Before the Groom

After I finish the blog, I have to groom everyone. I was so busy with grooming today that I looked around and said no rest for the weary. LOL

Nathan got his 1st hair cut since February 2020. Is that right? 17 months ago? My brain may be fried but it can't be. It was a great haircut but he listened to the barber say if there is another lockdown he is out of business. It seems the loans they got to pay their rents are due to be paid back in Debruary. I didn't realize they had to pay them back. We considered as our business tanked but glad we did not. The moral of this is tip when you can. Everyone needs it and what comes around goes around.

The dogs had a lot of fun here. They always manage to. Not a day goes by that they are not enjoying and that makes me happy.

Slowly we are getting boarding. Normalcy seems to be creeping in.

Ollie is here and thinks his mom shoots the moon. It is amazing how close they are after all this time.

We got the estimate for the gas line and let's say we could buy a car. 29 days and counting till no gas. I have to laugh as I thought that was illegal. Let's move on from such depressing things.

Ripley was here was just picked up and the rain started coming down so a run to the car. I so love Ripley. He makes sure he checks in on me to get lovie. While grooming he lics both sides of my face. It's a riot! Tenshi was just picked up - umbrella time. So funny navigating rain and when we were kids we would just walk and let it fall.

Shlomo was here for the day and groom. I hear he is living the cottage life. Lucky guy!

Dante arrived and what a grand puppy boy he is. Spirit was over the moon happy to see him and he is happy, happy happy. He is playing with everyone!

Tomorrow 2 Benji's are coming plus many others for grooming.

It's going to be some truly fun days! Now to get grooming so I can get my doggie cuddles in.

Bailey departed earlier just after her groom. She was happy to see her Mommy but I bet she will sleep as she played and played.

Ringo just arrived and boy was he delighted to see everyone.

We cannot believe that our Leo is already one today! Time truly flies. We are so grateful to you and to momma Raven for bringing this bundle of joy into our lives!

Please Listen

Do not give vaccinations and flea and tick meds at the same time. Nor do you give rabies at the same time as a 2 way or 3 way or 4 way. The rabies should be a stand alone.  If you have a little pup that just went home and are not taking them to the cottage etc they should not have flea and tick meds till they are of a size. By giving them at the same time with a low body weight you will flood them with toxicity and they may have tremors which is a result of too many toxins in the body. Squirrel Hunting Between Rain

Yes, they were hunting those crazy beings that run along the tree and fence and they had a blast doing so. They never catch them but have fun chasing.

This is Dennis day off so I get to do the things he normally does. Due to all the rain, I do not have to water. Hooray.

Nathan is off to class - yes 2 nights in a row with Rebel. I will let him comb her out. The dogs have neen exceedingly playful today indoors running like banshees and just plain hysterical.

Nathan put my ikea storage thing together and chipped a huge chunk out of the top. Oh boy. Tried gluing - wouldn't work. Not sure he actually saved all the pieces. I thought decorating with vinyl to cover and flowers or something and then I ordered a oversized mouse pad and it will cover the deed. I am sadly disapointed but it is what it is. I can fill it and it will be useful - just damaged. LOL

Nathan just finished feeding the dogs and I need to do the dishes then he heads to class. I get to do the dogs and water, pads etc till he gets home at 815ish. 

Pablo and Rosie has departed. Brewer departs soon. Mr. Ollie arrives tomorrow. Tenshi departs Wednesday or Thursday. 

What's Up?

What is going on with this weather? We just want to swim. The dogs do too! The threats of rain is putting a damper on pool time but that's okay. Our tomatoes are almost ripe. Our cucumbers are yum delicious and so are our green and wax beans.

We played indoors, outdoors and now its almost tv time. Nathan is off to class with Rebel. It's the last class but he joins the 3rd class of another family dog on Tuesday.

We had a number of dogs visiting and/or getting groomed. A few remain.

I need to weed  and this is the best weather for it but my grooming schedule says - another day.

Nathan built an Ikea storage thingie and he didn't put anything backwards. After all these years with kids etc he finally can. That's an inside joke.

I am learning to groom a few dogs later in the day, If I don't, they look like I never touched them. That's okay. They are living and enjoyed like we need to!

Pablo thinks all the gals are his. I am so laughing!

Will it Rain or Not?

Here's the Archie boy that just departed. He is so in love with Hallie and so are so many others and that is why her hair is chewed. LOL

Nathan is building the 1st Ikea thing and is on page 11. We will see if he completes and starts the 2nd one. Yes, I am laughing.

It keeps threatening rain and sometimes it does, sometimes not. We can play games inside too. I think I may have to take them upstairs so Nathan can concentrate. LOL

Homemade chicken strips is on the menu for teh dogs as their treat!

Warmish Day

Stormy was having fun watching Alfie. It was fun to have another younger set lively one to watch.

Dogs departed. Archie arrived. Spa days for many tomorrow, Monday and onward. They say sun may grace our doorstep tomorrow. The dogs will be thrilled.

