Run and Have Fun

The rain came. It got cooler and when it stopped, they had a blast!

Here is the gallery.

I also had a wonderful visit with Ronnie who was coming to swim and then the rain came. That's okay as that means I have another chance to get her here. She is so great with the dogs.

Thank you, Ronnie for the coffee, donuts, laffa bread. Oh my gad is laffa bread amazing!

I did manage to brush everyone out early so I had time for a visit and then Nathan told me he brushed a few himself. I laughed as they were having a grand time making themselves a mess.

I thought about weeding but weeding in the rain as easy as that would be may get me sopping wet. LOL Where is my adventure and besides dogs in rain would mean lot more work. I am so trying to get downtime before pups.

The dogs enjoyed visits today with people. Nathan did training. Now he is snoozing and I am typing.

Maybe it is tv time?

Hot But Fun

We are supposed to get rain tonight and possibly tomorrow. We shall see what it brings. We have Rusty and his Momma coming tomorrow and if it pours, perhaps we will have to do Sunday. The idea is to swim!

Reggie is here for another week as he is getting a new human baby. Now is that fun or not? It hasn't arrived yet so we can't tell you if it is a brother or a sister. I think he needs a bath. LOL Maybe pool time?

Here is the gallery.

Harlow finally decided to play with Nami. She was persistent so Harlow said - well why not.

We also have Benji visiting. He is playing with EVERYONE including Reggie and Nami.

Tucker was also here for a groom and play. Despite the heat, we had a great time.

The rescue gal likes the heat. Under the gazebo she lies with me for a bit. She's a great dog!

Leti is at our son and his girlfriends place. I am missing her already.

Heated Day

This is Georgie, a rescue that is 12 that I just picked up. She adapted to the household immediately. She had a bath on arrival and ate her dinner well. The dogs - no problem.... Her mother has dementia. Daughter ended up in hospital so she came into the HFC. She actually is quite lovely! She was in our foster care. Had some teeth removed but still able to eat kibble, no issue. She had a wellness check before teeth surgery and she is healthy. We will be looking for a forever home for her but for now she will be living the life here.

They say we are sitting at a feel like 108f, which is mighty hot. even the pool doesn't feel refreshing. So, I am inside early blogging.

Dogs go out many, many times a day but just for short timeframes. We have now broken the 1953 reacord for the most consistent heat wave. LOL They say to get used to it as we will have more days like this. I feel real bad for people without air. I would be throwing my clothes in the freezer and wearing them cold.

No swimming for the dogs today. We are hoping tomorrow. We shall see. I hope everyone is managing to stay cool.

What a Day

Bailey and Nava was here for grooming and a play day. They also had a swim as you will see in the gallery and both are strong swimmers.

Tomorrow we have Raven's s and I hope they can figure out how to send us the xray this time. We pick up Murphy from the vets office. No one is allowed inside.

Then we head to Tillsonburg to get the rescue.

Nathan is in class tonight at whos walking who. Rules have changed. Only 5 people. Wait in your car. Stay in the box you are assigned to. No extra people - only the one training. Sanitize before you enter and they will take each person to the station. You must wear a mask. This is for Tempie as Hallie and Tempie's class was interrupted with Covid. Ms No Name will start class on July 30th Puppy Class. New world with changes.

Ronnie comes over this weekend for grooming Rusty so I hope she can come to swim too.

I washed Raven so have a wet belly shot of her that I will be posting. She looks better dry but Nathan is at class so he can't click. I will do one for tomorrow.

The dogs do go outside but once it gets very hot, we do activities inside. I am thankful for ait. I can't imagine how people are dealing without.

Harlow went out today and went hmm I want the air people. Are you CRAZY thinking I would like this? I laughed as we had a puppy that went home like this. Most do not like the extreme heat and they say off and on it is here to stay through September. Good - I can swim - not good as the dogs need a break.

I wanter plants now at 930 at night. Strawberries are ripening over night. Plants are loving this heat. We missed the big storm that Toronto had. I heard it was horrid.

Playing and Changes

Here is the gallery.

Willow was here for swimming and a groom. Willow is a Raven pup. Raven gets her xrays Thursday. Today brought a change but won't speak about it yet. Thursday I need to pick up a 12 year old rescue in Tillsonburg. Our foster home can no longer take care of her due to medical issues with her dog that just whelped.

Charlie was here for grooming - think Charlie is 12 too.

It is actually way too hot from 10am till about now. It sucks the life out of you to have it this hot this consistent and the dogs are not pleased. We are cooling off decks to make it comfortable. I truly feel for those without air. You can come swim - you know.

I have so much weeding to do but you can't even when the sun goes down so here and there after Raven whelps, I suppose.

I went to Canadian Tire this morning and it was relatively empty. I had a hose sprayer that was leaking so much that I got soaked watering the plants, the dogs, anything in wide proximity. Dennis also had this experience. It was rather comical but a new one took care of it. Not as good as the old one but it doesn't leak! Many shelves were empty - especially the garden area. Strange...

