My and the Dawgs Day

Woke up 10 minutes late - poor Dennis. Nathan took the dogs out.

I changed the blanket in Leti's whelpimng box and weighed all the pups. I also took a few photos.

I lifted and opened the curtains on the gazebo outside as Nathan hates them. It closes his view but it also stops us from having to bring everything in and cover everything. There is a trade off.

Got coffee ready, placed water dishes out (7) and helped feed dogs. I change them out throughout the day. Nathan took them outside for the 2nd time. Then I put my toast in the toaster oven and started cleaning all the dishes.

Toast is ready as soon as I finished the dishes, so I ate and then went and did laundry. 3 loads waiting more coming.

I combed out all the dogs, checked on Leti and watched her on the camera many times over.

We took out the Cinnamon and Ella pups. Lynda arrived with Logan and Panda and she stayed and played with pups. After she departed more laundry, more Leti and puppy going home things to do. I took video and photos that all need to be uploaded.

Nathan took a nap when Dennis got up. I did more puppy stuff, more laundry and more Leti. I also recombed dogs going home. I cleaned Leti's backend and dried it a number of times.

I clean up pads, change them and all that fun stuff.

No pool for me.

I am blogging it now. I am creating galleries.

I want to go to sleep but I have a dog to cut down and a bath to do. Crazy day.

Here is the gallery.

You will see that I captured some running around. Others I didn't as I simply find it impossible to always have a camera in my hand. I do so try.

Very Short Blog

Marcie departed. We have more going tonight and Leti is indeed in labour.

Here is a gallery.

Nathan and Dennis are feeding dogs and I have to sit with Leti.

I went crazy today grooming as I sort of knew she was close despite her 1st day being tomorrow.

What a crazy insane day this has been. So bad that I forgot to do Mickey and his mom has to come back for him. I think I lost my mind today but teh dogs - oh tehy are having fun. Till tomorrow!

Short Blog Again

Here is a gallery. I deleted one of my sticks by accident. That tells you where my mind is at. But that's okay. I didn't get everyone clicked - well I did but I deleted them. ARGH

Tomorrow Marcie, Steven and May's 3 and Thunder depart. The long weekend will conclude though manyh are not departing till Tuesday. Lucky you for getting an extra long weekend.

We also have Adele and River here as our daughter and family are in seeing grandpa in Ottawa. Everyone is heading in but me. I am trying to figure out how I can. If not, Nathan will head in by himself. If he goes in with me its a 2 way drive the same day experience. Too much to think about now with leti, pups departing etc. Leti's first due date is Tuesday and we are NOT ready.

Today it is truly hot. The dogs DO NOT want to be out. Some of our swimmers went out to swim when Nathan got his bathingsuit on but the others looked at us cross-eyed. We look forward to a huge play session at dusk when it is a tad cooler.

Long Day

Just finished grooming. Started at 8am. Spicy and Cooper were the last. They depart in the early morning. It's bedtime in a half hour and I still have a pen to do and water dishes. Oh boy. To say its been a long day is an understatement. More of the same tomorrow.

Here is the gallery.

Not sure I have too much left in me. Thank you to Sherry for caring about my knee.

Fun Hot Times

We had a busy day as we had Leti's xray. You will have to check out her blog to see the xray and tell me how many you see. Marcie and sage has been playing for hours. They will conk out. We tried getting them to rest a bit but I think they are too excited. Mabel was also here earlier and they too played. Sage is prancing around as if we gave her the best present and Marcie is doing the same.

Here is the gallery.

We have a very busy long weekend so I will snap photos but the blogs may be short.

Nathan is about to do tv time so the dogs will rest all over him, the couches, the table that has a dog bed on it and up on the shelves that have blankets. It's a real dog room.

Me, I am going to finish the blogs then start figuring out what else I need to buy for the pups departing. This weekend is also a full schedule grooming all weekend long so - forgive me for short. I also have to get everything ready for Leti. Crazy insane time.

Long Weekend

Dogs played hard today. Tomorrow starts the long weekend.

Here is the gallery.

It's going to get busy and fun. Looks like some rain but warm. We will deal.

My knee is still very much in pain but it gets dull when I take tylenol 1s. I tried Advil for 3 days and couldn't fall asleep. I guess if it remains, after the holiday is over and if Leti doesn't give us puppies, I will get it checked out. I do not want a shot of cortisone. I may have to try acupuncture. I have to try something as this pain is ridiculous. But I can walk up the stairs. Last time this happened I couldn't do stairs so I am thankful. LOL

Willow jumped in the pool today. She was the only one.

