What a Day
Raven has really enjoyed having the puppy play. She has lots of time to teach her boy everything she wants to teach him. We still have loads in store to share. If I can just get time from grooming, I promise I will do more videos. LOL
Unfortunately starting in the New Year, our costs will go up. Please contact nathan for updated costs.
The picnic date took place on August 17, 2019 from 12pm to 5pm at Yvonne's place in Brighton. Check out the details here. Photos from the 2019 picnic can be found here. Yvonne's place is NEXT DOOR to her old place. I will try to put a havanese flag out front. Hope you can join us. Directions are here. The house # is 25. We had enough snow to give Nathan his day of snow with teh pups before they are no longer the crew of 14.
Up and down stairs they went. They had a blast and was able to stay out for quite a bit of time. Moms even tried to get them to chase them and some did. It was fun.
Raven's pup won't be departing till after Chanukah and Christmas as he is the youngest. He no longer acts like the youngest.
Be sure to check out the fun today in the videos.
I guess they can do this without me. hahahaha Okay not completely as I came home to wash a pup and tomorrow grooming like crazy.
Going to miss the pups!
There's a white sox in the house. LOL
I can't believe how much fun these pups are. Short blog today.
Now that the pups are mostly not eating from mom - really they have NO more milk, the play and the learning has gone into overdrive with the moms and the pups.
I didn't take any videos but one today. Sorry about that. There is so much to do, so little time - or so it goes.
I think I am exhausted. I don't know why. LOL
Fun was had by all, I think. I am amazed the pups were up for a morning and an afternoon visit. We had Jeannie to greet in the morning and afternoon and Stone also joined us in the afternoon. Jeannie went away when the pups came out as she no longer likes the pups trying to feed for her. Raven and Jeannie are still very close and play with each other daily as does willow with Jeannie.
Here is the afternoon gallery. I am working on the videos now.
We must be nuts but it was my idea to take the pups for a drive. As we missed the car ride when we go out to a vet, I wanted to get them out to experience the car. I didn't want their 1st visit in a car to be the one going home. They just ate so it was a recipe for disaster. Off we went. No one whined. No one was car sick and no one had an accident in the crate. Bravo little ones. You do not travel after you feed but we did. Not the best photos but here is the gallery.
Pups had a vet visit again for those that didn't have their microchips and Nathan did the nails.
I also had groomings to do and I am trying to get blogs done as our daughter is taking me to Luminara tonight and she wants me to go early.
Be sure to check out the videos.
Baths, play and the rest of the insane day went fine. LOL
We did some one on ones with Zoey today. Tomorrow we will do it again to see if her connections remain. We take meshing 2 pups together seriously. Sometimes it takes time. Sometimes it is an immediate connection. It depends on each of the dogs. It all comes together.
We are also trying to figure out who is remaining. Personalities have changed. Its mighty interesting even for us!
Pups no longer have food at night. That means come 7am, they dig in like they are starving.
Come Friday the pups will have their 2nd bath but we won't be doing individual shots. We will be doing group photos. Then when they depart, the day before they will have their 3rd bath. This will get them used to baths, grooming etc...
Raven's boy weighed in at 3lb 14oz. He is healthy and a waggy tail until the microchip. See the gallery.
Our vet checks, fecal, eyes, heart, limbs, bite, structure etc
All pups will have 1 more preventative deworming before they depart to go home.
She did say they are a wonderful crew of 14. She thought I had given them a bath. LOL They get that on Friday.
The dogs and pups were really excited to see Nathan. If he didn't feel loved, he would have had to be deaf and blind, I suppose. They were vocal. They were quivering in excitement. It couldn't get better than that!
The pups are not needy. They surely like to play but they don't sit and cry to demand to come out. We would never take them out then. You can't reward behavior you do not want. These are great pups. But they are still waking us yo at 6am. We have a couple of weeks to get them to 7am for you. We will get there.
Nathan is on for last play for the night. I need some time off. LOL
Leti and Raven are attempting to wean but even Cinnamon every now and then lets them feed. It gives her relief and eventually milk will not be there.
The 14 had a blast today even with my distractions with the heat.
Play was in abundance.
After the snow play we headed upstairs and had a great time. They were still excited silly.
Here is the gallery after the snow play upstairs.
You will see in the videos. It was a riot. Now they have been sleeping for quite a bit.
When they wake up, we will take them upstairs again. We will see what tomorrow brings with snow.
I have a lot of groomings so not sure what that brings with time.
I am so trying to wean my pups. How old are they? In 2 days the youngest boy will be 7 weeks old. Leti's crew is 7 weeks and 3 days old today. Cinnamon's is over 8 weeks already.
How did that happen?
We have never had 14 but can you imagine if Raven had 6? LOL It all turned out perfect as this is truly a wonderful crew. No bullies. No whiners. Everyone has had wonderful coping skills kick in.
The pups had a grand time today. They will come out to play again before bedtime. They have 3 huge play sessions a day. While Nathan is gone, it is just me and the pups so I hope the photos and video is okay.
I let them play till they show signs of tuckering out and then they come back to their xpen and sleep for a few hours. It all works.
But I think today I am the tuckered one out. Thanks goes to Tenshi's mom for the soup. Yum! Now off to brush her out before she goes home.
Dennis is busy helping with the adults and doing cleanup. He sterilizes the pens every day.
They are so fun at this stage.
I have to laugh as Raven's boy is trying out his runs, hops and see how fast I can go. He is great. He doesn't have a care in the world. He is such a happy, happy boy. He is growing up!
Be sure to check out the puppy antics on the videos.
Short blogs today as it is crazy busy. Almost no time to eat.
Here he is dragging a bag around. He has gone from attempting to keep up with the rest to keeping up and exceeding at time.
We weighed a few quickly and he weighs a pound mire than the chocolate and the sables of Letis. He won't be tall. Raven or his grandmother is not. He will be a nice size.
We were going to take them out for 5 minutes in the snow but with Nathan going away, we had little time to do so. We shall see what tomorrow brings.
Puppy checkups, vaccinations, microchip, fecal check occurs on the 10th. How did time ever go by so fast?
As we have our vet coming to us, we will be taking them in the car so they get exposure and showing them to our locak global in the crate. They will be too young to visit the store except in a crate but it will still give them exposures.
First puppy of the 14 will depart on the 18th.
Raven was having a silly play session with her boy. She is a riot. Soom Raven and Leti will start weaning as well.
Pups are now eating unsoftened Fromms kibble with additional chicken and sometimes steak. They have no issue.
I also updated the Puppy Check list. I hope I covered most things. If not, ask. Do not buy treats, shampoo, conditioner or food as we give that to you on pickup.
Blogs are early and short as we intend on going out tonight despite the weather.
Maybe at the 8 week visit we will bring Jeannie and Willow down so you can see Jeannie - Raven's mom and Willow Jeannies daughter. Raven is also Jeannie's daughter. If disruptive to the visit, we will do it on pick up to those that want to see. We try to make the focus on the pups.
Willow is on our main blog so you can get an idea of what the dark brown sables should look like.
The afternoon visit was quieter and pups enjoyed the busy and the quieter experience. It was good to have the exposure to both. It's called conditioning. Of course they also knew what to expect after the morning visit. I think the 8 week visit we need to distribute better though they will be older, it is a better experience for you to do so. We will figure it out after Nathan is back.
The pups did really well. When all was done, they either ate or slept. Most slept. Some ate them crashed.
Now they want to come out but we are going to have them wait till before bedtime. The key to a good sleep is expelling their energy before bed.
In the next few days I will update the puppy supplies list and put in links of where you can get them.
