The Daisied One

Have to laugh at Daisy. I get her all bathed and look what she did to her face. I think I brushed her 10 times before Mom came and I only had her done 20 minutes before pickup. I have to learn to say wait a minute - got to brush her - give me a second and that way I am only doing it once more. hahahaha

Daisy has a LOT of hair so she takes a solid 2 hours as I line comb her. Line combing means going section by section and brushing then combing out.

What does she do 2 minutes after placing her in my front hall? Rubbing her face of course cause she can.

Dawgs are Dawgs and I love them for it. I purposely did not place her with anyone as she really would be a mess as she is a huge play monkey and adores the pups. She lets Dusty jump all over her tummy. It's a riot.

Well today we investigated the garden. One wonders if this is it for the snow melting or we will get more snow. We played a fierce game of retrieve and everyone participated. I did a hide the treat game till they got a tad overzealous with that game.

It's only 430 and the dawgs are crashed out yet again - some with Nathan taking a nap and some with Dennis. Hey, where is MY nap?

With the time change and less sleep I could have used it but oh well.

Miss Panda Bear stayed with Dennis last night and woke the house up at 5am. Hoping tonight she adjusts. As she is in heat she has to be separated. Abigail will be done tomorrow so Panda will get to hang out with Treasure. It will be good to have Abigail back in bed with me.

I will be glad when the heats are done - April...where are you. :-) Heats last 3 solid weeks.

Will also be glad when Dennis can sleep at night in the room with Fiona vs. staying up - I figure a few days and he will. Life is always evolving.

What a Warm Day

Nathan and Dennis have been out playing with the dogs off and on all day. I have been out with Fiona as she has had to go a great deal. :-( Weather is GORGEOUS!

No photos as Nathan didn't think of it. I was busy grooming, taking care of Fiona and feeding pups. I was also washing Fiona's back end and drying each time, doing laundry and cleaning the whelping box more than the usual.

Panda is also here as she is in heat and not being bred but she is not totally happy about not being able to be with the boys. She is with her mommy though and with me and at night with Dennis.

So, give us a few days. I will post something each day - just not my usual.

I thought this was an interesting photo I just took. Mia is in her usual spot behind Nathan or on his neck. Kat was saying hi to Nathan.

Everyone is exhausted. They are so exhausted from playing and I mean every single one that Nathan is getting the food ready and all but Dusty hasn't even got up to see what he is doing. They are tired. I believe they loved the outside today. Even Mia is now settled into the back of the couch and catching some serious zzzs.

It's nice when the dogs play till they need to take a nap. It tells me they all had fun. Not a single one is awake - now Dusty has fallen asleep. Hmm wonder if they will get up when Nathan starts putting out dishes. :-)

Day Off

Sorry we have a lot to do so we are focusing on the dogs not on the blogs but here is some puppy play to tied you over. Nothing is wrong in the least - just have to have an ah moment of not doing constantly.

Everyone is playing, eating, doing well and having a ton of fun.

This was taken before Magic had her bath. Now she is all clean and waiting to go home as the fluff ball she is now.

Spice continues to love even those that aren't her pups. She seems to have a special bond with hers but she still plays with the others.

3rd Birthday & More

It's crazy busy day today so I rushed to do baths for 3 getting picked up. This is Breeze who turned 3 along with Raylan, Finnigan, Coco. Big Happy Birthday to Breeze and all her siblings. How did 3 years go by so fast.

Chinook also had a bath but I have to get Nathan to take some more photos after my camera battery charges. What timing......

Finn we did manage to get photos of but he refused to stay still but 2 minutes. He's so excited to see Brewer - wait till he sees Pepper and Scruffy too.

Messy Dogs

This was Shoshi about 2 hours after I brushed her out. She was sticking her head in the snow outside. What is one to do with a dog that you brush and 5 minutes later looks - well like this. Well, she is knot free. She just looks funny. You learn to laugh and take photos and be quick to get one before she does this.