We gave everyone these gingerbread cookies that we got at Globals. Only Inula would eat them. She eats anything. Tonight Nathan was sick and couldn't eat his steak so we ground it up and put it in everyone's food today and they were beyond excited about their food.

Tomorrow morning Leti heads to the vets. Dogs come. No one departs and the fun will begin - not that it hasn't already.

Every time I do the blog Spicy lays next to me. I wonder if this is a habit with Anne. Sunday they depart.

I am blessed to have the dogs - truly am. Visitors and my own. can't imagine a world without.

Getting Ready for Rain

Getting ready for the rain. Saffron rubbed her face messy and Murphy is right at home.

Here is the gallery.

Friday Leti goes for her xray. Friday also starts our long weekend so we suddenly get busy. It's going to be fun as long as this knee gets under control. Right now tylenol 1s are my friend or a stiff drink before bed. Reality is I only have a drink every once in a blue moon but I love a good gin and tonic. Hendricks Gin has become my fave. LOL

I had an issue with my camera going busy always. Changed out my flash memory card and it's not happening. Thanks, Sandy for making me think about that possibility. Now maybe when I am taking photos of the baths I can reduce the time. LOL Flash Cards are expensive. I am saving up for another. Figures my camera uses them vs standard memory cards. They are faster though.

I have not swam for a few days. I am hopeful tomorrow is the day though my schedule is saying not likely. hahahaha

The dogs are sick of this rain. I haven't watered in days so bonus but we need to get dogs in swimming and puppies too. I guess at least its not too hot.

I got my mini roses planted. I am done other than orchids or amaryllis for winter. Dennis reminds me I need to find grow lights. One of my fave plants last year looked like it was dead come spring and now it is blooming outside. Dennis looks at me cross-eyed with my garden obsession.

Today we played a wild game of chase and the older puppies started getting rough. The adults not. The puppies got so excited that they escalated their play. So, pups inside and adults outside to play that game.

The dogs LOVE a good run. Thank you to Dennis as I couldn't do it with my knee though I really need to move it - not at the cost of the knee.

Hmm Cooper wants me to brush him more than once a day. Must be those treats. We are using mini greenie tartar busters. He loves them!

What a Day

I had a really bad day today. I had a very full grooming schedule. Dennis is off today and I have shooting pains (think arthritis) in my knee. Then someone came back a day early and I had to fit them in (haircut and bath) when I had an already full grooming schedule. I am having a stiff drink - not my usual but have no time for pain and I still have to bring pups out for play. I have to get out there BEFORE it rains. LOL

Here is today's gallery.

I did manage to get everyone brushed out. I have hair all over me despite having a grooming jacket on.

Everyone is truly having a blast. I did manage a sit for treats and a find the treat game. Everyone was keenly interested in those 2 games. Shoshi beat everyone to a sit. Nathan often tells me she can't hear but she can hear just fine. My old lady....

Yes Rain AGAIN

Cloudy and then rain in the afternoon. It doesn't make for a ton of photos.

Here is today's gallery.

They all look like wet or messy rags but I just now finished grooming them. It's why the blog is late. I have to tell you I am not sure what is best extreme heat or rain daily. With rain you at least don't have to water the plants but boy do the dogs get messy.

It has been raining so much, I went out and bought curtains for the gazebo. Each rainstorm we have been covering and bringing everything in. This way I can just put the curtains down and keep the toys, beds, couch all dry. Well - that is the theory. We shall see.

I put up the curtain. I haven't done the screening yet. The gazebo is 10x12 and 1st try I put the 10 foot size on the 12 and visa versa so I had to move each panel to the right size. It was raining while I was doing this. one has to laugh at such craziness. I hope I don't do the same when I put up the screening. My luck....

Plus today we had George go home with Herschel. We miss him already. We also had the last 8 week visit with the pups so a crazy day...

Katie is still here and we hope Ruth is okay. Poor Sherry is sick - so sending out healing vibes to her.

Rain Again

Nathan was soaking his feet and everyone was saying hello.

Here is the gallery.

The rain came down hard then it stopped and the steam rose.

I had so many groomings the last 2 days. It's been crazy. But it is also nice to see them freshly done. This is Holly after her cleanup.

I never got to water the plants but the rain took care of that - thank you!

