Some Down Time

We managed to get some free spirit run like the wind moments today. It was nice and I did get into the pool. Didn't take pups in nor Nathan - just me and Dennis has such a bad sinus headache he's not hearing and he is off to bed.

Any of you that are getting your dog neutered or spayed I have these dog onesies. They aren't cheap but they have the tail cut out and can be used if they ever have something done where they need the area protected. They are stretchie and extra soft and used for dogs after they have had operations to stop them from taking the stitches out or scratching.

They come in red or blue and I own one myself. They cost $41 with HST included. Worth it? Yes. I picked them up from the vets as she sells them and she allowed me to bring some home to sell as I told her I have people who will want them. So, if interested, let me know. I only have xsmall which fits my size dogs but if you need a larger size and like them I can pick them up when we go to the vets again. I will collect the fee and just hand over the $$ to her. I only brought them in to help as she is the only one that has them and she is too far away from most of our puppy people. XS will fit most of our dogs that are going for neutering or spaying but as I said I can get larger sizes. End of sale pitch and don't feel obligated to buy. I will return what I don't sell as I am not making $$ off of them - its just a service as I like them.

Dusty came to visit and it was WONDERFUL to see her. I wish I didn't have to keep checking on Abigail pups but thats the way it is and well they are beautiful to watch too.

I took a ton of photos but no gallery. We had a blast today. I am tired. Pups are tired. Weather is great and the pool is a perfect temperature. May it stay this warm and then I will be complaining about all the gardening I need to do. hahahaha

First Swim 2013

Well didn't realize my lens was all wet so I got a blurry result but this is the first swim of 2013.

I can't believe I didn't realize but oh well.... at least I realized for the pups - yes they went swimming too!

Kat is loving that the pool is open. Me too! More swimming tomorrow.

Photos of pups and update tomorrow. This way I have something for you to look forward to.

Got my deck washed, the sunshade up, cushions out though I need new cushions and seems like more tables but we are enjoying the outside.

Have to keep coming in though to check on the Miss Abs pups or Dennis has to. So you enjoy but in small bits and pieces. Pups are still outside air drying. :-)

Missed Moments

Here's a photo of Messy Grannie Risa who just now finally got brushed out. This was her early morning - I am queen and I am going to stay out here all day cause the weather is great stance!

I was going to brush out Logan and Panda and post photos but Lynda brought me food (wow thanks) and picked up the duo early.

It was 79F they say today. We could have swam but Nathan was at the vets. I was here with the dogs. Next bath - for sure - remind me Lynda and a HUGE HUGE thank you! I didn't post I was on overload to hint about that - honest. I truly mean that.

I did demat a dog the other day and realized there is a direct correlation between dematting and how my hand feels but I also realized that I have something in my shoulder after I demat and I actually think that is where the issue truly is but that's Dr. Darlah talking - hahaha. I really shouldn't be dematting I gather. At least I never have to demat my own as I have grooming OCD. So my arm/shoulder will survive. My daughter the groomer reminds me that its either the knees, carpal tunnel or your back that gets you if you groom enough. She reminds me she did 18 dogs daily all this week. Well, she is far better than I but I bet you they were not all longhaired breeds. She's younger too - so make your mom feel like she is less than super human why don't you. :-)

Nathan wants Dennis to learn how to groom. That's funny. Now I want you to laugh as it really should be Nathan seeing he shows the dogs. :-)

Off to wash a couple that are going home tonight. Its 83F in the pool. I could have swam today but really had no time. Oh well. I can dream about it. Besides I need a swimsuit as mine has seen better days but in my backyard who can see me. :-)

Poor Fiona is beside herself as her pups are not here. Gad not good. Never seen her this way.

Today's Update

Juggling a great deal. Update coming late but it will come. Nathan is going to class and Logan and Panda depart tomorrow. Due to Nathan going to the vet tomorrow, I am washing the Logan and Panda tonight so I am behind. I can't wash tomorrow without Nathan here. All dogs were brushed. One had to be dematted (sigh) and Panda has been washed. Nathan took in a nap. Not I. :-(

Ty came for the day and found his fave spot out on the deck. It's glorious weather and the dawgs are loving being outside.