Someone asked if their dog had a long tongue. This is only a partial view of Shoshi's tongue. I call hers an ant eater tongue. It's the longest I ever did see.

I also gave Cha Cha a bath and she is a - got to get to be a mess dog. So, I may not be OCD about mine, I think I have brushed Cha Cha about 6 times waiting for her mom. Nathan finally took her upstairs to take a nap in hopes that I don't have to brush her 6 more times. We shall see.

It's so funny but I think she KNOWS what she is doing. Hahahaha I got you brushing me again and I get a TREAT. Oh, do I have YOUR number!

Well, got a bit more grooming to do. This blog will be short today. I hope you don't mind.

Lots of Grooming

I brushed and brushed today except for Shoshi and Risa and told Nathan those 2 are his. Let's see how many times I have to ask or I will just do them too.

Daisy has decided that if the only way she is going to get treats is to get groomed then groom me many times a day - will you? She's too smart for her own good. By the way the Daisy head shots are so interesting as you are seeing her hair as the background. Look and see what I mean.

Logan and Panda have started what I call maniac hour when Mom comes for them so we are working on it. It's rather funny but shhh you didn't hear me say that but we are trying to tone down the excitement as it can escalate. I just love those 2.

Cha Cha will get a bath and Mommy will pick her up and let's see if she does the maniac door visit thing too. :-) Cha Cha really loves playing with Jeannie, Dusty, Finn and Truffie. She is such a play monkey.

Marlee I believe is 6 years old and still a puppy in nature. Her housemate Jazmyn is such a laid back thing like Fiona and Marlee is a wild child.

Finn has the treat thing down too. He wants me to brush him 40 times a day - just treat me - will ya. hahahaha

I must say I laugh and laugh at Chinook and Breeze. Breeze is always doing her dominant thing with Chinook and he just ignores, ignores and then goes for it - full out play.

Stella & the Rest

Stella didn't visit but she did visit our mailbox - well her photo did so I thought I would share it with you - the beautiful Stella!

We have had a lot of fun today. I got everyone groomed early. I got Paula's dogs ready to go home all nicely bathed. She came in for a short bit and then we had the Brewer come in for a bath. See Spice's blog. Oh my was he fun today. Spice was so excited.

Levon dropped in and played up a storm with all sorts of silly play and gave Nathan a big kiss or two or three.

What a Day

I have been doing lots of washes including Fiona. I am going to update Fiona's page again as I got a belly shot and oh my gad has she grown. Wait till you see.

I had to get Phantom. Tangles and Envy washed up, organized for Paula as they will be heading back to Sudbury. Nathan has done a ton of snuggling with the dogs. Dennis was running and playing retreive and slidiong on the floor as they ran after him. It was a riot to watch out of the corner of my eye while I bathed.

I also will include Timmy in his onesie as he just had a snip snip. Poor guy. All I can say is Irma will fill you in but I am sure she won't mind me telling you that he finds laying in the snow soothing - that is without the onsie.

Nathan is Out

Nathan is out at his brothers visiting his dad so I am holding down the fort with Dennis.

We have had a full day. We had a ton of snuggling watching a movie. The humans watched, the dogs snuggled and we snuggled back. We still have the rest of a movie to watch perhaps when he is back. We shall see. We had - walks as it is getting cooler it felt good and the dogs relished them.

Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. I combed everyone out. My hand feels it but everyone is done. Tomorrow I get Paula's crew ready to go home. That means baths, crates ready etc. I do favors for Paula and she does them back - we are friends - and that is nice.

There are days that we are doing so much that one has no time for the camera except when you sit down or the off shot. That was today. It's been a good full day and its not over yet!

Slow Day

When you rely on someone else to take photos - well this is what I got. He was learning night photography - being creative but those I can't share as they are the process you use to learn and they are blurry or so creative you can't quite see what is going on.

