Happy 3 Weeks Old

I am 3 weeks old and my partners in crime is a tad older than me. I am the youngest but age doesn't stop me. I am built like my grandmother. We shall see if I slim down when I truly start running. Exercise does that but till then - yum food.

I am now keeping up with play. I learn fast and I don't think the other 2 noticed. They kept trying and I kept playing back but now I am fully playing back and leeping my own.

All 3 of us have eaten now without an upset tummy. Now to introduce water in the next 2 days. That's a bit trickier as its not as yummy as meat. LOL

Be sure to check out the videos. The pups are enjoying the introduction of beds. The apricot and cream gal is independent. She plays but she walks around curious on what is going on. The tri boy is areal playful pup. Of course Raven's boy plays and plays now that he's 3 weeks.

It will be exciting to get them upstairs playing together.

1 Day Shy of 3 Weeks

The 2 Pups from Leti have eaten Raven's food and the start mousse. The Raven boy is not yet interested and that's good as he is not old enough.

The 2 Leti pups yesterday that had steak, cheese and Fromm's kibble had no issues with their bowels after feasting - stealing from mom's plate. I guess it just smelt too good.

We have to wait for another week for the Raven pup to eat food. That is the drawback of only 1 being the youngest. But that's okay. He's round and is ahead of the curve in development so we will play it by ear.

Each day, Raven chooses to lay on my lap and watches the pups and snuggles with me. It is so endearing.

19 Days Old

This gal was also eating with gusto Raven's food. I knew I took photos but I can't find it but believe me, she was eating really well. Now to see how their digestion works after this feast.

18 Days Old

It really is hard to believe that this boy is only 18 days old. He's not 3 weeks yet and he is walking around, playing and the duo snuggle with him and play. It has been a benefit to have the 2 Leti pups with him.

the most curious one of this bunch is the apricot and cream gal. She even talks when I interact with her. It is a riot!

17 Days Old

What a funny photo - tongue out making faces at mom just like his mother. What a character.

With 6 days you do see minor differences such as not walking as smoothly but he is pretty darn good. As this boy gets closer to 3 weeks, you will see it even less but he seems to keep up with the other 2. It is sort of mind boggling but at least at this stage, he is holding his own.

New Area

There are 6 days between the Raven boy and her 2 adopted Leti duo. I want you to know as soon as Raven's boy opened his eyes, he has been attempting to play just as hard as the other 2. I find it to be amazing. as the youngest of the entire crew, if anyone can make up the 6 day difference between Leti's and him - he can. I see it daily. I expected he had to get older to minimize that gap. This is interesting as we have never merged pups almost a week apart at this stage. We usually wait till over 4 plus weeks to merge pups.

The goal was to not have Raven's singleton as a rolly polly unsocialized pup. They need interaction to learn. Mom's do a fair bit of that but nothing like pups your age to help you along.

Today they also got new digs - what I call no whelping box in a contained xpen. No one made a peep. They just took it in stride and played. It was such a positive experience for both crews that went through this today.The apricot and cream actually tried to run and jump and play by herself. She was a riot.

Eyes Open 15 Days Old

What a riot this boy is! His eyes are open and he has been playing with the other 2 in an exciting way. I suspect he will play catchup fast now.

He is a character. He was making faces the whole time.

Pups are doing well. Maybe tomorrow they get out of the whelping boxes - both litters are going to come out as the girl in this crew was trying to climb out.

Two Weeks Old

The Raven boy is just about to open his eyes. I can't wait. It will be exciting for the last one to have eyes open.

Today, Willow was so invested in seeing the pups. Raven actually let her. But they are too young so I let her sniff and depart.

13 Days

Look at how comfie they are. A pups will not lay on its back unless he/she trusts their environment. It is an exposed position. I do not think this boy is worried about anything. LOL

Raven seems to be better today. Raven's boy is now larger than the other pups. All 14 pups are related as Stone is the dad. That is quite nice!

12 Days Old

Raven has had a bit of an upset tummy today. Her stools are loose. It happens at times. She's still eating but not as much as she was. I gave her a half of a tab of zantac and she seems to be much better. But due to this I had to change out her blankets a lot. Pups are eating and gaining well. She did have a bit of brie cheese so maybe that was the culprit.

What do we do in a day at this stage?

I get up each morning after our son does the night shift. I change all the blankets in the 3 areas and start my 1st load. I then put out new water dishes and nathan collects all their food bowls to make them fresh food. I weight them. I take photos and then I put water dishes down for the adults while Nathan creates their meals.

