Taking Photos

First thing this morning it was cold but suddenly it warmed up so much that Dennis was busy pumping water off the pool cover as the dogs kept getting soaked.

Problem with this is the water has to go somewhere and that somewhere creates mud but don't tell Dennis that as he will tell you that's not true - yeah right!

So, we have had a truly fun day - much warmer in the afternoon but a messy day.

Why do some dogs love the trampoline effect of the pool cover mixed with the water? Of course it has to be the dogs that come to visit that don't want them bathed. ROFL

Nathan Training

We have had a busy day. We saw Jane and her husband Mark and Irma and Dick at the All About Pet Show and then Nathan told one of them we were starting in the back and we lost them. <sigh>We did look for you. Finally it was getting too late and we had to go.

Then we headed for lunch at Helen and Suzy's home - forgot the ice wine in the van. What a way to start a day. I rushed home, washed two dogs, Nathan did training, we ran with the dogs, Linda came over with Panda - Happy Birthday Lynda may Aruba be just the rest you need!

Here are a few photos I caught of Nathan training Jeannie.

Looking forward to snuggles on the couch with the dogs. Looks like Panda is still in heat. Can I say that Kat has lost his mind? He has.

Cody Loving

I had the immense pleasure of playing in a big way today with the dogs. The downfall is it is soaking wet and muddy out there so its my job to clean them up.

Cody gets a bath in a few minutes as he will be home bound after I bathe him but I managed to get some real loving in with him. He is a sweetheart.

I truly love taking photos of the dogs. To be able to capture and be a part of their experiences and spirit is like no other.

I call myself lucky in this regard.

Tomorrow we will be at the All About Pet Show at opening at the back door (think that is what they call it) and I hope to see some of you there. We already bought our tickets online and there is a coupon to save $3.00 if you do. Use EXHAAPS

Hoping to find some fun stuff for the dogs and for the pups.

Photos Received

Thank you, Piper - this was wonderful! I rather enjoyed this. If you have it in a larger size - send - I am printing out new photos for my walls.

Hi Darlah and Nathan,

Molly is going crazy over the shank bone on the Seder Plate. We want to wish you all a good Pesach.

On another note, Molly and I will be in the Lions Easter Parade with the Toronto St John Ambulance Therapy Dog Pack. This is her first official Group participation. She will have finished her 10 visits to the retirement home and she will be in her official “uniform”. We will take pictures and then I will write that little article for you Nathan. Hope it doesn’t rain.

Will  look for you at “All about Pets”.

Fondly,
Susan and Molly (also Larry)

------------------

Hope to see you at the All About Pet Show. We will be there Friday at opening. I just heard Bowser beds will NOT be there. <sigh> Mammoth beds will be and they are good quality but geez was counting on Bowser. When you go to the shows be sure to ask for samples folks.

Congrats on doing so much with Molly - wonderful!!!!!! Will look for you on Friday! To all our Jewish friends, Chag Sameach!

In addition to a week's worth of non-nutritious matzo, Jews who observe the dietary restrictions of Pesach are deprived of digestion-healthy, high-fiber grains and legumes that normally keep things moving. So it's not unusual at this time of year to hear people complain about the undesirable side effects of all this matzo in the diet. But there are things you can do to combat this problem, sometimes known as Pharaoh's Revenge. So may yours be an easy one! :-) Enjoy your sedars, eat well and as you can see extra shank bones may be appreciated by your havanese. :-)

"Passover and Easter are the only Jewish and Christian holidays that move in sync, like the ice skating pairs we saw during the winter Olympics." -Marvin Olasky

May those that celebrate Easter - may your holiday be special ones!

I had a great photo of Scruffy and Pepper but Nathan said he wants to use it in the mag so its missing. :-) You'll have to make do with Nathan and Darcy!

Levon was here but no photo clicking. Not sure why the camera has not been clicked other than the real small pups. Oh well... it happens - busy doing other things.

