3 Weeks 5 Days Old

The Leti crew are becoming some cute characters. As you can see they jump on each others back. They try to run. They roll over and boy do they love humans - and those kisses are the best!

I gave them a chicken strip to gnaw on as they seem to be teething and Mommy Leti wanted to steal it. They found it delightful to mouth them. Then they fell asleep. Leti still wants the strip and I suppose she will have 1 of them after the pups and moms go to bed. 

Leti is eating everything she can.

She is also feeding them standing up. I suppose she was tired of one or two fighting for room. 

Tomorrow perhaps food and opening up the xpen to a larger unit and putting an area for food. now to get Leti not to steal it. hahahahaha

Leti is being quite good about Saffron being here in the room.

They Are Adorable

This crew is really going to be fun. They already are. They are trying hopping and jumping already. They walk all over the place. I have now told Dennis to sleep on the couch instead of staying up as they seem to find mom and still gain. Soon they will have food and come outside the pen to play.

Over 3 Weeks Old

Pups are doing pretty good on the pad. Mommy Leti dotes over them as if they are prized posessions. They are! They want for nothing.

I hear their voices every now and then calling for mom. They are pretty steady on theor legs and at times I see them trying to run. It's a riot. 

In less than 2 weeks they too will be having their sessions out in the hall, trying food and a whole new world will open up.

Perfecting Skills

It's wonderful to watch the pups walking all over the place, looking out and making sounds when they want mom to come. They are even using the pad at times. We are starting to get them used to it by placing them on the pad each time we see them wake up and after they feed. This will condition them to using the pad but some are making their way without help. Bravo, little ones.

The pups no longer have mom's food in the pen as they kept going after it. We will get them used to food at 4 weeks.

3 Weeks Old

This crew is going to be so much fun! They are curious. They peer out looking around.

In one more week we will try them on food. Yes, that time already. We already caught one in Momma Leti's bowl. Got to love it! When Adele's litter departs, we will increase the size of their xpen to allow more room. Now that they are after mom's food we will put the pee pad where the food is as they have limited space at the moment. When Jeannie's litter departs we will increase the pen a bit more and put a couch back in here. So many changes for these little ones but they will be exciting ones!

1 Day Shy of 3 Weeks Old

Here is today's gallery. The pups have adapted to their new area quite well and momma Leti has relaxed though she does tell Jeannie no you can't come in to take care of my babies. 

The pups are eating well. They are walking really well even over the bumps of beds etc. 

I can't believe they are going to be 3 weeks tomorrow. How did the 3 weeks go by so fast?

leti remains to be a doting mom who is so proud of her babies. It is delightful to watch.

Be sure to watch the videos. they are getting bigger so creative feeding is getting explored. Sometimes leti even stands up and lets them hang on. I guess she doesn't thinj they are too young but a side feeding makes it difficult to get everyone getting a milk slot.

Two Weeks 5 days Old

Yes, I finally got the energy to move the pups into a new area (Jeannie's old area) and Jeannie's pups into the Leti xpen so they can be close to Adele's. It does take quite a bit of time but good to have the dryer functioning. It was used heavily today.

How did they do - really great. Leti is another thing. She is too busy protecting her pups as its an open area but she will adjust when she realizes she either lays in there with them or I lock the gate to keep the others out. Leti is such a great mommy.

It was time as one of the pups actually escaped. That was okay as I had soft blankets out so the plop was cushie.

Two Weeks 4 Days Old

The pups now have toys in their whelping box as they are trying to play and chew or can I say mouth them.

The pups are highly curious and can be seen peering or trying to climb out. 

I have such fun playing with them and get this they give me kisses!

We were hoping to move them out of the box tonight but it is already late and I am not sure I am up to it. Hoping tomorrow I will be.

Two Weeks 3 Days Old

Oh my gad are they cute or what! They play, they try to climb out and they are very curious about the world outside of the whelping box. I am impressed.

They continue to gain weight well and they are playful and agile.

2 Weeks 2 Days Old

The pups are doing great! They play with each other now. They practice walking and then they eat and sleep. Leti sometimes feeds them sitting up as they can find a milkstation easier.

Soon they will be comiung out of the whelping box. An indicator is when it gets too crowded or they try climbing out.