Brie and Colby departed and I was unable to go out as I was neck deep in pups among other things and Dennis was trying to sleep. That didn't work out so well so he is now sleeping. I am typing on the computer. Nathan is out back with the dogs and pups and he will be heading to class soon. I am hoping Dennis is up by then.

Panda and Shoshi love the lower part of the table outside. Panda was on one side, Shoshi on the other. Each had a strategic spot so they could watch everyone else. :-)

Coco prefers to hang out close to the pool. The pool is a balmy 78F now. A far cry from 48F when we started. It's starting to get clear too. They say really warm by Sunday so maybe I will get a quick dip in and then again perhaps not. We shall see.

The dogs were very social today but also sedate. That's hard to explain. We had a lot of visitors - well Nathan did. I had dawg duty inside. That happens when you have a son trying to sleep. This too shall pass or so they say.

Kat and Logan rather enjoy each other these days. They even have the same stance when they want in.

It's been a long day but I feel like I missed the visitors and I did. Sorry everyone but I am sure you enjoyed Nathan and the dawgs. I also had no downtime. I am rather exhausted and don't see down time till I go to bed about 11 as Dennis likes to take a shower at 10pm and he likes a long one. :-) Then I get up at 630. But at 6 the dogs are saying NOW and I am saying NO and this all happened after the time change. I need blackout curtains, I am afraid.

I think I am hungry and exhausted and Nathan has to leave soon and Dennis is still sleeping.

No Update

All the dogs are doing wonderful but with pups getting born, dogs needing to be groomed and those going home I just can't do it today. I hope you understand.

To say it was a tad crazy today would be an understatement. I didn't even find time to eat. Did groom dogs but still not sure how I did. hahahaha

Thank you Dennis for playing with the dogs and giving them extra love!

No Photo Day

We had crazy deck play today but I think the crew was checking out the pool cleaner. It is still working and it may be days before itts clean and warm enough. hahahaha

But know that the dogs are playing like crazy and I mean like crazy. I know the Pepper has been playing non stops with the pups and is bound to be dead tired.

Colby has an interest. No desire to go in the xpen but likes sniffing through the xpen and touching noses. Brie just wants to play with the older guys.

Doozie really likes Copper boy where Coco loves, loves, loves the gal. They kiss each other. It's a riot.

Well sorry for a lack of visuals. I may do a gallery with the older ones tomorrow and not with the pups this way you don't feel it's all about the pups. It isn't. I adore them all!

Fun of Dawgs

Levon came visiting and I hope he is resting at home tonight as he had a wonderful time. He was flirting with Brie in a huge way and flirting with Spice too. They can't BOTh be your gals you know. hahahahaha

We are waiting for the pool guys. They have yet to come but I managed to get a few photos today. As it was mostly me and the dawgs today I didn't get as many as I wanted.

But first of all, we got this in the mail today. Simba= havanese Chloe = human child

Lara said:

We recently celebrated Chloe's birthday.  I asked her what kind of cake she wanted expecting she would say Barbie or princess or something. Instead she said she wanted a family cake w simba on it. How cute. Here it is we scanned a picture of the girls and simba on a cake.

So cute, Chloe!!!!

Now on to the day's photos.

Levon the flirt is all I am going to say....

Promises

I am sorry. I meant to click more photos today but we had a busy weekend with visitors and I clicked pups. For shame but I did catch this one of Ziggy before he departed. I call it - I will do anything for a treat... well almost anything. ;-)

I stood nice, I stuck my tongue out, I sat - so give me the treat will ya?

No Photo Day

When the warm weather comes there is so much to do. Rake, rake, rake, cut, cut, cut, clean, clean, clean and put all the furniture out, open up the pool and wonder how you will ever get under the deck to get the pups out cause you know its too much fun under here and we are NOT ready to go inside. Gorgeous weather today but this old body can't do all that work and not pay. Looking forward to family, friends and dawgs enjoying the pool.

That's what we were doing after I took a look at the sorry state of the yard after a long winter. I raked piles. Nathan filled bags and pups were running around like banshees.

