Logan Fun

Logan has a new playmate and you will never believe who it is. It used to be Roxie and sure they still play but Terra and Logan have been playing up a storm and its a riot. I just love Terra and how gentle she is and I adore Logan who has brought out the pure fun in Terra. Thank you, Logan!

Moms and Daughters

I love it that Panda, Roxie and Abigail have such a great relationship. I can say the same for Spice and Wasabi.

This was Rox and Abigail playing up a storm.

We had a low key day. I washed Shoshi and Kat and I wait till Tuesday at Nathan's request to do the Jeannie. Everyone was brushed and come Tuesday after Jeannie is washed the crew is done till pups are washed to go home.

Hope you manage to get a night to chill.

Oh My

This was Roxie yesterday before her bath. Between Logan, Panda and now Jeannie, I give up on hair ties.

I find if you use those nice soft colourful ones they become a target so now I am going to use clear rubber bands.

I used a new shampoo called Pure Paws Forte and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Nathan brought a small bottle home from the specialty. I know Doug is getting it in.

Mom's hair gets dry, brittle and broken after pups and I did Fiona's hair yesterday and went WOW it feels moist, smooth and silky. I am impressed. I haven't been this impressed in a long time but I only have a small amount. I have to order more. It's Pure Paws latest shampoo and conditioner and it smells like coconut.

I still like the Oatmeal and Aloe for the pups but this stuff for the adults - well each dog I used it on I was impressed. They were snuggling soft.

Logan's Hair

Logan's not our dog. He belongs to a dear friend Lynda who also owns Panda. But after asking for pictures post bath, as you know I bathe Logan and Panda each Friday I decided to put a variety of photos of after bath hairdo up.

He is rather like Wasabi and Spice - he can't stand staying perfect so these are the best I can do as he LOVES to muck it up and to be honest, I prefer a dog that embraces life like he does.

Off to wash Panda and Roxie. :-)

Risa Needs a Brush

Had to capture Risa. She has soft silky hair that I washed the other day and this is what she looked like at 7am.

Risa is grandma and is getting older in years but she can still correct Jeannie and does just that.

Last night Jeannie thought she was taking Risa's spot. Risa told her no by climbing on the pillow and plowing her way on and Jeannie rolled off. That was a vast improvement from the night before. The night before Jeannie climbed on top of Risa and Risa shook her off and gave her a low growl.

Risa is not being a bully. She is telling the little whipper snapper that we all have our place and mine has been here for eons.

We will see how it goes tonight.

Jeannie seems to take it well actually. It just doesn't stop her from trying. She thinks she gets the top pillow in front of the fan. Risa is not planning to give it up anytime soon.

Need a New Gate

Oh boy looking at these photos we need a new gate. I guess dog's nails and scratching has really done a number so I will start looking for a replacement. I don't tend to buy gates new as they don't last but this one has been with us for over 4 years so not so bad.

Shady was over for a bath and cleanup. We did his nails, cleaned up his pads and he had a bath - a regular spa day.

He was such a good boy.

But when it came time to stop the play and come in for a bath he had other things in mind.

We had to take everyone else in and suddenly he said hmmm this is boring and he came in too. I think he simply was having way too much fun outside.

This was Shady at the door when his human mom was looking at the puppies.

Do you think he was telling her, hello mom can't you see the time?

What a great personality he is. He just makes me laugh and laugh.

The crew was groomed before he arrived. They looked ungroomed by the time he went. Life happened and that's quite okay with me.

I love dawgs having fun, don't you?

Big Dog Socializing

Big dog socialization is a smart thing to do before they are too old. It gives them comfort with the bigger things in life.

It must be done in a safe and positive way but it is so beneficial.

Terra is amazing with the pups and its funny usually all through their lives they recognize the golden as a 'good' thing so it works. :-)

Terra is a gentle soul and is being extra careful not to step on them much like we have to be.

Quiet Times

Don't laugh but its rather quiet around here - no visitors - no one planned to come play for an hour or two or get a quick bath - nada so I think I will wash Wasabi and Risa tomorrow. Can't just do nothing. hahahaha

Nathan took these photos and this was Doozie running with Abigail and a pup. Blame him if you can't see faces. But I am sure you get the fun in the photo.

The pups have now reached an age that they can play with the adults and quite nicely. I can't believe in 2 weeks the fun starts to end for us as they will be in their new homes.

It's been a long time since we had a visit from Jazmyn and Marlee. You can see Marlee looking at the pup as if to say - so you want to play.

I truly believe when an adult lets a puppy play with them they bring out the fun in them. It's a riot to watch.

Risa Play

Even when you are an older gal you certainly have the fun in you if given the opportunity.

It's important to make sure you give them those fun moments and not say - well they are older. Can you imagine if people said that about us?

Risa still dances and flirts and plays up a storm at bedtime.

It's important not to treat them as if they are too old for this or that. We are what we feel. :-)

Birthday Wishes UPDATED

Sorry if this is short. We have people coming tomorrow and I have had little sleep and lots on my plates so forgive me of the blogs are short for the next couple of days.

Just got in email all these 1 year old Birthday photos that I wanted to share. Happy Birthday crew. I hope its one of the VERY best!!

