Long Day

Started at 745am and finished at 8pm - 7 dogs. As this is Dennis day off, I have to start cleaning the pen, doing dishes, making tomorrow's coffee, changing out the pads and i will drag my ahem into bed and crash. It's been a very long day, Nathan only took a few photos so no gallery today.

We had a fun bunch. As Nathan had a dr visit - 1st set of tests is good other than high sugar - heart next week - well I had all the dogs to myself and I was also grooming so they were all with me. It was an interesting day but now I need to get busy so I can go snuggle with the dogs in bed.

Exhausted is an understatement.

Dogs are all good!

Ragamuffins

Take a day off and look at the mess they get in.

Here is the gallery.

Zoe, Abby, Coco, Tenshi and Brewer dropped in. Brewer and Coco will depart soon. They are really a tight knit group today really enjoying each others company.

Tomorrow is an insane day for me. Kally gets a bath to depart on Saturday and I have a lot of grooming to do. It is also Dennis' day off. I thought of doing something unusual today but instead it didn't happen. Still have a few hours but did eat lunch outdoors and the weather was absolutely wonderful.

I am TIRED of things breaking. Soon there will be nothing left. We did manage to get all the plants in that won't be allowed to die. Progress till life gets extra busy again.

Maybe tv time with dogs is in store and welcomed!

Ollie TV and More

Chester is homeward bound tonight. Murphy departed earlier.

It was a very warm day - in the 80s - wow = 7os the rest of the week. Dogs love it. I wish I was swimming. Oh well. Can't have everything.

Here is the small gallery.

Ollie was at our house the day before this video was taken and was home sleeping when they video taped it. Here is the  video and he was so excited to watch himself and Nami play. Hope it makes you smile!

Lean Blog

Two pups departed. Another had a bath. We had comb outs and the gardeners were back to do clean up so our yard was only accessible to the dogs between times. So no gallery but the dogs still had fun. No gardeners tomorrow so we will go back to our usual photos. LOL

Dennis is freaking out in a big way as our trees and garden is rather sparse and cut back but it was needed so we can start anew. Even our Japanese maple was trimmed back and I cringed about that but I embrace the start anew so it can get overgrown again theme. Every now and then you have to do a hari kari on some of it. LOL

It was a warm day. Even when I comb out the dogs, 10 min later or less they look like I didn't touch them but that also means they are playing. I think I would rather the play than just laying around.

Another pup departs tomorrow.

What a Day

We had such a grand amount of fun today but a very busy one. I had a lot of grooming and we are bringing the last of the plants in so that means reorganizing things, moving a couch out and all sorts of fun things. That is why I am blogging now and I still have a ton to do after this blog.

Here is the gallery.

Amy and Brewer dropped in. Murphy and Chester is here. Harlow departed - always missed. Ellie, Winston and Nami played like crazy as you will see in the gallery here and on the Raven blog. They also got into a warranty card - oh boy and shredded it. Hope I do not need it.

It's a long day but just know we had a ton of fun depsite how busy.

Nathan is on a new med and getting queasy from it so he missed class tonight. Hoping he feels better tomorrow as we have pups departing.

Got to go finish everything else. We still have a few hours of work. That means an after midnight experience.

Beautiful Day

When will we close the pool? Certainly after the pups depart. It's just too busy and we have not had a date selected for us from this new company. The dogs love the swimming and then they love the Fall when we have more running space. It's a safety cover that you can walk on.

Here is today's gallery.

We have had a lot of play from morning till night. A few videos were taken and Harlow was in the thick of it. Chester remains loving to the pups and loves his crazy play. Well, Murphy likes catching the sun rays and napping. She takes after Nathan. Ms Coco departed and we always love to see her. We take care of her as she is one of the senior gals indulging her. She likes to eat standing on the chair. It's funny. They each have their own loves and desires. That is what makes the havanese so special.

Found a good local shwarma place that I like. After Rifkas went, I was afraid one would be hard to find. Different than Rifkahs but delish none the less.