Sports Detection, Obedience & Birthday

Darlah and Nathan,

Am I correct in thinking that this is Darlah's birthday today?  If so Happy Birthday Darlah.  Today Coco, Doozie and I attended a workshop on Sport Detection or sniffer training.  The girls had to find the box that contained a scent canister holding a Q tip that has been dipped in wintergreen 24 hour earlier from a group of six identical boxes.  They both did very well but Coco was reluctant to put her head in the box the first time.  Later she identified the correct box by taking a bow at it.  She is such a good little problem solver.  Doozie was a natural,  took to it right away.

They are both tuckered out now.

Lot of love

Crazy Daze Continues

I am busy getting everyone groomed, Envy got a wash. I will put up a photo of Truff and him before grooming and in Envy's case before a bath. I just finished him now.

I am exhausted.

But our day started very early and I must now get everythig prepared afte the next bath for the seminar as we have to arrive at 8am with dogs done, prepared etc.

So, in case I can't update you later which will probably be most likely, here are a few photos that started at 6am today.

So, you can see as busy as it gets the dogs always manage to have fun!

Really Crazy Day Today

Roxie's Face tells you how I feel - Oh boy! Fun but....u got me!As you can see I am updating very late. I had a marathon of washing. It's been a tad insane and I just stopped now. So no galleries - extra photos - nada.

Today I finished Nathan's kits for his seminar. The one he is doing on Sunday, on my birthday. I had a ton of work getting that ready. I also procrastinated too much so I had extra dogs including Zoey (Dusty's sister that visited and had a bath. Now she is at home I imagine snuggling with her parents.

As it's my birthday Sunday and I am going to a breed seminar that Paula and Tracy are coming in for I needed to get some dogs ready to show at this seminar cause Nathan will be talking and I will be taking care of the dogs so he can show them. Plus when Paula comes in she always seems to time it when mine are due for their baths. She has perfect timing.

As I am feeling a tad old these days I pondered yet again covering the grey. Now I want you to laugh. I have never done this before so the box purchased a year ago sat and sat. I never quite found the time to do it and I knew I would honestly never had the time so I did the mix today, I put it in my hair, I washed Wasabi. 25 minutes passed, I put Wasabi on the floor with blowers on her and I hung my head in the sink. The stuff stinks. How does anyone ever do this but if you want to hide the grey. Then I put Wasabi back up on the table after conditioning the hair never getting to see what this dye stuff did to my hair, wrapped a towel around my head and started brushing Wasabi out. She was my last dog for today. I got hot so took the towel off, brushed my hair with a dog brush - doesn't everyone and finished Wasabi.

I then headed to the bathroom to take a gawk at what this stuff did beyond stinking something terrible.

Well, it didn't cover MY grey. Oh it is better but not complete. Why did I even bother?

Tomorrow I get to wash 2 dogs (Envy) and another before Paula comes as he heads home after this seminar. Paula insists on taking me out to eat and I wonder if I will be sleeping in my plate and just hoping Monday arrives. I doubt I will find anything to wear and well I am stilll grey and doesn't everyone got a breed seminar to help hubby on their birthday? ROFL

Now I want you to know despite insane busy I still got time to snuggle with every single dog. I washed, I snuggled, I played. I washed and then it began again. I have my priorities.

But can I go to bed now?

Shoot Me Now

He's MY man Pepper says!

The dogs have been in and out oh 4 times this afternoon (morning this didn't happen - snowballs that is) and each time they had snowballs from one end of them to the other. Poor Pepper had so many on her neck she couldn't move and did I take photos? NO but I was too busy.

Nathan has been away getting our grand daughter. I thought Dennis could take a nap but I woke him up and said I don't think so!

About the 4th time I told Dennis if he lets out Pepper and Scruffy one more time I will shoot him DEAD. He said but what is the problem?

Well, Scruffy knots up with snowballs so he got a mixture of detangler and water blown through him each time. Pepper was shaking in her boots - well she looks like she has boots so I did her first FOUR TIMES. Darcy could care less but I got her out of the way and then started in on mine. I did this 4 times and they can use the pads or Dennis can brush them out at least Pepper and Scruffy can till they go home.

I also had to get kits ready for Nathan this afternoon - so much for bathing dogs. Tomorrow - oh well marathon city I suppose - we shall see.

It's my birthday on Sunday. Lynda dropped in to give me a gift with the funniest card. It is delightful. I will have to take a video of it. It's so cute. Thank you, Lynda - you are quite the friend - truly.