Hi Everyone!

Lola had a wonderful day at grandma's, who attends to her more at times than to her human sisters. She got a lot of hugs today, as well as her favourite trachea treat.

It was great to see photos of Lola's siblings. Thank you all. She is a wonderful dog, and she has brought so much joy to our family (all 5.5 lbs of her with hair). Thank you Nathan and Darlah.

Happy Birthday to Chloe, Simba, Poppins, and Benji. What a great bunch.

Love Lola with David, Inga, Cassie, and Sylvia.

Halloween Take 3

Yes, there are 3 updates today all with the Halloween Theme. The most artistic is the Cooper guy. :-)

I am 'The Queen'. It's a riot what a barrette does.

I put it on and she started prancing around.

It may have had something to do with me saying - oh Panda you are 'the Queen' don't ya know it!

Now I am hoping Mr. Logan leaves it alone. The one I had in from yesterday he was gunning for today. :-) He has not touched this one yet and for Halloween, I thought it would be great to put a blue crown on her head.

More Halloween

Molly was just over for a bath and blow dry and trying to get her hair to stay in one place - well it's a miracle this is what I got.

I tried and tried and tried. I can tell she is a Wasabi daughter. I would comb, she would shake and it was all in fun.

I just adore her!!

Happy Halloween

Stay dry, stay safe and keep the dawgs away from the candy. It is our pleasure to share the Cooper and the creative photos taken by his owners for Halloween. Such a stunning way to celebrate the day!

Dirty Floors

How many of you have sticks and leaves, mud and wet coming in with your dog?

I know of someone that keeps a wet foot bath for their dogs in the mud room and they have to walk through it and get dried before they come in. That still doesn't eliminate the leaves and sticks.

We sweep, we vacuum, we pull out stick sand leaves from hair. We - well I groom and its as if I don't.

It's that time of year and I either yearn for dry or white snow. I will be happy with both more than THIS. Remind me of THAT!

Coco and Doozie is interesting. One doesn't mind the rain, one says - are you kidding. Bet you can't guess which.

Bet you Simbas family was loving him up today. They survived the big storm. We were also worried about Zoe's family. Its miserable outside so pups are playing inside. Big dogs are going out but I am thankful I do not have rugs. Even our front door people come in and they bring in leaves. Have to laugh. Time to have dry and actually rake those darn leaves - don't you think?

Good news is the lawn furniture is gone due to the storm. As much as I like to have something to sit on it had to go away before snow comes. Now to get my water pots in. I see they did everything but those.

Hurricane Survival

Looks like Sophie and Karen are ready for the storm.

Don't you love the selection?

We are wishing that it misses them.

They say we are also supposed to get 100km gusts. So we are praying Paula gets home from our house okay seeing she has a 4 and a half hour drive north.

Tracy, Paula, Nathan, Panda, Rumor and Envy are on the plane. Now lets hope it lands. All Ottawa planes have been halted. Fun - not.

Panda Comes to Ontario

Panda, Nathan, Paula and Tracy make their way back to Ontario. They are getting on a plane or should be on the plane now.

Panda got reserve winners bitch over 7 females at the show. There was only 7 gals (huge for us as we don't get that amount of females at once)  - - it was boys weekend I gather. She did well. We are proud of her. I bet you Mommy Lynda is anxious to see her.

More about the dogs later but just know its wet and my floors - well I have had it in the drying department. Rain, rain, go away come again another day!

PS: Remember clocks get moved back for an extra hour sleep Saturday if you can convince your dogs.

Rest

I must be good at this run down the halls, catch me and play retrieve game. We are doing a lot of it inside as the weather is bad. I am perfecting my slide on the wood floors with my socks.

The dogs don't even want to go out to do their business or take walks but we persist, They look at us as if to say - really?

So don't say you can't exercise your dogs if the weather is bad. We still do. The walks are shorter so the inside play is longer and it does take effort but they do get tuckered out.

Tre's Growing Up

From Gerda:

Hi

Looks like everyone had a great play date today. Tre completed puppy intermediate obedience today . The instructors suggested if we want to continue he could go directly to adult intermediate . Not sure I will do that yet as it is much more serious and no playtime which he really enjoys . They also think he will make a great therapy dog as he loves loves loves people . So an option to work on his canine good citizen certificate , and  we also found out that he can walk a fairly long way on his hind legs so suggested he take dance lessons. Need to retire to find the time and win the lotto to pay for classes.

I tried to take pictures at his class but he is so quick and as it was exam day not much time. The 'blur' is Tre trying to figure out how to get to his friend Molly the newf pup. So funny that the littlest made friends with the biggest.

The other photo is just after his grooming session. Is he a handsome boy or what!

Take care all

Gerda Cali Kizmet and our best boy Tre

-----------

We didn't include the blur photo as you truly couldn't see clearly - sorry Gerda. :-)

----------

Everyone here is wet and then dried and brushed and wet and dried and brushed. I am out of steam and well some hate the rain - some love it. Can the rain just go away?

We have had to find hallways to run in and play and the dawgs think I am crazy but we are having so much fun. I am just a bit tuckered out and I found I can slide in my socks quite well when I need to much to the surprise of the canines.
