Oh the Fine Play

Harlow knows how to have fun. What a riot she was today!

Here is today's gallery.

The dogs played their hearts out but oh my it was cold. Even they thought playing inside was better.

Sherry bought me a desk for the holidays to give me space back on my desk. So appreciated TRULY but Dennis thought it took up too much room for his VR so I mostly assembled and Nathan helped at the end. I am rolling my eyes with Dennis' reaction. So that means I am late for blogs.

Just know the dogs had fun and I found the Ikea assembly not so bad. You never know with Ikea. Thank you, Sherry!

Now on to finish blogs.

Eat and Play

Long day and well long day.

Here is the gallery.

I had a terrible day but here I am blogging and well it's a gin and tonic night. LOL

We had a lot of visitors here but I didn't really get much time with them unless they were in my sink or on my grooming table. I didn't even get any time with the pups so whatever we got is what we got via Nathan or Dennis. I am not sure I have much but nothing left in me to take photos and videos next play session.

Above is Nava who is a sweetheart. You will also see others that were here having a great time. Rusty also came to see his sister so he can get comfie before he goes home. He will come an additional time before departure.

If I am not making sense tonight, ignore this blog. You will see in the gallery the dogs did have a ton of fun.

I think it was cold but I didn't go out to find out. Ate while grooming. Think I have hair in my lungs. LOL

Frigid

What a frigid day it is. The dogs love it though. See the gallery.

We had a visit from our son and daughter-in-law to be. He is going in for leg surgery. The ski accident last year really didn't heal. They said there is still a fracture despite a cast and a boot so this time they have to surgically correct. So, he has to be in quarantine and gets his covid test tomorrow. We met them outside. We exchanged gifts and they stood 12-15 feet away. LOL It's rather sad. been so long since we hugged them.

No one wants Nathan sick though. He does something and he rests more so than even a couple of weeks ago. He is frustrated. This too shall pass.

Pups start going home in 1 week. I am far from ready intellectually or physically but we will get there.

Zoey and Abby ADORE Dennis. Oh they like us too but it must be his gentle nature. They just gravitate to him. He loves the dogs so. When the pen comes down, Dennis is asking us to not put the couch back as he wants room for his VR play. Good for him. He works so hard that he deserves fun. His brother is sending him a steam gift card so he will be able to play to his hearts content. All our google devices has died. We are now all apple. Not sure what happened to android tablets. Sad state of affairs. LOL

I am nagging Nathan about doing the grooming video. I think I have a dog or two with knots. I have been trying. LOL I do teh work and he videos it. Watch out as videoing around here can be interesting.

Tenshi and Harlow has arrived. Let the fun begin!

Happy Place

It was a happy place today but a highly busy one for me. I still have 2 dogs to do - yes so blogs are short.

Henley departed. New home and too far that we will not see her. :-( We wish them great joy in their new home. She had a blast. Marlee dropped in and he is a happy happy boy jumping all over and pouncing, Wow nice.

Zoey and Abby also arrived and Zoey was right in the thick of things - Abby was playing. Such fun.

Me, I was grooming many dogs that just dropped in for a groom. One was Stone's brother.

Got to keep this short.

Here is the gallery.

Dennis took all the photos. I took some of the pups. Can I nap?

Short Blogs Tonight

Short blog tonight all across the board. I need to as this weekend is very busy grooming wise.

Here is the gallery.

It is slushy out there today. Dogs are not crazy about it as they get so wet. Me - well I do not like it either.

Hope you have a dry day.

The dogs despite the wet had fun!

Long Day

Doesn't Sky have such a wonderful look? I think so. She is so cute to me. Such a loving being too.

Here is the gallery.

We had a lot of fun play this morning. Then we had the surgeon. Nathan has 5 arteries with 70% blockage. We could get a surgeon real soon or we could wait for this guy and get a date of January 22nd. We opted for this guy as Nathan's cardiologist said if he needed surgery this was the guy he would trust. So we wait. This was a no nonsense guy. If you opt to not get surgery you have a 10% chance of living for 5 years. After surgery you will wish you didn't have it for a couple of weeks and then you will improve and be glad. It is painful. There is no rehab due to covid. Yes you need nitroglicerine on hand and take a baby aspirin daily. Is there anything I can do to help between now and our surgery date? His response - that plane has already flown. There was more but what a blunt guy - they were right no bedside matter. But...the good part....

Nathan gets to be here for the pups departing. It sounds silly but - well it is important to him. To me too as he has never missed it. Plus 2020 will be over and 2021 will be better - it best be. LOL By March - still cold he will be better and then spring. Then summer and we have to buy an expensive heater but he can swim every day as I did this past summer. So good news...