Throughout the day, even when I am grooming, I watch them on the ipad and go in and out this pup or that pup on mom. Sometimes they find their own way and sometimes they need a bit of help.

Moms need to be groomed, loved up and massaged. I take photos, videos and upload them. I also do the blogs. As they are learning to use a pad, it is time consuming. Oh and I vacuum too as moms and kibble and hair falling out - as moms shed - blow their coat. This is due to pups pulling in all the nutrients not leaving much for the hair. It is why we feed them a protein rich diet filled with steak, ground meat, turkey, bacon, roast beef, cheese and the list goes on. Nathan is in charge of feeding and he does it well for adults and for the moms.

I am sure there is more but I am too tired to think about it.

It is interesting to watch the 2 Leti pups with eyes open still play with the Raven boy with eyes closed. He is reaping the benefits despite being younger.

11 Days Old

If you are going to have a singleton, you may as have one with perfect markings. He has many challenges being the younger one. It will be interesting how he meets them.

Although the youngest, he does cuddle with the others and attempts to interact with them. He is already ahead of his development.

10 Days Old

It is interesting with 6 days difference this trio are all the same size. All the pups in each of the litters are now over 1 pound in size. They are all eating well.

I wonder what it will be like when the 2 pups have their eyes open and the last one doesn't. Maybe he will open his early? Time will tell.

9 Days Old

The pup is 9 days old and truly larger than the Leti puppy now. I am so laughing. He won't be a big boy - none of them will be but its a riot how he played catch up.

One of the Leti boys have their eyes open. He resides with Raven. Check his photo and gallery on the Leti blog. They are getting around fairly well. In a couple of weeks, it's going to be a playfest. You just wait!

8 Days Old

Motherhood keeps me busy. Can you tell?

1 Week Old

Raven really takes good solid naps now. It is good as all moms need naps.

It is hard to believe that the Leti duo with Raven is actually 6 days older than hers. It will be interesting when the 2 open their eyes. Leti's could open later than Cinnnamons and Raven's earlier. We will see how it all unfolds.

6 Days Old

I had a much needed bath and then I came back to love up my pups. The Raven boy is now the exact size as the Leti pups. I am feeding him well. LOL

Human mom thought I would be the most frantic to get back to the pups but Leti was. But when I was done, I made a mad dash to check on them. As I just fed them before the bath, they were still sleeping. They are now big enough that they take big naps. I get about 2.5 hours between feedings.

5 Days Old

It's 5 days and Raven is still thrilled. She is more relaxed. Each night Dennis opens the door and they can roam around the hallways when the pups are sleeping and lay on cool tile. They are still hearing distance away.

Dennis is still monitoring but he takes naps here and there at night. Each morning at weigh in they gain. Usually Dennis can't do that till they are 2 plus weeks old. Of course just like every good mom and dad, if he hears a fuss, he is wide awake.

4 Days and Nail Clipping

I did not take a video of the nail clipping but will next time. Nathan checked him and his nails had grown significantly. Must be all that great Raven milk.

There are photos of the 3 of the crew in the gallery but that is how it is with Raven taking care of Leti's 2. When we merge all 3 litters together, you will just end up with one gallery a day and lots of videos. Yes, you will be confused unless you are really good. LOL I won't be as I really get to know the pups.

This boy will open his eyes later than the Leti crew but I suspect he will be in the fast track in development as he attempts to keep up with his packmates. It works that way as long as it is not more than 10 days in age difference. We just made it in that window.

This Raven pup is now just 4.8oz lighter than the Leti pups.

3 Days

The Raven boy is now 3 days old. The 2 Leti pups she has is 9 days old. There is only less than an ounce difference in weight between them.

Of course this means the boy will open his eyes and ears last and they will probably be playing with him before he is at that stage. Already though he seems to be manuevering around quite well. It is hard to believe there is 6 days difference.

Raven continues to be quite pleased. I am glad we went this route. Sometimes with singletons they give them so much attention that they can clean them raw plus they get too spoiled. This all works!

Raven Pup 2 Day and Leti Duo

Today it took me till 4pm to brushout the moms. Each day I brush them out. I give them a mini massage and I vacuum. Each morning and sometimes at night I change the bedding. This way the pups stay clean and by doing this they appreciate a clean environment. That is what becomes comfortable for them.

All pups across the board are gaining in excess of an ounce a day. This will slow down when they start walking. Walking expels energy and burns calories. I wish it was that easy for humans. Well, that is the theory but our metabolism is slower than pups growing and burning energy.

Interesting enough Leti's 2 and Raven's boy are all similar in weight.