But on Sunday I get to go to a breed seminar - help Nathan on my birthday and there is much to get ready for it.

So photos - I don't think so - sorry!

I will tell you that Ty was visiting and he loves the pups. He has since gone home. I had a ton of fun despite the snowballs watching the dogs and laughing at how they looked. Silly woman I am as I should have had my camera instead of concentrating so much on getting them off them. Or maybe I actually had my priorities right.

Scavenging

It's not just the pups that start the scavenging when the melt begins. Logan and Kat are out looking for whatever they can find like 2 peas in a pod.

It's rather interesting as usually Kat has no time for Logan. He's just another boy and well he's just another boy that is here when gals are all supposed to be mine but they have developed a relationship much like Truffie has with him.

They do things together and Kat likes that even more than the play. Sure Kat plays but he likes to forage and investigate and well be busy. One wonders what that is about but Logan also seems to like to do so as well. Logan is a huge play monkey but he has found this scavenger game fun.

Magic is here visiting and she just had a brush out. I also added a pretty barrette to her hair (thank you Shelley and Al) and doesn't she look great in it?

Magic has been so amazing today playing up a storm and now she is catching some serious zzzs.

I find they all do just before dinner time. What is that about?

Just a Day

Frannie's antics include standing on Nathan's kitchen chair as if to say - well where is the food?

You are filling the bowls MUCH too slowly. Gee Frannie - patience my gal. hahahahaha

Frannie was here and got a bath and now she is off with her Mary Beth. I miss her already.

She is truly a character.

We remain extra busy. This week we have our grand daughter so Nathan has to drive her to school, pick her up after school and spend some quality time with a teenager. We are oldies you know so that can be interesting - I say that as I watched Flashpoint with her last night and actually found I liked the show - who knew.

She doesn't like Idol - me neither but we watched it. She went online.

It's a busy week and I am playing catch-up on baths. I did poorly today. I only washed the Frannie so I am a tad behind - silly me - procrastinating.

I did manage to catch some shots of the younger set and with Mia playing with Roxie.

Roxie and Mia get along famously. They have an interesting relationship. Mia says we play on MY time not on yours. Roxie finds this to be a curious thing.

Now that she knows she waits for Mia to introduce play and then they play and play. But if Roxie introduces play Mia says - not now. huh?

Be sure to check out Spice's blog to see the younger set. They had such fun.

Remember When

I was looking through old photos to find Truffie at the same age as the pups now. As these are full siblings - just a different breeding, I thought it may be interesting to compare. See Fiona's blog to see what I mean.

But as I was walking down memory lane I caught this photo of Kat doing what he so loves.

It brought a smile to my face and I hope it does the same for you.

Yes, some Havanese like to swim. Some have a passion like Kat - well his passion is over the top.

It's as if he won the best prize in the world when Nathan gets on his swim trunks and thge pool is open for business. Can't wait till the next season and a bonus is pups swimming in the pool too.

Not much to report today. I have been grooming and washing. Dogs have been truly enjoying the day - me too other than the work.

Tomorrow I will click more photos. Today, I take a break from so much work for the blogs. Hope that is okay!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Cooper's parents gave us permission to use one of his photos all dressed for the festivities. Doesn't he look quite handsome?

Check out their blog!

I am far behind today. Balancing grand daughter and blogging and dogs and washes have been interesting.

Coco and Zack are now home. Instead of showing you what I clicked here, this is a photo of Moseby and Murphy when they got home after playing here.

It's nice to know they came, they ran, they played and now they are home chilling and probably having doggie dreams about their adventures. Ah, I just LOVE the dogs!!

Changes Always

Charlie departed - Zack and Coco soon and Frannie came to visit. But did I get photos - no was too busy taking the wee ones so forgive me....

Promise tomorrow to do better with photos. But hey I hope you enjoyed the photos of the little set on Treasure, Spice and this blog. It's busy around here but lots of fun.

When I combed out Shady today he kept licking his lips knowing the drill - hey where is teh treat - massage - will ya?