The dogs are loving us making ice cubes. I seem to make it all day and they are ice cubes in an hour. I got this maker as a present years ago and now I have a use. usually we just make cubes in ice cube containers. This - you just pour water in, turn it on and it keeps popping them out. If we are ever able to have a party - well I can make enough ice. Maybe next year. Here is hoping!

Missing the pups. Still feel like I am playing recovery.

Dogs are enjoying wet towels that I throw in the freezer and they rub themselves all over it. Smart dogs!

Mucking It Up

Treasure was nibbling my ear and happy to see us. She looks like she really enjoys life as momma Kate takes her gardening and well she loves to muck it up in the garden. We feel happy to see her.

Here is the gallery.

We brought Stone and although it was a lot of shade at Ashbridges Estate, the heat you felt by the time it reached noon. We had a picnic.

It was great to see Kate and Treasure who is now called Twizzle. She answers to both.

We had a picnic (we stopped at Panera Bread) and truly appreciate the grounds. There was just 1 other person on the other side. Who knew that there was such an area to enjoy with your dogs in Leslieville.

I feel blessed to reconnect.

Thursday we go to the vets for Raven's xray. I need to finish setting up. I feel so lazy after 15 pups but still thinking of them....wondering about their adventure.

I have lot of grooming this week. I will start updating the blogs in a few days then i will hear fun adventures to share with you.

For now, its nice not doing so many blogs and galleries. I may crawl onto the couch, turn on the tv and snuggle with dogs in the air conditioning.

By the way, most people were wearing masks downtown.

Swim After Pups

The last pup departed and we had Helen and Suzie over for a swim. It was a nice distraction.

Here is the gallery.

Tomorrow we are going extra early to see the Treasured one. Today was cancelled due to the heat. This has been some heatwave.

We got the couch out, the ottomon back in this room, the blankets all away, the xpen reduced in size for Raven. She goes for xrays this week. I still have lots to do to get ready for Raven but we made a lot of headway. Laundry is non stop. I still have to comb out the dogs but may take a break till tomorrow when we get back. Dogs had fun in the pool. We did too.

Our friends that came over who own Hugo and Ali told us they have not been anywhere but banana republic was selling masks and they went in and it was as if they had not been shopping for a very long time. Sales were great and everyone wore masks. It is a strange world.e have not shopped other than groceries since this started.

The tv is on for the 1st time in eons for me - Nathan has watched tv all along. I am usually too busy to.

I am missing the pups - can you believe but so enjoying ice, the dogs, laying on the couch with them inbetween.

This is called a pause. LOL

Weeds, Grass and Dogs

Well, all the pups have departed but 1. She is mighty confused. It's hardest on the last couple of pups but she will depart tomorrow morning.

Instead of going to see the Treasured one, I will be doing the whelping pen, taking a swim, weeding and trying to get my couch out. Let's see if it happens. So much for a day off and yes grooming the motley crew here. I suppose Nathan will be resting. LOL

The dogs had a fun day. It was way too hot and will remain hot tomorrow. I am hopeful we will get them to swim, at least.

Really looking forward to dog snuggles tonight!

Off They Go

Stormy's last pup departed yesterday. Willows last will depart tomorrow and Leti's last on Sunday. Between individual 8 week visits and individual departures, we are tired. When you wake up at 7am and feel tired, a nap is calling. Okay - that's what Nathan says. I should say the pool is calling but when the last departs, we will be heading to Ashbridges Estates to see Treasure's mom.I am so excited to see them both! I will take photos. I have never been to Ashbridges Estate. I promised to bring lunch but I am not sure what is around there. Panera's Bread is closed in Richmond Hill. Kate really enjoyed that last time. Still exploring.

Then in 6 days Raven has xrays. Oh boy.

I am looking forward to taking dogs in the pool. We have a few visitors and our own to swim and click and relax. Maybe my outdoor couch will make it outside. I have been waiting and the guys have used there was NO room for it so what will the excuse be come Sunday night. This couch turns into a bed so I can laze outside with the dogs around me. They give me comfort. So - it's time. Stay tuned!

Oh and Sunday night gin and tonic is calling!

Short Update

We promise by Sunday night we will resume to our usual updates. Each day I wash 3 pups starting at 730am and then we have 3 pups departing. Sky wants to go in the pool but I say no as I would have to dry her so she could be inside in the air conditioning. I simply do not have the time. I just finished Harlow so she could depart.

Harlow departed. Reggies and Murphy boy is here. We hope to have time and weather to allow swim come Sunday or Monday. We shall see.

It's 915 and I am exhausted. I look forward to cuddling tonight and falling dead asleep. Tomorrow we do it again!

We Have Fun Too

Harlow departs tomorrow and so does Ty. I think I am punch drunk without having a drink. It really has been a lot of work. Three departing a day till Sunday when the last 1 departs.

How many blogs did I do tonight? I will miss the pups but not this schedule.

All the adults had fun today. Dennis ran around with them and they love it. He gets them having so much fun. He did this several times a day for short bits as it was too hot out today. A puppy would depart then he would be out running with them. Another departs and he does it again.