Nathan has part 1 of his complete physical tomorrow - blood, urine etc. Wed Cardio. I can't go with him as I have grooming and puppies baths before departure etc. It's a hectic week but many families will be happy with their new addition. The pups are truly outstanding!

Crawling Into Bed

As this is Nathan's day off, I do double duty. I am sitting here at 7pm and wishing I was in bed but the dogs are full of energy and I suspect it is due to this really cold weather. We have all the plants in but 1 and I am not sure but I think tomorrow Dennis will attempt to do it himself.

Here is the gallery.

The dogs ran and ran and ran. Brewer was here and loving it and Coco plays a little but now that she is older, she likes to cuddle and watch tv. Chester and Harlow play like the crazy dogs they are and Chester likes pups. Sometimes they don't when they get a tad older as they have no patience but sometimes they appreciate the young things. Murphy says to Nathan - let's go upstairs and chill. LOL She is a smart one.

Another short blog. Heat is now on so we don't have to wear coats in the house. That Nathan... I guess we aren't going to have the door and windows open now. Though they say the exchange of air all winter long is good but what 10 minutes of cold rushing through? Hmm and kaching kaching that meter will run. LOL The dogs may like it though. I may have to buy a super sized heating blanket and wrap it around the dogs and I. I think nathan must be in man-o-pause. Yes, I am laughing.

A Day

Here is the gallery.

Short blog tonight. In the last few days we have had the neighbour of fun, dump runs, a son that came over at a distance for his birthday outside - jammed printer over a project I wanted to do for the pups departing. Sizzling garage door opener - needs replacing. Plus there is a ton to get ready for the pups departing.

So, we are busy. I have a cheap printer to set up, things to print out and plants to move in. So... know that all the dogs are having fun. Us, not so much with other things but we are enjoying the dogs!

Rosey, Nami's sister was over and it was great to see them together. Rosey is cut shorter and Nami is a bit taller and fatter. LOL

We also had Kora over - a Spicy baby and it was great to see her. We got a ton of kisses and they are the best!

Here is the gallery.

There will be 2 updates today!

Hacked Away and That Smell

Well our backyard is almost complete. Tomorrow they fix the eavestroughs. Gone are a lot of my vines that will come back in a couple of years but hey everyone needs to do this every 20 years. LOL It doesn't look as pretty as overgrown but you must cut back for the health of the plant every now and then but 20 years is pushing it. Dennis said but mom I loved the overgrown look. Me too but they did a good job and explained and left it to us why this or that should be cut back. We also couldn't top our cedars as we have a neighbour who thinks we should cut the cedars on his side up to the trunk and we should pay for it. He also thinks they need to be topped off to the fence line. That will certainly kill them. They want to look into our yard and have told us that. We rather like our privacy. Our nice neighbour on the other side also likes them nice and tall and thick. Lovely to have a neighbour that wants you not to have privacy so they can watch you and wants to kill your cedars that you have had over 20 years. He screamed at our gardeners and they were polite but said no can't do that - so he is busy trying to find someone that will.

Enough with pain in the ahem neighbours and seriously we have tried.

Here is the gallery.

Now on to the smell. I did end up grooming everyone but you see some still not combed out. But I feel good that by 630 - started ay 8 that they were all done. I am tired. It is Dennis' day off so I do his jobs and mine.

Other than our pool side needing a good scrubbing (water is too cold for your hand) the dogs smelt something in the pool. They were leaning over and sniffing the air literally. Nathan looks in and lo and behold a dead mouse and they could smell it through the water. Oh my! I am not afraid of mice unless they jump out of your drawer but I hate to see dead anything. That was fun and the dogs were fascinated.

Dogs are not happy with us destroying their playground. They like to play hide and seek and not much to hide in. They looked miffed but new growth next year dawgies!

Jon's bday (our son that moved out) was today and I am told his girlfriend (they live together) was taking him to the Keg and eating out on the patio. Glad it was warm today. He comes by tomorrow. He is slowly moving things out of the basement. Us, we are going to do our garage - when things die they get placed in the garage. Well, it is time to get rid of it.