Tired and Needing Sleep

Well the Murphy, Moseby and Charlie will be heading out after a bath and they will be missed. They have added a lot of fun to our house. It's stayed relatively nice today. The dogs are all enjoying each other. They are now waiting to eat and have been lazing in the tv room with Nathan after hard play.

They do need down times and sometimes they don't get that so you do a sedate activity and suddenly they realize they are tired. Then and only then they will catch some serious zzzzzs.

Here are a few photos of the day.

Our grand daughter is over so our twin bed is in the spare room - the one that resides next to the bed so the dogs have more room. It was an interesting sleep last night.

What a Day

Sorry but its been a day. Got 2 dogs washed - last minute thing - didn't mind as I love seeing them but set me behind and our grand daughter was in emergency this morning and is back admitted. So, Nathan is off to get our other grand daughter to stay here and then off to the hospital and back here before dogs are picked up.

I am also busy getting bedding washed for a bed that I usually have up against ours for the dogs so our grand daughter has a bed. ROFL.

I've groomed, I conquered, I washed and well I am tired and very behind in blogs.

Everyone is having a ton of fun. Not a single dog isn't playing and enjoying themselves. That does my heart good.

Here are just a few photos that were snapped but I have no time to get them all up - sorry.

The last is Shady after his bath... lazing and staying clean so far. Will he make pickup clean or will he not?

Snow Disappearing

Time to get out there and enjoy the last white stuff. Spring is coming they say? Now how long will it take? Two weeks or 1 more month? Care to make a wager?

Well with spring comes rain and mud and twigs and oh I want the growth on plants to come up fast. I a months time we will have pups out in the garden. Life will begin anew again outside.

Just think, Fiona's pups will be the first puppies to swim this year. How fun is that?

I bet you Kat will be the first adult to swim. When you have a passion....

The dogs were groomed today. They are not getting as muddy today without the rain. They say the rain is returning tomorrow - joy.

Researching or trying to create new indoor games. I believe a busy mind is a happy mind. If you have some games you try with yours - do share. Today we tried group training out - well let's just say that was interesting.

Tuesday

Really Wet & Mucky

Remy says we still have ice in parts of the yard but oh my we have mud and leaves and will those plants survive the little ones? I rather doubt it.

Jeannie and Dusty are overzealous pruners - that's all I can say.

Remy prefers the ice and the dryer spots - only Remy and Fiona seem to care.

The rest - well I had mud tracks in the house, lots of cleaning with paws, the under carriage. I almost want to give up.

So when I washed Simba and Cody to go home, they didn't go back out. I may be a glutton for punishment but that would have made me totally insane.

So we practiced standing, sitting, downs and played games. I don't expect them to just chill and wait.

Cody is rather good at standing for a long time.

Before they get bathed I make sure they go out to do their duty and I watch and make sure. As you can see by looking at Simba we still have snow piles but those are fading. Those are only the snow piles that we shoveled up high to make paths. The garden area is, as I said muddy, the deck except for the extreme side is snow-less.

But as I went out a few minutes ago with the dogs, we are getting some white stuff flying but I don't think it will amount to anything.

I find the dogs love the cold - the rain not so much. So, me and the dawgs are in full agreement on that one!

It's been a too busy day grooming. I am not up to par so let's say that I may be crawling into bed at exactly 10 vs the 1030ish it usually takes us to get there. So there...

Monday

Wet Day

Spent most of the day grooming. I must admit I think the time change has done me in. I am ever so tired or maybe its the weather. My tummy is upset, I am tired and there has been a ton of grooming to do as it is raining. It's supposed to rain all week too with the exception of Thursday.

So we are all tuckered out.

I vowed to get photos of Marlee and Jazmyn but mom came early. Nathan was busy with dogs and their feet was wet. Patt said it was fine but I felt bad. It is true they were going back out and getting wet again so not much you can do but they were knot free and clean except for the feet. No photos though... sigh

I actually only got 1 photo of Coco chilling on the couch. Can the rain stop? I would much rather have snow.

Panda is now home with her human mom so that will be easier for Panda and for us - Thank you, Linda!! You are a dear friend!

I may crawl on the couch, let Dennis watch the pups and have dawgs all over me so I can feel better.