Nathan is in the room where I do the blogs watching the Good Doctor with me. A guy has a tumour around his heart and he can now watch it and say - not me. As crazy as it all sounds we have a plan now so we feel much better.

Dogs are sitting all over him in the recliner and he is smiling. I like that and so do the dogs!!! We are going to miss Henley when she departs. Hope their move is going well. Henley has had an amazing time here.

Now that we have a plan, many dogs are coming all weekend for grooming. It's good to have dogs coming to mix things up!

Play and Play

Here is the gallery.

The dogs had a great time. I thought I was goiung to have alll blogs done by 5pm but my computer keeps getting the blue screen of death.

Sherry brought an excellent lunch. I will indeed have a gin and tonic.

Didn't do anything we wanted to accomplish but hey it is what it is. Nathan with his short legs - well it is difficult getting pj bottoms. We found one pant so tomorrow we have the consult so we will know then if we have time to find more.

The dogs look a mess today and well it is what it is.

I so wanted to learn today but my mind won't let me. maybe tv after blogs.

Snowy December 1st

It was a snowy day. It wasn't terribly snowy but enough to add an element of fun for the dogs including the pups.

Here is the gallery.

I had cancellations due to snow but those cancelled quickly were replaced. I groomed most of the day.

Harlow departs tonight and thinks she should have already departed as her bath and groom was concluded. She is so happy to come, so happy to see her human dad. What a great life she has.

Dogs ran and got soaked and just plain had fun. It's special to see them that way.

Our floors got soaked and we were toweling up everywhere but well worth it when they have fun, I say.

Tomorrow no groom. Sherry is bringing lobster rolls - yum. She is incredibly sweet. Then Thursday is a busy one. Hope all of you are managing to have some quality down time.

Wet Day

Almost didn't have photos again but I am combing out due to this fine wet weather. It has truly been a wet day and the dogs take advantage of it gettng as messy as ever. It also means cleaning blankets as I heat them up, they come in and put mud all over them. Yes, I am laughing. They say snow tomorrow - maybe not here. We shall see.

Here is the gallery.

I have a ton of dogs to groom tomorrow. Wednesday is the anniversary so I will not groom and try to find pjs for Nathan. His never came. The ones he wears are not suitable for the hospital and they said he needs 2 or 3. Issue is he is a short legged guy so pjs are not easy to find. Short legged guys - tell me where. His cardiologist thinks it will be sooner than later.

The hardest thing about this is for 6 to 8 weeks no dogs on him. He so loves the dogs as do I. Sure the chest will hurt terribly. Getting in and out of bed won't be fun. The dogs will not understand. One day at a time and I get to do food shopping again.

Harlow departs tomorrow and she will be missed. Henley's parents are moving so she is having the time of her life here. It is how it should be. Who likes moving. I think everyone should have a magic wand to make it all move and get placed where it should be in minutes but then Henley would miss the fun.

It's a Day

Sorry - tomorrow I promise a gallery. It's just been long days. Kally has departed. She had a blast with the pups. Harlow loves them too.

I can't believe Nathan and I will be celebrating another anniversary on Wednesday- don't ask how many - it is many. LOL We have no idea how to celebrate it. We do have the impending surgeon visit on Thursday. We also have a vet visit. A friend and the Havanese Fanciers Club that we belong to sent beautiful orchids and a HUGE flower arrangement. Well wishes that he sails through this. It was nice.

Staying busy has been a great deal for us, at the moment but it is also good to be so busy that then there is bed. LOL

We have the last 2 visits tomorrow which includes 1 on ones with Rusty to see what puppy works for him. Then the work of assigning and getting ready for pups to depart begins. Nathan will be doing the chart and consulting with me and I will be extremely busy grooming. Soon dogs will be in heat - oh boy and we will start again. But till then lots of rehab for Nathan. He best ace this. He has orders I depart from this world first. Maybe some learning for me during this time. Nathan reviving his havanese magazine. We shall see. I keep hoping for the learning.

Not Sure

Not sure how much of an update I will do today but look for it later, if I can muster it.

Henley has arrived and is already napping after wild play with Hallie and Harlow. LOL

Dennis has Kally playing with the pups. We will try to do better tomorrow and get a gallery up.

Still got blogs, laundry, puppy play and well email time and all that sort of stuff and besides I wan to play with the dogs.