Fun but busy day and I also have to get ready for the pups departing. Why is it that when you are supposed to have down time it never works that way?

Dogs are doing tv time with Nathan.

Me, I have 1 more blog and well clean up before bed begins. Hopefully Nathan will tucker the pups out and put them upstairs. Bed is calling. LOL

My Day Off

This was my day off and Nathan only combed Stone. So I get to play catchup tomorrow. The price we pay for a day off. After this blog, I am going to watch a video on contouring. My idea of a day off. I need to learn.

Here is the gallery.

Between pups departing and coming, we have to do our garage. That means dump runs and sweeping and organizing so we are ready for winter and possibly parking inside a garage. Each year we say this and never park in the garage making extra work so this is the year - why not. Instead of down time we have chores to do. LOL

According to Dennis the dogs enjoyed not getting combed out. I bet they did. I am not sure when the pool gets closed but the dogs truly enjoy the extra running space. I suppose soon. It is really not swimming weather and the heater doesn't work. I bet my friend Christine is swimming still.

Dogs had runs in and out. They napped and I got snuggles. Life is good! Oh and Harlow thinks teh pups are gremlins except for Nami.

Monday Monday

This is Monday. Parker and Ms. Murphy departed. Nathan has class with Nami.We miss the guys departing but so happy they get their family time.

Ellie comes weekly and plays her heart out with Nami and the rest too but she so loves Nami.

We have the eaves troughs - gardener guys here so this is a no photo day. Apologies.

I brushed up Harlow and I placed her down and went oh forgot her treat. She got one. The rest did not as I treat for times like grooming or a reward otherwise they would think the treats are there for just existing. I want them to understand reward. Plus free feeding of treats make dogs fat and I need to clue into that myself. LOL I am so much better with the dogs than myself.

Dogs had runs in the hallways. Some even managed to take flying leaps on to the bed. It is a game of excitement and I do not take photos or videos as I am participating. It's my time with them or Dennis' time with them and I believe they appreciate the fun. Besides I do it strictly for them.

It's been a good day though we truly miss Parker and Murphy. We hope they are cuddling with mom and enjoying down time.

By the way who today was the leader in the pack in running? Brewer and Harlow. They leap ahead trying to gain an advantage and most times it works.

Morning Time

We roll out of bed at 7am and take the dogs downstairs and outside. Then Nathan goes up to get the puppies while I place 8 bowls of water down as I believe they always need access to water no matter where they are. That includes outdoors.

While I am doing this, the dogs are playing like crazy waiting for breakfast. I also expedite the puppy food as they have little tummies and need to eat.

Harlow and Parker barks to invite play. We try to practice no bark. Sometimes it works - well most times - sometimes not. Harlow barks for her food. Her dad says she is a picky eater. Here she eats as if she is starving. The beauty of lots of activity and it is good for them. I could learn a lot from the dogs.

After breakfast and yes they eat all at once without stealing, they go outside again. Nathan gets leaves out of the pool. Picks up on site and the dogs get fresh air - Nathan too. I eat my breakfast. Sounds unfair? I have grooming most of the day and starting at 8pm till 10 pm we clean and sterilize. I say we - it is Dennis and I. Dishes - all those waters I put out has to be clean, floors, etc. Laundry from the dog pen has to be done (2 loads before bed). Dennis plays with the pups. Nathan sits and watches tv with the dogs.

Inbetween all of that we head outside many times a day and if it is raining we play games in the house. Hugs are never optional - they are required. Not sure I could go without dog hugs.

We do about 6 loads of washing a day. We like clean beds for the dogs and we have the downstairs, upstairs pens and outdoors. Let's not forget about normal laundry. Towels also get washed due to grooming and we had swimming but that's gone.

It is a busy but really fun day. But every now and then I wish I had the luxury of reading a book, watching a movie, going out so as the pups get older we each take 1 day off a week. Mine is Tuesday and it is amazing how much you look forward to it. But blogs still have to be done.