So, here are a couple he took that did come out.

He also got one of Cha Cha playing with Dusty but not much else. There is a reason.

I had baths to do with Logan, Panda, Spice. Tomorrow I am going to try to fit in Fiona depending on how she is doing. Sunday I have the Tangles, Envy and Phantom as they head home.

Early this evening we got the pleasure of Al and Shelley dropping in with Chinook and Breeze. Where was the camera then, Nathan?

Ty came for a fun visit and it was FUN. I just love that guy. I had a wonderful photo of him and without thinking I thought I pulled all the photos off the stick and told Nathan to format - oy how many other photos did I miss today - oh well one of THOSE days. This one will have to do with him looking at Nathan as if to say.... you fill in the blank.

Logan I hear was over the moon to see his Jon that just came home after a long stay away on a learning venture. I think the Panda was told by Logan Jon is his. oh Panda... don't let Logan get away with THAT. Jump all over Jon, keep him up and tell him you love him too and so there Logan!

We then sat down to watch Idol. I really didn't want to but it gave us an opportunity to sit together. To have Breeze and Chinook chill out while watching TV. It gave Truffie a different focus than Abigail. Gad I hate this show this year - but we share the moments with each other and the dogs so its good for something but if Nikki is on the show next year - click off!

It's been a day but no photos... other than the ones that are here - sorry...

Now Nathan is saying can you watch x and I said no dear, I need to do the blog and set up the whelping box as you are afraid we won't have enough time. tee hee

Crazy Wet Times

I was going to wash Logan and Panda today but I am hoping we don't have slush tomorrow as it simply makes NO SENSE to wash anyone till it is less than wet. I will tell you I groomed everyone so meticulously and well they look a MESS. But oh they are having so much fun.

So enjoy the soaked look.

Cha Cha has been enjoying Scruffy, Jeannie, Tangles and Dusty. Dusty also had a trip out to visit Jazzy today. Cha Cha thought Ms. Pepper Pot was a Martian when she first burst on to the scene but Cha Cha went oh she's interesting and decided to play with that one.

The play seemed to be more friskier but more work today indeed!

Plus the fun moments were worth the extra work today. Nathan didn't groom today <sigh>

PS: Cha Cha has since been out and well let's just say she looks interesting again.

Early Morning Snow

That apricot ball of hair is Cha Cha and she is trying to jump all over Envy. What a full of life gal. Dusty who lives in snow country really looked at this stuff as if to say what the $%^&!

Dennis is out shovelling. I am getting ready for the vets and doing the blog in case I don't have time later on. There is always so much to get ready - crates, extra towels, wipes, brushes, toys etc. Let's not forget the camera and phone.

The dogs LOVE the snow but no photo day as we are too busy.

Okay So Where's the Snow?

Weather people is all I can say.... about as reliable as fortune telling?

Waiting

Coco and Doozie had a bath and are waiting for their limo ride with human mom and dad.

Cha Cha came for a visit and is settling in just fine! Zoe has her bath soon so she can head home.

It's getting quiet around here before the storm hits tonight. Do the weather people know what they are talking about or ??? Time will tell. The dogs will love it if they are right. Those that have to drive - not so much!

Today's Sedate Day

This is Coco after she was brushed.

This is Coco right after the first photo was taken. I think she is taking lessons from Wasabi who loves that free wielding hair of no return to freshly groomed.

Coco and Doozie will be bathed and take off on their first limo ride tomorrow afternoon. I have a carpal tunnel thing going on so Nathan has been helping me doing the first stage of grooming and I do the finishing and actual bathing.

Thanks to Lynda for letting me try a product that appears to be getting my hand to relax but now I want to eat with my left hand. hahahaha

I just finished watching a seriously disturbed movie called Sinister. I used to work with authors - some True Crime writers so I have read a lot in the True Crime genre but visual still disturbs me and this was rather like horror - oh boy - warning if you haven't seen.