Kally is visiting and she has a few videos of her with mom and pups. See them here. I was washing pups and clicking photos. Dennis was playing with teh dogs and holding pups for me to click. Sound busy? It was and that is why hardly any photos were clicked. We will try to be better tomorro. :-)

Here are a few photos.

Out and Muck Around

Yes, Bailey so wanted to get wet and yicky. LOL

Here is the gallery.

Thank you to Bailey's mom for the cookies. I am having a tough time doing the blogs today though trying.

Bailey, Brewer,  Herschel and George departed. I washed all the moms. I did a fair bit of a number of dogs today. Dogs had fun. I need to eat and finish blogs. No tv time tonight. hmmm

Posts Short: Just Home

Will update you with anything Dennis got in photos but Nathan's angioplasty could not go ahead as he has 5 significant blockages. He is already referred to another surgeon who does multiple bypass surgery. We were not expecting this.

On another note here is the gallery. It's short but we will play catchup tomorrow.

November Tuesday

This is Leo and Willow - the Willow that doesn't live here. LOL They were playing like crazy. Willow is now home and Leo will depart soon. He's going to be exhausted as he played and played and played! He had a bath and trim.

Here is the gallery.

We have short blogs tonight and maybe even shorter ones tomorrow. We will do the best that we can.

Herschel steals my chair each time I get out. It puts him closer to the food. LOL George expects to get if Herschel finds some crumbs. They have bonded nicely.

Harlow decided she wanted the tv room, blankets and all the comforts it brings so she spread out all over as if to say - it's all mine - don't you know. It was funny!

Tomorrow we drop Nathan off and visit Ali. Thanks to all having covid tests, it is doable. I will wait to see if he is an overnighter before hearding home. can't even shop as Peel is on lockdown.

Dry Inside Wet Outside

As you will see in the gallery, it was a wet one outside. The dogs kept getting snow ball. It doesn't matter what length their hair is, when the snow is wet vs powdery, it adheres and creates snowballs. I have seen dogs with hair 1.5 inches long become a snowball mess in this type of snow. The only thing to protect them is 4 legged snowsuits. Is it worth it? It is up to you. I find wet heavy snow is not the usual so we never put coats on.

The dogs had a lot of fun outside and in. Some chose to stay indoors for the most part. Can you blame them? even I wanted to stay indoors. LOL

You can see more of Ellie and Rosey had fun with the pups and you will see it in their gallery as well as in the videos.

Wet and Soaked

I combed out all the dogs as I usually do daily - when I find the time. Well, you can't tell. They have been out a lot and they are SOAKED. The snow is sitting at just at freezing so it is wet and wet and wet!

Here is the gallery of the dogs before it got bad.

They are much worse now. This is a heat up blanket day so they can snuggle and feel warm day. brrr

But boy oh boy do the dogs love the play! me the combouts - well not so much but we do what we need to.

Now Really

Hallie says really snow coming tomorrow - up to 5cm and slippery? It is markedly colder today than yesterday.

Here is the gallery.

We had a few play sessions outside. The dogs really love the cold. Me - NO - white stuff till next year.

Nathan and I headed to Peel region to get the covid tests before allowed to do his procedure on Wednesday. So far it is still on. It was a drive by set up in the hospital parking lot and took oh but 10 min including the time in line in our car. It took 30 min to get there and 30 min back. At least now I know where we go on Wednesday. We stopped at Hillcrest mall to get a pickup of Swiss Chalet and the parking lot was PACKED. Luckily Swiss Chalet is at the far end of the mall outside and they protect their spaces for pickup. All the while on 680news they kept saying due to the lockdown in Toronto and Peel coming tomorrow night they were interviewing all the people Christmas shopping. Really? I bet to all these announcements tomorrow will be busier. So who is to blame for crowds like the usual just before Christmas day experience? Media or just plain panic?

Dogs are settling in to blankets I warm up and place around the tv room. Sure the house is warm but they love it when I warm things up for them. It's a moment and it makes me smile!

Ms Meadow was here and just departed. She played her heart out. Herschel serenaded Meadow's mom when she came for pickup. LOL

Happy 8th

Nora is celebrating her 8th birthday with lots of attention and a big walk. She even had a zoom call with our daughter from university. Shady is a bit jealous of the extra attention Nora is getting but it will be his turn soon :). Happy birthday to her siblings

Brewer is visiting us. It's an old photo but a wonderful one as he is celebrating life. He gets a goodies bag to go home with today!

Lori said about Ms. Pepper: I took the day off to spend with her (but then got pulled into a few meetings). I am done now and she will be loved, pampered, and treated for the rest of the day.  I’m sure she will get a special visit from Nonna and Nonno tonight as well.
