The Heat is On

This is the look that Tchibo gave me when I said time to go out in that heat. He is a riot.

It's actually too hot for pups so other than 1st thing this morning they were inside playing. As I type they want to play yet again. I have a class project to complete after blogs so it will be Dennis turn.

Dogs had fun despite the heat and the heat is still on. Tchibo has departed. Lexi and Benji is going later tonight. Yes there is another Benji. We haven't seen Benji - well this one since covid began. We so miss the dogs. It's not about how our boarding tanked - there is that but the ones we have not seen. It's such a crime. Looking forward to normalcy soon and hey when we have it - go away and bring your dogs here. LOL We so miss all of you. There isn't a day that goes by that someone comes to mind and we go I wonder how so and so is.

To thinder showers tomorrow. Will they come? My veggies demand that it comes. My weeds want the water too. LOL

Hi Darlah and Nathan!

Emmy is 3 years old today!  Cannot believe how time flies. While we wish pandemic life to soon be over and we return to some sense of how life used to be, we think Emmy is loving the work from home deal!  She is probably over attached...(though this may be mutual!)..and we will have to stage a transitioning soon. 

We adore her so much and are so grateful to have found you as breeders!  She simply has the sweetest personality....so attentive, gentle and goofy!  We wish Emmy's litter mates a happy birthday today and the Talemaker family a wonderful summer ahead!

High on Grass

Yes, I was trying for humour but one has to laugh at our grass. I told Nathan it was good exercise for him and he can pace himself and I have enough on my plate. Will it get done or not? Soon we will not even see the heads of the dogs.

Nathan was out with the dogs and 2 birds came flying into the pool. Nathan takes photos of the birds but not of Harlow chasing the birds away. What was he thinking?

Lots of grooming today. But fun is had. At the moment inder a heat alert, the dogs are enjoying the air more. Can you blame them?

Long Day in Paradise

As you can see the weeds are growing. Have to laugh. I get one area done and look around and its all so overwhelming but we will get there.

I will tell you that at my local Loblaws store there is everything from herbs to lettuces, to peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers - all veggies for $1 a piece and larger for $3. They even have strawberries and NICE ones but I have mine. I almost wanted to buy more as we eat strawberries like crazy but I resisted and it took a lot out of me. HAHA They are all in good shape. I got lettuce as I did not have any and got 3 types. I was shocked they are already clearing out but they said no one has come since the May 24 weekend. Huh. There was about 4 other people whn I was there.

Some of my plants I brought indoors did not survive but I still have them dead looking in pots remaining hopeful. Hope is a good thing.

The dogs love the plants. As they tend to use them for walking paths not as things to admire - well- That's okay.

We have a full house here today. It's been a LONG time. Business has been exceedingly slow as no one is going anywhere but let's hope as things get less restrictive. We genuinely miss the dogs and worry that dogs are not interacting with others during covid. A few come and get their play in and good for them. It gives them a great time and they get more well rounded.

Nava that departed earlier was highly fascinated with the puppies. It was a no swimming day and it should have been a planting of lettice day buy was it? Too late today. I know you slacker but I say shall I or shall I rest? Wonder which one will win.

Hot and 1st Burn

Having a tough time uploading a photo but will keep trying.

It was a hot day. Nathan needs to cut the grass as its getting high. I weeded the path in my middle bed. Dennis said why when you have weeds everywhere else. I said one step at a time.

Rocky is smittened by Tempie. He departs tomorrow and they will miss each other.

Nathan had a good birthday and the dogs enjoyed seeing River and Adele. It has been over a year since we seen them. We did the social distance thing. They went to swim. They brought Swiss Chalet and an ice cream cake. We won't see them for Father's day as Tracy's bday is the same day as Father's day this year. So, we were told this was it. They looked at the pool house and went when did you do that? I said a year ago. Time goes by too quickly.

The dogs so had fun with my weeds, throwing them here and there till I got a bag. If I didn't have to gather it twice more I would have laughed. But they had fun so I did too. Harlow instead of playing with it laid on it and Rocky slid into it. It was too hot to weed and even the dogs said indoors today. 

Early Blog Today

This one decided to chase Hallie around the edge of the pool and in she went. She had to get blow dried and here she is a mess again! We are always out there with them so it is not a big thing and the water is warm. She looked like she enjoyed it and did it on purpose.

As it is Nathan's birthday today, we are spending most of the waking hours outdoors.

Ronnie came by with smoked meat - yum and we chatted a bit. It was so nice to do so! Thank you, again. We treasure people like you and Sylvia who is bringing Nathan Sashimi and Sherry who is always there - Dorothy my neighbour wants to know if you are for hire. We are blessed!