Parker departs tomorrow. He will be missed. His human mom's mom is getting better now so tomorrow is the day. He has been with us 5.5 weeks. He has changed. He was always a player but a bit reserved. Now he is the guy who says welcome new one. He will miss the play but there is no place like home. He may sleep for 2 days but maybe human mom will need to lay down beside him and do that too. Till the next time.

Here is the gallery.

We had rain, sun and nice warmth. Hoping it stays.

Lazing Between

As you will see in our gallery, the trumpet vine has lifted and damaged the eaves troughs so we called a placed referred to us. Here the dogs are lazing outdoors between their work.

We cringe around here when things have to be repaired especially when someone says they are cheap. Well, it turns out they do hedges, garden cleanup etc. They gave us a quote dirt cheap (half what we paid in the past) to even out our hedges and they threw in the eaves trough repair minus parts of the eaves troughs for free. He even shaped my Japanese maple. Then they surprised us with weeding our walkway for FREE. They are back tomorrow between puppy visits to top off the hedge and repair the eaves trough. He won't know the parts till he gets up there and as we have a walkout, they need an extra tall ladder. But we are mighty impressed and would refer them to anyone in a heartbeat.

Well, other than the dogs only being able to go out during their breaks and of course after they go home, we had running sessions indoors and the dogs managed to have great fun. They also enjoyed lazing outdoors. It was Nathan's day off.

Our pool heater is truly dead and Sunday is supposed to be 30c but it will have to wait till April to be repaired. Oh well. Gives us time to save up and maybe get an early spring deal. We won't talk about the dentist and we worry about little boarding due to covid but the dogs lighten your soul and water will no longer pour on our windows from the eaves troughs.

They will be pulling down the trumpet vines but they will grow again and we will have to cut them back when they start heading to where they create damage. You can't get rid of trumpet vines but we won't have flowers next year - oh well. I will miss the lovely trumpets this fall and next year but a small price to pay, I say. The work they did today was really wonderful. I wish I could afford them doing the entire garden but maybe next spring, covid will be over. People will be travelling and we will be boarding so these things can be considered. Here is hoping.

Dusty arrived today and so did Harlow. We so appreciate the visitors. Here's to the weekend, puppy visitors, lovely families getting time with their puppies, dog visits and all that it brings. Time to snuggle with the dogs.

A Day Of Course

We didn't have a vet visit so I am grooming very late today with the last dog coming at 4pm. He is coming tomorrow so I am juggling that day too. LOL

But its a cool day. We took everything outside and tested the outdoor heater and then took it all back inside. Tomorrow we get to do it again. Test runs are productive - aren't they?

Above is Willow out of Raven. The Willow that lives with us is out of Jeannie. Did I confuse you?

Magic is coming to get spruced up for her birthday tomorrow. I will get some after bath photos so I can post her birthday.

Here is a mini gallery.

The dogs - well they have been playing.

Not Much Today

Very few photos today as it is my day off.

Here is the gallery.

Murphy has departed. Parker is running his body into deep fun. Above is mom and daughter together. Aren't moms the best?

I think it is time to shut off the air. I feel cold in my own home and well Nathan is into deep freeze this year - lucky me. The dogs will love it as long as they have blankets. I may need a coat inside. LOL

More tomorrow.

Cold, Rainy and Well That's Okay

Very few photos today as I was mostly grooming all day and I mean all day. Nathan hardly took any and I took Charlie, Teddy and Ollie. It is Dennis day off. Sorry.... I usually can multi-task but sometimes I can't. I did get the pups as I eeked out a session with them and even got some slo mo videos. Should have taken them of the adults but no time and still have 1 more dog to do.

Here is the gallery.

Everyone is late today due to the traffic coming back from cottages. We don't dare let out anyone that was just groomed. It's about to rain again. If the pool heater has to die, at least its now cool. LOL

Everyone has been playing in a huge way - indoors, outdoors. Though they looked at the rain and went - no, I do not think so especially Murphy. I just love that dog. I would have said no too.

Till tomorrow!