Archie arrived. Photos to come tomorrow. I had clicked before he arrived. Lily has been playing with Zoe non stop and anyone else she can. Maddie is a massive snuggler and loves sitting in the recliner when it gets to be tv time. Can you blame her?

Levon and Trigger I am sure is exhausted as I type. They played hard. Socks and Charlie departed.

Next weekend is a holiday weekend, I think and it's going to be a fun but busy one. It's our last week with Spicy and Cooper. It goes by way too fast. George and Herschel got baths and haircuts today.

It's been a day but the dawgs had fun... me not so much. LOL

What is That?

A meal can never be too low. hahahahaha

Holly and Socks say rain - really?

Yes, this was a non pool day. Holly is just here for the day as she is getting spruced up. Socks, Charlie and Barney depart tomorrow. We are hoping for better weather but we shall see.

Here is the gallery.

I need to get curtains for the bottom gazebo as it surely helps with the rain and keeping the area dry.

I have 2 dogs to do this late afternoon so blogging will be short.

Needless to say, no one got the food on the plate. They were all good!

Very Short Blog

It was too busy to take gallery photos. Tomorrow may be the same. I stood in line at ribfest for lunch for an hour and a half. Oh my gad was that ridiculous but Christine brought a yum salad and Yvonne brought a potato salad that had miracle whip in it that I didn't know what miracle whip. Shock....

But to tie the Italian visitors over - here is a video that Dennis took of Cooper chasing Sage. Plus here is Herschel and George playing.

I got everyone combed out except Adele and River as they came later and I then had to get to Ribfest. They are with us as a friend died - one we all know - expected since he went into palliative care but didn't last long. Younger than me... sigh.

Dogs have been having a blast. It's about to rain and well I am tired but you have heard that before. I so enjoyed by visit with Yvonne and Christine. Wish it was longer.

Oh yeah and the swim was not long enough. LOL

Departures and Arrivals and Play

Daisy departs tonight. Barney arrived and we were off to the vets. It's a long day and I am going to short blog it tonight. Spicy appears to be quicker than lightening when a gate open. She loves to go greet everyone. Imagine that!

Zoe (both) remains absolute play monkeys.

Here is the gallery.

Everyone and I mean everyone is playing.

Tomorrow a puppy visit - Christine visit and a Yvonne visit and a swim.

Nathan is trying to set up time to visit his dad. We are juggling.

On the Farm and More

It was a good day on the farm with Kate, Treasure and Nathan. As it rained yesterday the farm had muddy pools of water and Willow went diving into a pool of mud - go figure. Stone got dirty but nothing like Treasure or Willow. I do believe Willow was the worse. It took me 3 washes with a product called Dirty Dog to get her clean. That product is supposed to get the dirtiest clean in one shot. Not Willow. On Stone I used it once.

Here is the gallery from the farm.

We had a wonderful time truly. It's been a year since we saw Treasure. It has been too long. Kate is also quite the lady and what time we spent is treasured.

Dennis held down the fort with the rest of the dogs. He said they were great but he didn't get a lot of time to capture all their moments. Tomorrow will be the same as we have the vey appointment.

We took Stone and Willow and to say they had a great time is an understatement.

Here is the gallery that Dennis took.

He said they were really great. We got back about 130ish and had left at 8am. Nathan found the heat was making him sleepy.

Playing Hard

This is what happens when you play hard. You come in looking good and when you are captured - you look like you lived. That's the way it should be.

Here is today's gallery.

It started out muggy as ever. Now it is raining. It best not rain tomorrow. We have a popup tent and chairs packed. Tomorrow camera and cooler and water for dogs.

We had a great time with the dogs today. They played hard despite the mugginess and drank nice cool water in-between. :-)

I am not sure what I will get as an update tomorrow except Treasure and our visit so forgive me.

Harlow departs tomorrow. Daisy - Thursday. We will miss them - indeed!

Food?

Can I have some too? Cooper was thoroughly brushed and he's taking on Spicy's personality. He gets on the chairs outside and rolls around till he is as messy as can be.

Here is today's gallery.

We still have that unnamed dog pulling off bowls with food in them off the counter. Silly us, we walked away and oh biy food everywhere.

It's a short gallery as I spent more time playing vs clicking and that is okay too!

Socks has decided Willow is the one to hang out with. It's so cute!

River and Adele depart tonight. Tomorrow Rocco comes. What a fun week this is turning out to be.