We are also dog people blessed. Can't get better than that!

Slacking

What a slacker I am but I groomed and groomed and didn't click other than puppies. It was a warmish day. Good thing it wasn't hot as I would feel like I was missing something. I am sitting here hurting from grooming and yawning. It's ridiculous to yawn at this hour.

Dogs played a ridiculous game of run around the pool that I thought someone would fall in but nope no one pushed anyone out of the way. They are learning!

I have the hiccups that won't quit. I mean they won't so that's it for this blog!

Blurry Fun

We do a run around the pool daily and sometimes it is just a blur of dogs. They love, love, love it!

Down For the Count

Went for my vaccine today and I am down for the count. I guess my immune system is working as I have a massive headache, pain and warmth at site and down my arm, up my arm to my neck. I can't stay focused. Nathan just pain at site.

So, dogs are enjoying. I am not so much. I may actually crawl into bed. This will pass.

Snow Really?

It's almost June and yes, we had snow. Is this crazy or what? It was too cold and rainy that the dogs went out between but mostly they wanted to stay indoors.

We had a gas leak that they came out to fix this morning. Nothing was inside the house but oh boy you could small it badly outdoors. We thought it was our propane tank so I shut that off and now without matches he can't use teh BBQ but that is okat as teh gas guy said we still have a small leak that another guy will come out to fix within 7 days. Must be a tiny one or I would think it would be sooner. It seems he could only work on one section and the other guy works on the section that needs to be fixed.

I am just glad we are all okay. It is downright cold indoors and we can't put the heat on but thankfully the pups are of age that they can now regulate their bodies and climb into beds and blankets.

Nathan's birthday is June 1st and Sherry's is June 2nd so a huge shout out to them for surviving another covid birthday! (sigh)

Yikes Cold

It is ever so cold or feels that way. I have socks, slipers, long sleeve shirt on and a light jacket when we were out with the pups. Brr

I got caught up on grooming even though I booked today off. LOL

Dogs do not mind the cool. Maui and Ellie so wanted to play with the wee ones. Rebel wants to so play with the Ellie, Maui and Barney but she does and then they focus on the others. It's like a party that you quite don't mesh yet but you persist. Then all of a sudden Rebel is included. Good for you Rebel for trying and trying again.

Roxie was caught kissing Spirit's littlest through the bars on deck. It was cute!

PS: I am so impressed with the teeth cleaning - so impressed. We are having a date in June 25th where they are coming to our place. If anyone is in need, let me know.

Sprinkles

We never got in the pool today as it was lightly sprinkling off and on.

Tomorrow we are trying a service that cleans teeth without anesthesia on Raven as a test case to see if we want to use their services and let others know about it. We will let you know how it goes. We have to go up to Barrie  just for thsi test case otherwise they would come to our home if we have multiple dogs at a time. More about this later.

I still have 2 dogs to groom tonight. Harlow as she is departing and one of my own - Willow. I fit my own in here and there. Now that the sun came out bright and shiny - yep got to groom. Go figure.

The dogs rather enjoyed the spinkling, Not enough to irritate but enough to cool things down.

Hotter Than...

Barney is in love with all of the girls. He follows them around, engages with them as if he is wooing them for a life partner. LOL

It was a hot one today. I managed to get in the pool for less than 10 minutes as I had dogs to groom. Nathan was able to bask out there. I am jealous. It is what it is.

The dogs only wanted to be out in short spurts. Who can blame them.

We played. Dennis played with the hose and the dogs biting the spray. Did it cool them down? I am not sure. :-) Murphy still as hot as it was wanted to laze in the sun. We only let her for short spurts of time.

Forgot to say Rosey wanted in to see the pups but they are not ild enough. She kept jumping up and down to get in.

What a Slacker

Nathan cut the grass a few days ago and the dogs are still smelling and dandelions are already coming up. LOL

I do not have a gallery as we have been investing our time into weeding, transplanting, playing with dogs and well lazing as that is what the dogs are enjoying. Both Barney and Harlow who are visiting is having a roaring grand time. barney is in live with any and all the gals. LOL

Now to take pups out again and well I need to finish my seminar classes and well there is that weeding. Little by little. Today around the daylillies.

Also, I hung the curtains on teh gazebo but still need to put up the netting so when the bugs come, we can still eat without getting invaded. No hooks and 7 short for the curtains. You have to love it. Has anyone notice this junk like hooks are 4 times the cost this year and they are blaming covid. Getting tired of blame covid.

Warm and Fun

Dennis forgot to click so I captured Harlow walking around the pool. I am going to try to get her in the pool tomorrow.