As I type, we are watching a movie with dogs all over us. It's hard to type but rather funny.

You Humans

Okay it is wet outside but it only sprinkled. As you can see in droves they are saying let me in. I was inside. Dennis was out. I had to capture this moment. I clicked and let them in.

I groom and groom and groom and they say rain till Wednesday after tomorrow. We are back taking 1 day off a week. My day is Wednesday. Nathan's is Thursday but may need to change his till Friday as he has a dr appt on Thursday and a haircut. His first in over 16 months - wow. Who wants a day off with a doctor and hair appt even though he thinks its a miracle he can get it cut.

I have waited for 9 months to get 2 pieces that have to be built from Ikea. They finally got stock in and Dennis can't assemble due to his hand. I am about to kill him as he doesn't get it taken care of. So, guess who will try to put these bloody things together. I waited 9 months and if it sits for 2 months - what does it matter but I mention it as it is funny. Why didn't they get in stock when his hand was okay.

I built a ramp that Mia's mom ordered and couldn't return and I have it 80% built and the screws do not align and Nathan tried too. It sits in my front hall. I so wanted to give it back to her built. I miss the guys in my life being whole. LOL

Today, Dorothy brought me enough gin, tonic, limes to make me comatose. Thank you, friend. Now we need weather so we can enjoy time together and no not weeding - swimming and dogs.

Coco departs tonight. She will be missed. She had a full groom and looked at me as if to say really then when she was finished, she went on her merry way. Pepper is having the time of her life. She may sleep and sleep when she departs tomorrow. No bath for her so a full comb out with this weather is necessary. 

Rocky thinks the recliner is his and no one else is allowed except Ella. LOL Picky guy... Though he plays with others, I think something about the chilled Ella makes him happy.

Murphy waits till her turn for a treat. It is amazing how patient she is. As long as she has her turn she is happy.

Logan and Panda arrived till Sunday. Ellie, Archie, Alfie and Winston comes tomorrow. Rocky, Murphy and Pepper departs. Lots of grooming tomorrow and Monday. But that's okay. There is no sunshine and well I get extra snuggles and yes they snuggle and play with me while I groom them. 

Tuesday brings a day off for Dennis - 1st in a long time. 

What Weather

It rained and then stopped. We let the dogs sniff around the back yard. They do not like the wet ground but it got worse. After we just got them inside the rain came down where you couldn't even see for hours. We had rain seeping in the doors. Towels blocking. A patio flooded and a pool filled above capacity. I love storms. I do not like the work this one created but the fresh air after - wow nice!

Poor Ripley said really outside in this? He was not the only one. Murphy REFUSES to go out. Now they have just eaten and Dennis is having a terrible time getting them to want to go out. It's no longer raining so... but wet feet and all. Can you blame them? I was going to groom some of my dogs but figured that was counterproductive.

Hope the rest of you missed this one or at least you were inside and it didn't cause any flooding for you. The havs say life is always interesting with these humans.

The dog's enjoyed the cooler weather. Now we are playing catchup - well Dennis and I watching Expanse with the dogs. It's been a long time watching. Before we did that, we moved the couch back in. The dogs are delighted.

I keep combing dogs but it's a joke with the rain. Tomorrow is a new day. LOL

The pool heater/gas people saga continues. I really should have a drink.

I am Late

Thank you to Jersey's family for such a treat that arrived today. It is almost gone.

It was a very hot day and I couldn't swim as the gas people were here. This after waiting an entire month to fix it. Maybe I should be glad with the delay? Three of them showed up and it was a bad day. One good cop, 2 bad cop, if you know what I mean. I groomed with cold water as they had the gas off. They say the new heater is too big for the gas lines we have so we have 8 infractions that must be fixed in 42 days or we have no pool. Listening to the supervisor, he didn't care. We can't afford to dig up our gas line so we are going to have to contact our pool heater guy as they told us he should have known this. So faced with this - yet another smaller heater or an entire gas line and 42 days really? When we have bad news well it is a doozie. To tell you how nasty this was he even said the 2 water heaters that Enbridge installed was missing a sign saying water heater #1 and water heater #2. Hmm isn't that on them as it is their water heaters? I will make a vinyl sign and put it on each. Yes, I am serious. Then the flue is too close to the side. The gas has to be builtup and supported. On and on. So really bad day. Can't afford this even remotely. I want to cry. Has anyone had any idea how to deal with this?

Good news visitors have been amazing but do want the air conditioner. Tomorrow brings cool.

I think I need a stiff drink but so many great updates from puppy people. Thank you!!!

Hot Changes

As you can see the xpen was coming down and the dogs relish the extra space. Me too but still miss them. This is Ellie in the background. She comes once a week and this is Raven's Coco who is here for a few days and is literally having a blast. You will see photos of Coco in the gallery and videos on the Spirit blog. Coco really enjoys Rebel. They have been playing for hours.

When Coco gets picked up, she jumps in her sherpa bag ready to travel when she knows she is getting picked up. All those that use them do the same. Tenshi even does a circling onside the bag. It's a riot.