Now back to dogs. We had Shoshi doing snow angels today. See the gallery. I just love how they get into it and Shoshi is a riot.

We also had Brewer here and I will post some of the photos I took of the visit on Spice's blog in a few.

The Doozie has decided she wants the love seat to herself. This is ALL MINE, Coco.

I think Roxie loves Lynda the best. She lives for her coming in. :-)

Tangles refuses to keep a tie in her hair and loves the bed on high where she can direct traffic.

Dusty was delighted to have Brewer over and is dead asleep. I snapped this two minutes before she faded out.

Zoe is missing Socks - its obvious so now Roxie is getting all her attention and Roxie has played hard today and wants sleep. Each dog has their own energy level. Sometimes I could use their energy. :-)

Time To Go In?

We have spent a fair bit of time outside - well some dogs have - some have vegged with Nathan and the TV and went out the odd time. Socks heads out tomorrow and Coco and Doozie next. Nathan is now doing a comb out and I am finishing. I am still finding knots but he's doing rather well. I am just not sure it floats his boat so to speak but he's been very helpful.

We have class with Dusty this week and Nathan has yet to get her on a lead. He asked me why I am not. I laughed. I said you do the grooming and I will lead train. That's where that conversation went. We will see how class goes. He does run around with the dogs, plays, walks them and is the wild and crazy guy. But its time to do Dusty work. :-) It has been busy - but....

He may be lead training the first night. hahahaha Me, I will be clicking - the camera that is.

Took a photo of Tangles with her brother Finn.

They loved playing with each other and it was wonderful to watch.

Coco and Doozie are creatures of wamth. They go outside and run not walk to the tv room to cuddle in the blankets and we always have a bunch especially when its wet outside. Besides they adore hanging out with Nathan. They adore snuggling.

Socks and Zoe were outside getting everyone running after them.

Dusty was running right along with them but not quite fast enough yet.

It's been a fun day!

JLo Had a Bath

Jlo is so funny. She loves to pose. Some dogs do and some don't. Tomorrow Finn gets a bath and a clean up and I will take one more photo of Tangles with her brother Finn so you can tell me which one is Finn. :-)

I am not putting up any other photos today. My battery is dead so they are charging. I have a carpal tunnel thing going on and that happens sometimes from lots of repetitive stuff so I am giving my hand a break. I washed Darcy. Nathan did a fair bit of brushing out and drying Jlo after I bathed her. I am not sure he liked me saying you need to do it this way or you miss that or but we got through it and he did buy me flowers so maybe all is well. He really did a great job under direction.

As I type Poor Truffie is panting and acting like a maniac as Abigail teases him from up on the bench. Girls... He is talking to her. Yes, he talks to her - more like begging. She gives in but its still early in the game but first connection - surprise.

Our days are never boring.

Okay, I lied - I had to put this photo up.

We have had mild flakes and Risa sits out there and sits out there and well catches flakes. This lack of movement forces us to look for any cleanups we may have missed but really Daddy didn't have to look for an hour while you sat, and sat and sat and she did. I just love her. Glad it was Nathan's turn instead of me. Even the rest of the dogs had long came back in. Good old Risa... she adores the cold.

She even sleeps in front of a fan in winter and yes we put one on for her. Besides I am of the age to appreciate a fan.

What a Day

This was Kona saying hello to his human Mommy when she picked him up. It was a glorious site. We already miss Kona. it's been so wonderful to watch him - rain - NO WAY - okay everyone else is so I will give it a try - snow diving - ARE YOU KIDDING - okay I will try that too. It's like he had to process it and realized if everyone else is and I don't then I miss the fun and he did have fun. I love a thinking dog who processes the situation then jumps in and tries it out. He is also so agile it is unreal. He can jump on a moving object and not miss a beat - fearless in his ability. Hope you are snuggling, sleeping and enjoying. Glad we got to know you even better. It made my heart swell!