I looked at the pups and all 3 were under the deck playing so hard it was a riot. They would run out, sneak a drink and run back. When we took them out this time all 3 went running not walking out of the bag. Wow each time you do this they find the fun and let loose. Each time it's better and better and well it made all this work easier but we have guests tomorrow and still we have much work to do. I want to hose down the yard but won't till tomorrow night. Just don't want the yard soaked when guests are coming. It's time to chase the last bit of winter away.

Dennis got the gazebo cover on. The pool house needs work and emptying before Monday. Abigail you best wait as we have a full plate.

Pavvie departs anytime now. Ziggy tomorrow. Coco and Doozie are really coming into their own playing with everyone and I mean like I have never seen - crazy fun play. Brie and Colby is coming as they have floors getting done - lucky them. Sometime soon Abigail will surprise us.

But no time for photos - will do some Monday. Yeah - this weekend is just too crazy busy and I have Abs to get ready too. Maybe its time to make a list so nothing gets forgotten.

Crazy Day

I had a silly crazy day today. I was trying to convince Nathan to groom so these photos are BEFORE grooming but they were having such fun!

Okay, how many dogs are in this photo?

Now off to watch tv and snuggle with the dogs. We have a busy weekend so I need a breather before it gets too busy! Abs best hold out.

Baths and More

The Cooper came for a visit and now he is home playing catch-up on his sleep, I am sure. He also got to see the pups but more of that on Fiona's blog.

As you didn't see Truffie for quite sometime, I figured I would put up some photos of him. His hair was snatched off by a visitor so we are in growing back stage and I refuse to trim it till it's long enough so it's rather messy. This way I can shape it properly when it is fully grown out. Head hair grows back the slowest of all hair. I am not sure why but it is true so if you cut the bangs short expect a slow motion growth spurt.

I tried to get a photo of Truffie but it was an experience as it always is except when you catch him doing something other than posing. Here Cooper, Doozie and Coco are wondering why he's standing on the pad. I think Truffie is smart enough to make sure I never get a POSED photo of him. :-)

I did brush him but he is a man who likes to roll after getting brushed out.

Here are a few more of him. As I said, he's seen better days but the coat on the head is coming back. The tail and the body hair has never been an issue.

Truffie is a character - a lovable one at that!

Nathan caught him with devil eyes - red eyes of course. His eyes are brown actually.

Then he said he would try to stack him - yeah still has to have a tongue out. But he's cute never the less but hey I am biased.

Truffie has a lot of white in his brown areas of his coat so he looks lighter than darker depending on the lighting etc. He is in his lighter than usual stage look but he will go darker again. His coat does that. He has a number of colours through his coat and in the summer he turns a reddish brown. He is a chocolate.

Truffie is a laid back boy who is quite funny. When he is going to mate he looks at you as if to say - can I please - can I?

His fave place is sleeping under an ottoman in the TV room. He barely fits but it suits him just fine. He also swims, is an excellent retriever and LOVES, LOVES, LOVES toys. I can have treats in my hand with a pile of dogs and he will sit back, wait his turn as he knows he will have a turn. I rather enjoy his personality. But his head hair - well it needs to grow back. :-) It' s getting there. At least it's not sticking straight up like it used to and I can now put it in a rubber band. That's progress.

Truffie and Cooper were playing wonderful earlier today and I say earlier - like 6am. hehe

Short Update

Had a few baths. It's raining. Got to play with dogs and not let only Dennis and Nathan have all the fun and me all the work so a short update today.

Miss Molly, Nora and Shady was here for a bath. Cooper dropped in for fun, fun fun and he hasn't stopped. I need to click him in action but here is a few that had their baths today.

May not update till tomorrow. Need some dog time and well the tummy is not cooperating today.

Really Crazy Day Today

Sorry not many photos of many dogs as we realized we had a family of raccoons living in our yard displaced from our neighbors house a few days ago - thank you very much.

Here are the photo of the kits as they call them about 2 weeks old sitting in a bucket on a heating pad as we are big sucks. But its not a good place and hope Mom realizes this as there is no protection from rain etc.

They are cute little buggers. At this age just like pups they can't see or walk.