I have to find my gazebo curtains to seed if I can get them up.

The dogs enjoyed the day. A few went next door to see the kids. Yes - Nathan was masked - the dogs not. The kids really enjoyed them.

It was a good day. Now to look through to see where the curtains are.

Rain or What

Dogs had fun. Here is a mini gallery. I am still doing a seminar among other things. So late and short blogging.

No pool - well Nathan did at 9am then it got overcast and I had too much to do with trying to swim.

Barney dropped in and is staying for some days. That's rather nice! I bought some cheap annuals to create my own hanging baskets. I am going to try to do them tonight. Nothing special in them just some colour and the were $99 cents each from Loblaws. So if I put a few things from the garden and put them in existing pots that I had from last year it will be about $4 a pot. Well, let's see how they come out. LOL

Best get busy and the dogs can play in the garden with me then inside chores.

Guess Who Dropped In

Misty was mighty happy as Bailey dropped in for about 15 minutes. It made her day and us too.

I am doing a seminar the entire weekend so I am late and light on things but we still had a ton of fun.

It was a hot, hot day. Should have been in the pool.

On Chair

Well, it was warm. We got our orange outdoor sofa outside. Teak will get out this weekend when finished.

The dogs LOVE LOVE the furniture outside as then they have room to jump on high and lounge here and there but Nathan says no room for the lounge chairs. He has his chair and I have my couch. It is covid times so that's all we need. LOL

The dogs lounged and ran and enjoyed but no one swam. What can I say. We are still working on it.

Stopped at the Farmers market as our son lives next door and needed to come up to take the couch out and all that fun stuff. Wearing a mask in a car is... well sweaty and hot and yelling at him at the back of the van almost comical.

Fruit was subrate. The plants are little and extremely high in price. I was not impressed. Got some beefsteak tomatoes but by the time they give me anything it will be the end of the summer at this rate. All they had is baby plants. I sort of give up. No strawberries, no herbs and plant pots that are small with flowers for 69 dollars - really? I may skip gardening this year.

Dogs - well they are heading back outdoors. I heard leftover steak is on the menu. Nathan finds he can get some cuts of steak for them cheaper than ground beef. The dogs love it and we like indulging here and there.

Daze or Days

Mr Shlomo After BathWell, all the pups have departed. We are making sure the moms get refocused. I am trying to get refocused. I mentioned to Nathan what an amazing crew this is.

New areas were created for Sage and Spirit's crew. I feel decadent as I am not doing blogs at 9pm. LOL I didn't groom today other than Harlow and Shlomo and the two moms and okay a couple others. Shlomo departed today. I also forgot to click the adults though we did have lots of play sessions and fun. It was a do do do day vs. a capture day and I hope you do not mind. It is important to have focus on finding new ways to play. This is a no gallery day for this blog but we will play catch-up tomorrow.

We have so much to play catch up on and I have a seminar that starts Friday till Sunday night. I will still be doing blogs - just not grooming like my usual. I will be doing a dog here and there and hoping Nathan does the same. We shall see. I have earned this mini break even if its a working seminar.

I still have a long to do list but I can now find time to do something extra to notch it down.

Dryer refused to work today. I went okay what else is going to break. We have had a heck of a year so far. Good people though - good hearts, amazing people who love their dogs. Be still my heart! I have terrible luck and am wondering what the hey and then Dennis climbed behind and noticed the vent hose was ripped and crushed. He tried to repair it but not truly doable but he managed to attach it after cutting the vent hose but now the dryer has to sit out as the vent hose is too short. But guess what - the dryer WORKS. You have no idea how happy that made me as I had 5 loads after changing out all the pens. Can you imagine all that stuff hanging all over the fence? My neighbours can't either. So I am thankful for Dennis. Interesting enough the dryer would not work without it installed properly.

So sad news, thankful news and we are here greatful that we made a lot of families happy this week. All that I ask is you love them and do right by them. They so deserve it and so do you! What they give you is unconditional love and it can't get better than that!

Late Blogs

It will be late blogs today and tomorrow. My schedule is beyond insane. I did a full groom on a dog that ended last night at 10:05 that is going home today. I must wash 2 pups as soon as Nathan is done a shower as I will not have time tonight. I have a number of dogs to groom between and after departures.

Good news. We do have air and Dennis kept saying its not working but it is. Figuring it will be hot tonight, that is a gift to us!

I need to get to Thursday though that will mean setting up the 2 litters into the older existing pen and dividing it. That's a lot of work. Friday to Sunday I have a seminar that I paid for so I must attend. All next week is booked for grooming. I wish Nathan groomed. I wished Nathan repaired. I wish..