Well, we had the Goldie here to play with her sister Dusty and she is a delight and Finn stopped in to spend time with his sister Tangles. It's funny watching the siblings as they are so unique but are similar. I am so lucky to see the pups and our adults and I do love them so!

Envy was jealous every time I snuggled with Tangles. That was unexpected so I made sure I had Envy time too. I guess he was named right. He doesn't seem to care about me snuggling anyone else - just that Tangled one.

JLo is going to get a bath tomorrow and then head home. What a riot she is. She is a total snuggle bug.

And Zoe that schnauzer with the brain of a havvie - he adored Kona and Kona adored him. Zoe also LOVES LOVES any puppy with his colouring - oh she loves them all but its as if she is more attracted to the tris. Got to love it!

Socks plays with everyone. He just goes from one to the next and then drops and sits at the recliner without a word till he is seen waiting to sit in Nathan's lap.

Coco and Doozie - well I can never say enough about them. They are so different and compliment each other so well that its an amazing fit. I love that fit that works! Coco is much like her mom who is a calming dog who lends comfort when you are ill. it is quite nice. Doozie brings fun to the world and that's quite nice too!

A special hope goes out to Logan and Panda's mom who is not feeling well - we hope you get well soon. May the Logie Bear and Panda take care of you well. May you get rest and they sleep right along with you like mine tend to when I am sick.

We have had a very full day. Here are a few photos - not all the photos but everyone today had an amazing time and guess what - so did I even if I groomed and groomed. :-)

Lots of Activity Today

Okay, I didn't get a chance to brush out Envy AGAIN as he was playing so hard. I actually brushed him out after Paula headed out and well he doesn't look so. This was a photo of Tangles jumping OVER Envy. What do you think is going through Envy's mind?

Finn comes tomorrow and I have to get a photo of Tangles and Finn as they look so similar or my memory thinks so. Let's see if they do with a side by side photo tomorrow.

Here is a photo of Kona and Socks. Kona gets a bath and heads out with Kathy tomorrow. I will miss him in a big way. Wow... She will be delighted to see him, I am sure! He's going to sleep and sleep I bet. The dogs simply have so much fun from morning till night.

Darcy comes for a quick bath and I will be so delighted to see her. I bet you Spice will be too!

JLo will also get a bath and head out. She has had so much fun with everyone but especially Roxie. I love that she has so much fun in her as you can see here.

Doozie and Pepper were giving Zoe the eye. They rather like her.

Zoe even tries to clean Pepper as if she is the mom. It's a riot!

Busy Day Tomorrow

Paula, hubby Tim, the 2 kids and Tangles and Envy are coming tomorrow morning. Scruffy and Pepper are also visiting so its going to be so much fun. My tummy is still a mess. Hoping by tomorrow I am not reading mags in the bathroom - sorry!

Molly came to visit and had a bath today. Isn't she beautiful? Gad I love her eyes and she is a KatxWasabi pup.

Levon was also playing up a storm. He is such a fun guy who is losing his teeth so I keep looking in case we see any as his mom is saving them.

Remy was also visiting today. Remy really, really liked Molly but who wouldn't. :-)

Everyone is gone and tomorrow will be busy too but fun, fun, fun as long as my tummy cooperates. I think I am eating Tums like I am eating candy.

The Socks and Jeannie was playing and playing and playing with each other. Levon was playing with Zoe who came to visit - a non Havanese.

I swear sometimes Zoe thinks she is a Havanese or she thinks the Havanese are really small schnauzers. Oh to get into their thoughts and truly know.

Kona has such a funny face in this photo observing all! What is it about blankets and sitting on high? It's how we set up the tv room so they have both.

I took so little photos today and Nathan didn't click a thing. <sigh> I tend to only click when I see a moment and I actually have the camera handy. That camera handy is an issue. I need to buy some contraption where I can carry it around with me wherever I am. Yeah...right.
