Oh what a round one you are. hahahaha The tri gal this morning had 1 eye open refusing to open the other. By late this afternoon she decided to open the other. Yes, they can open independently.
They have just turned 2 weeks old tonight. Can you believe that 2 weeks ago we were delivering these beauties. I really can't believe 2 weeks has passed.
Leti is a great mom but oh boy do they knot up and break her hair. I have to laugh as usually it's not this bad but they have been active early on.
This is going to be such a fun crew to follow!
Four are now 1 pound plus and two sable gals are in the 15oz range. They are all doing really well!!
This is the littlest gal. She now has her eyes open. All do except for the tri gal. I suspect hers will be open tomorrow or late tonight.
Here is the sable boy.
I love this boy. Look at his face as if to say - really you stopped me from eating for THIS!!
This is the 3rd born gal.
Do you see all her colour bleeding through? 1st eyes open and she kissed Nathan when I took photos of them in this gallery. Be still my heart! This is last born.
We have 2 updates today!
The Leti pups had their nails cut. See the video. They were easier to do than the Jeannie duo. Nathan will do the Adele pups in a day or so.
As you can tell this crew often sleeps on their back. They are way comfie. I did get a few photos of them in the scale bowl while I was weighing them. They are in the gallery. I am sure you have noticed they have become nice and plump.
Since the pups just turned 10 days, they were getting up on their legs and attempting to walk. Wow. They are determined little things. I will try to get another vodeo of this but its pretty dramatic to watch. If they are hungry, they are motivated. Of course they can't walk well. It's more like a drunken walk but this is early and funny to watch.
Can't wait till their eyes open!
Here is the gallery of individual photos. I will try to get better ones but I was on my own as Nathan was doing the magazine - getting it out today.
When I do it with Nathan I will do it in birth order. :-) I should have done that today.
They are beauties and they are trying to walk. I just laugh. You early little things you make me laugh!
Can you believe it was 9 days ago that these beauties finally decided to make their debut? The smallest pup is now 10 ounces. They are growing like crazy and as you can see in the videos they are strong and active. Got to laugh at them. It's unusual that they can climb over mom at this age and they have been doing it for days.
I am going to try to take individual photos of them in the next couple of days. They are really pretty pups.
Pups are gaining. They are rolling on their back, climbing on mom and doing pileups or not.
They are now plump little beauties!!
Leti started out very protective over her babies. We had to put blankets around her xpen so she felt her babies were safe. She relaxed as the days passed. Now the blankets are down. Most times the door is open. Not always open as Jeannie at times tries to go in. But there is a level of relaxing that is nice.
By tonight the littlest will be 8 ounces doubling her weight. She started gaining vs. losing after she had 2 significant bowel movements. Then it was all up hill with gains. She was always strong. I just think she was constipated and that happens. Leti as a matter of fact was too. She no longer is as well. Pups or humans won't eat when they are backed up. A bit of formula cleared it all up.
Interesting tidbit is usually after whelping moms have very loose stools. Not Leti. Less back end washing due to this but glad a week later her pups are blossoming and are on track weight and mobile wise if not above the curve in their movement.
Leti - you make great pups! I can't wait till they open their eyes!