Before we realized this was an issue (Dennis found them as we were putting out pool stuff and furniture and he heard them) I took a couple of photos and then we have had to play inside waiting for a humane wildlife guy to give us tips on how to handle it. This the bucket, the heating pad and we are now hoping that mom moves on to a better place.

Now on to the dawg photos.

One would think all that I captured was Ziggy and Scruffy but that was almost it and then we realized we had to come inside and we got too busy playing silly games inside. Sorry about that.

Having Fun

It's all about having fun and that is the operative word. Run, play, run, play and crash out and cuddle and watch tv. It's all we are doing in-between getting each of the dogs combed out.

Thi sis a no photo day. The hand is well has its limitations. Nathan is also brushing but I look around and they aren't brushed like I do but he is trying and I do love him. It helps that I am just finishing and finding what he doesn't. :-) It's all good but look for more photos tomorrow - not today. Forgive me - need to play recovery.

Messy and No Photo Day

Hand hurts, heart hurts - not up to this today but all I can say is Nathan needs to start grooming MY DOGS as my dogs need grooming. Cause if I groom them with this hand they will be all MINE. hahahahaha

Dogs are doing great. We are just about to watch Idol on the tv with with laying all over us. I need it. You should try it. It truly makes you feel better.

Dawgs... well nothing like them!

Woke Up to This

Dogs ADORED it. Dennis laughed and said I told you it would snow again.

Then it melted.

Ringo the play monkey departs today and Darcy is an amazing ball of fun. Not much of an update I know but can't. Hand is too bad.

Cold Coming

Sorry, I am so behind. Here are photos Dennis took today as its hard for me to click. He didn't get everyone - sorry. He thought I wanted him to focus on the pups visiting. I would have liked him getting Ringo and Pavvie jumping like maniacs on the couches back and forth after each other but he didn't. He didn't get much of the adults at all despite them having a ton if fun. But he is just learning how to capture and even though he couldn't figure out zoom at first and some are far away, I think he did a pretty decent job.

Be sure to also check out the sibling photos that we tried to get of them together on Treasure's blog.

My hand is killing me so I am done - sorry about that!

Cold as set in and its wet and yucky out - sigh.

Wow Warm

It was totally warm today - rain and cold coming tomorrow. I found as I clicked the camera (Nathan was away at a meeting) it hurt so no update with photos today. Just know my limitations. I am hoping tomorrow is better. But we had fun and enjoyed the outside. I am going back out to watch them play.

Just give me a couple of days so I recover. I did have the pups out too but only got a few photos of that too. Seems stupid movements irritate - things you don't think would do and well there are things I must do as Nathan was not here. But if I hold a dog a certaon way I can brush - not comb. Don't ask. I just watch Nathan and well I must - just visitors of course. Mine I will play recovery but they have had baths so shouldn't be difficult.

Just know we are having fun!

No Update Today

As time goes on the hand is getting really bad the more I type - so just a couple of photos. I will tell you Coco and Pavvie are playing and playing and playing. Ringo and Ziggie are 2 play monkeys. Doozie loves playing with Ziggy and Ringo. It's a great and I mean great fit. But photos - sorry - it hurts to click. Yes, it is that bad. Sorry.

Nathan or I will groom tomorrow. Today was a no grooming day as I had no choice. But I will tell you the cohesiveness of this crew is wonderful. Everyone is playing their hearts out. Nice!

Nathan managed to click these but he didn't click much - sorry. Icing hand and hoping tomorrow is a better day.

Time to Clean Up

If we do not have anymore snow it will be time to clean up the pool cover before it is opened. It doesn't get opened till the last week of this month or the 1st week of May.

It's booked and suddenly it will be swim time - yeah I wish.

Coco LOVES to watch tv from on high. I am glad we have not only a table with a bed on it, an ottaman, 2 couches and a huge crate that stays open that attaches the two couches in this room. They love the crate on top, inside and the back of the couches but they also love the recliner.

Sometimes they rush to get their fave spot. It's a riot.

No photo day today. But please realize it wasn't a sedate day in the least. It was play, play, play. I just found clicking the camera hurt the hand today. I did photos first thing this morning of pups and a few of the adults and then the hand was screaming. Sorry about that!