From young to old they sure do enjoy and that does my heart good!

No Update of Sorts

On Sunday, after pups have departed, we will go see the Treasured one. I miss this gal madly - think I miss all that remain and get placed later. It is always the most difficult decision. We have to consider what is best for her not us. Treasure got into a mode of telling everyone to not bark, to not do this or that and she wasn't like Risa who got her way without the others realizing it. Treasure needed to be an only dog and she is. But we miss her so yearly we go visit and enjoy how much she loves her human. Each year she follows me around and my heart sinks but then she goes back to her human. It is obvious she has great memories with me.

I really really like her human so it is a double fun time to see both. We are hopeful it will come together this Sunday when we too need a distraction after 15 departing.

Sorry about the lack of galleries or the emotion of missing. We so love our dogs - each and everyone that we have been blessed to experience.

Yawn and Play

Yawn, I guess she will now finish me so I can be picked up. Chloe is done in stages as she tends to want to play - not be groomed. LOL I can't blame her. I just finished her a few minutes ago. That mohawk had to go. Yes, I am laughing. She is so darn cute and as playful as she comes. She was playing with everyone but especially liked Harlow and Reggie.

Here is the gallery.

Everyone else is a disaster but that means combing before bed. What can one do when we have pups departing tomorrow and I am still not ready. That statement - it is what it is comes to mind.

It is supposed to be very hot all week. 15 visits between tomorrow and Sunday. I feel like it is the 8 week visit but so much joy with the humans and that is worth it.

Sunday afternoon after the last is picked up, we head downtown to see Treasure. We are so looking forward to it. Yes, that distance thing will be practiced but not with Treasure. I so miss her! It will do us good as we get mighty sad when they go and well as Dennis says, we are mighty conditioned in 10 weeks. My laundry and cleaning and all will change till Raven. See Raven's blog for the xray date.

Everyone had a lot of fun today. Only Ella and Sage decided to jump in the pool. The rest watched. Now they are outside laying all over Nathan.

Nathan and Dennis tell me I can have my outside couch back after the pups are gone. I think it should be before then. They said there is no room out there with 15 pups.

Nathan cut the grass today!

Just Hot and Fun

Here is the gallery.

I promise after this wild and crazy week, I will get back to my usual. I simply have way too much to do. I usually run on half empty but this is registering almost out of gas. LOL

Instead of blogging and doing galleries, our time is spent on doing all that needs to be done before the pups go home and making sure the adults enjoy and they are enjoying. As I bought treats for the puppy departures, I bought a bit of extra so the adults could enjoy too. Last night they had chicken jerky. Today they had denta-roo sticks to help them clean their teeth and enjoy a past time of chewing something they love.

I had so many plans and not enough - there I go again gas to get it done so maybe Raven's crew will catch me having time to be creative. I hope so.

My paths need a sword to hack the paths open again. I have not find the time to do it but I promise one path where you can walk down will be done. It's on me so maybe if I make headway on the stuff required for the 2 Tuesday departures, I can handle getting that machete out. We shall see. Tomatoes - heirlooms and the rest are growing crazy. Strawberries - thank you Dorothy - almost there to eat. I can't eat the stuff in the trug fast enough. Oh well silly things to complain about.

I am ever so thankful seeing visiting dogs again - thank you!

Now back to making progress. Dogs are out with Nathan watching him swim. No one has gone in yet. It is hot enough. They instead enjoy sitting in the shade watching and that is okay some days too. Besides, I am in here typing vs watching and clicking but Nathan keeps sitting on the stairs typing away to me on his phone. He best not sink the iphone. I think I will step outside and remind him of that before I get into this paperwork. LOL

Oh Boy

Thought I was going to have time to blog but in reality we have pups departing in 3 days and due to the lateness of getting the info - well no photos - no galleries. Sometimes you jst have to say - I do not have the time, But in the back of my head I say - well I never miss a day.

I am running my body non stop in all directions.I need 1 puppy departure date and I can continue down my path of going blind getting everything done. LOL

We do have Harlow, Benji, Daisy, Reggie and Lexi here. Lexi and Benji depart tonight. It's the biggest crowd we have had since covid began. Hope it continues. I truly miss everyone.

More tomorrow...

Visitors

Logan and Panda was over visiting and Panda came in with no top knot and badly chopped. I had to laugh so we straightened it out as much as we could and I said - you don't look like Panda anymore. I remember when Kat's top knot was chewed off by a visitor and it took 2 years to grow back. It is ONLY hair folks and it grows so nothing to fret about. They sure do love their Daddy. Now that is what matters.

Tomorrow I will try to get a gallery up of the last few days. With puppy stuff and trying to get ready for departures, I am have been remiss. Apologies.

Pingo At Home

Hello Nathan and Darlah!

Hope everything is going well with the new crew of pups! I wanted to send you some updated pictures I have taken of Pingo recently.

He brings us so much joy, I’m not sure I could even explain. He is def spoiled rotten and we would not have it any other way. We are so beyond blessed to have him in our lives.

Enjoy the pictures and feel free to post on the blog!