Wednesday we have Treasure to see. Thursday we have the vets. Friday a visitor for the pups. saturday the 8 week visit, Oh my what a week. Throw in grooming....

It's Raining ALL DAY LONG

Barney just departed today and he doesn't seem to mind the rain but today he had had enough of me grooming his feet etc each time he went outside. I was trying to keep him clean for his mom and dad.

Check out today's gallery.

I just love Barney. He is such a loving being.

As strange as it sounds, I was hot yesterday and chilly today. It's crazy weather.

Dennis and Jon are busy washing couches, carpets and all craziness today. Yesterday they halfway did the garage. Due to rain they couldn't complete it. Tomorrow they finish it. I am determined to get our van in the garage this winter. Each October we say - have to clean that garage and it never happens and new things are added - you know the old coffee maker that bit the dust, the broken sherpa bag and on and on and on. It is dangerous. The reasoning behind that is you must take it to the right dump station and their hours are never the same as ours.

Dennis has been nonstop working but that means I am everything dogs and I mean everything from grooming to entertaining to having silly conversations where they do not talk back. There are benefits.

I have changed Spicy's top knot 5 times today where Copper I have only changed once.

Another grooming tip - check ears. If they have a wad of hair stuck together that you can't get out, take some hemostats and pull it out. It is preferred to leave the hair but not if it is knotted. It is a hidden place that you need to check and comb. It sounds crazy but you do.

Dogs have been silly playing inside. Charlie arrived. You will recognize him as the shaved down dog who despite being shaved down has beautiful markings. He is a handsome guy. Some dogs can do shaved down - some look downright horrible. He is one that can sport that look and still look good, imho. It's like a shaved look on a woman. Some look stunning, many of us would not. I  try not to shave down. Every now and then you have no choice.

This week is busy. On Wednesday we go off to the farm to see Treasure. We are deciding who to take. On Thursday the pups have their vet visit. Then Saturday the 8 week visit. Not sure if I can fit in a bath for the pups then but maybe one where I don't take photos. We shall see. Maybe wash them and let them air dry so you can all see them wet? Nah but it did cross my mind. They do look silly all wet.

Well, I had such a late night last night so going to get the blogs done. I wish I could go to bed NOW. But maybe empty the pvr - fat chance and relax. one can dream. I may be stuck hearing the wrrrr sound of the carpet cleaner all night long into the wee hours. It has to be back tomorrow.

Saying Goodbye

Connor, Magic, Mabel and Velvet departed today.

Here is the gallery.

I just finished grooming. I thought I could shave a dog down without making him bald as a shiny belly but his mats were too bad so I spent time lifting up the mats so I could give him a short haircut. No names. I don't believe in posting such things except to educate. In this case they washed the dog and knots turn into felted masses when they are wet. Always get the knots out first before bathing.

Dogs had a great time today. Nathan didn't get much sleep so he was less than a happy guy today. Hoping tonight he gets sleep. I didn't get much either but I live the life that life is too short to be crabby. hahahaha We each handle a lack of sleep differently.

I do need a swim though. A stiff drink is in my hands. Maybe my hands won't hurt so much.

No tv time tonight. Spicy follows me to the office each time to hang out with me. I think she likes me.

Till tomorrow...

What a Day

What a day. We have had a lot of playing going on.

Check out the gallery.

We started out this morning setting up bowls, adding Fromms, adding ground chicken - our usual breakfast. At night we cook ground veal, turkey, chicken - something to add to the Fromms. Well this morning, an unknown dog managed to get up to the counter and push a bowl off and all over the floor it went. That same dog went after the treats but we caught him and now we have treats, food and everything up high. LOL I have to appreciate the determination!

Inula is a TT and a large dog. She could counter surf but she won't dare.

Tonight when we lined up the dishes on the counter I stood there guarding them. Each time this particular dog tried again, I rewarded him when he sat down. The rest were miffed wondering why he was getting treated and they were not.

There is never a dull moment around here.

We have had dogs ruin outdoor cushions, eat tables, scratch doors. But we learn from it each time someone does something as it gives us an opportunity to use positive training.

Katie is here as Ruth was rushed to the hospital. We do not know anything else about it as her lady that helps her brought her. Our thoughts are with her.

Remember folks, if something happens make sure someone knows that the dog can come here and give them our contact info.

Katie fit in like she has always been here so no worries, Ruth!

It's interesting the relationships that are developing. We have a full house through the weekend. Nothing liek dogs draped all over you. It's the best!