The pavers around the pool had to be hosed down as it was that hot.

Bonnie comes for the day. Her mom has a hair appointment. Wow how nice. If she goes to Costco, will have to give her $$ for pistachios.

It is so wonderful to start seeing people and having dog visitors. I read an article that said it is highly doubtful we will have a lockdown again as so many are getting vaccinated. We have started getting bookings for winter break and I went wow the fun is coming back. There is hope....

Not sure what to do without pups but maybe I really should start organizing this desk. LOL

Chilling

Jeannie is chilling out in the crate. Our crates do not have doors so they can go in and out and snooze when they want to. Sometimes another dog actually joins them in the same crate.

We had 2 pups depart. Brewer, Buddy, Tucker, Benjamin and Tia departed.

Now that the last one is departing tomorrow, Dennis had the audacity to make a list of all the things I need to do. I am so laughing. Want to know what is on the list? Take down xpens. Move couches back. Organize my desk. Clean bathrooms. Weed and I mean weed. Transplant 2 plants. Organize the garage. Wash the windows. Put all the puppy blankets away. Organize my grooming room. This he says is half the list and didn't want to give me the full list or I may not start. If I didn't love him. Nathan is shutting his mouth. Wise. I said then start on it as I have a class on Wednesday.

I have an eat on a patio with Sherry on Thursday for the 1st time in 16 months - oh longer as you do not eat on a patio in March. LOL

I think I need to stay busy to ignore that we do not have pups after tomorrow though its not busy with chores. Dennis said he will take the xpen down tonight. So it begins. Once the couches are back here we will have TV room with the dogs and hubby again. You see when we have pups, Nathan watches TV with the dogs and I rarely watch any as I am too busy. Now is when I find out what he watched without me. I am so laughing.

Ellie comes for the day tomorrow and Coco - not the Coco from the present litter arrives for 4 days. We are excited!

Cloudy Day

We are hoping that after the pups have departed that the weather is warm and we can have a havanese swim fun day of our dogs and the visitors. Let's see what mother nature brings.

No one went swimming today except Sage and she deserved it after the pups departed.

They had a fun chase the squirrel session. No, I don't encourage it but all it takes is 1 and off they go. Brewer always takes a short cut to get in the front and Harlow play bows with it as if she wants the squirrel to play with her. It is a riot.

It has been a day - and a good one!

Rain, Cool Then Heat

Bailey is over for the day till tonight for a freshen up and play date. She had a blast with the younger set and the older set. When she was out of the xpen, she had a grean time teasing the younger crew. She so enjoyed herself.

As we have pups going home and grooming - well life is in siesta mode on the blogs. Hope you do not mind. I will have no excuse when this is the only blog I am updating. :-)

Long Day But Soon Bed

It's been a long day. I had 7 dogs to groom and 2 pups. As soon as I am done this blog I will be cleaning up water dishes and prepping for tomottow then crawling into bed.

Tenshi was caught kissing them between the xpen. It's such a riot how these pups get the others to engage.

Archie, Buddy and Ticker arrive and Bailey comes for a play day. It's going to be a busy day. The dogs will have lots of fun!

Tomorrow is Canada's day and Nathan's brother Earl's birthday.

Visit and Rain and Mugginess

This is Leti's human mom. Leti is in her right hand and Spirit's baby is in their left. It was good to see Leti and her family. Thank you for the truffles and wine - yum!

It rained and thundered today even during this visit but we made the most of it and then I am blogging.

It was great to hear Let's human mom had her last cancer treatment. Bravo. Such a long journey with Leti by your side. I am ever so glad she was there to give you comfort.

Short blog tonight for a variety of reasons.

Daisy and Marci depart tomorrow. The 1st 2 pups to depart on Thursday get baths tomorrow. I also have many to groom. It will be a busy week but a very fun one for 7 families.

Let the Heat Begin Ouch

Hahahaha I am in the air conditioning. Havanese are so smart. It was so hot that I had to repeatedly water down the deck and pavers around the pool. They were lifting their paws and that is the 1st indication that it is too hot to walk.

As we had the pups outside this afternoon, I took Sage and Spirit into the pool and left them soaken wet. No towels.

Ellie had a blast with the pups. I thought initially she wanted to come out but no she wanted to play. Willow didn't want to swim but she so wante to play indoors  as you can see. Big smiles...

It was so hot that they all preferred the air conditioning. I am thankful ours is working and no more freon leak where the 1st hot day it would ice over and die. That hapened for a few years in a row so we held our breath that last year's repair worked and it has so far... Pups are happy in the cool too. For me it's the pool or indoors. Tomorrow hot again... Maybe good as I will get a quick dip in but I have so much to get done.

Sorry we are shortening all blogs as we had a busy day with 2 visits, grooming so dogs can go home plus Nathan's computer was not working and he was cringing as he had puppy selections coming in and no way to access them. He now has access and if you can believe we are still missing one. We can't finish without it. So please...
