good stuff. If by mid week she is still doing this I will get her something that is safe for the pups but soothes her tummy. Hope this passes as she is not eating much. But this is normal at times.
