Pups Are Coming

Click on Photo for larger ViewFirst one born is a dark sable girl. She will lighten up some as she dries. She weighs 4 oz 114g. This is small but we have had smaller with Fiona. She was born at 325pm

Vet called - said 4 oz for a small gal is not bad. As long as she is active, Dennis just won't get any sleep at night. You will see in the videos she is indeed active!! Leti moves and she hangs on to eat. You go girl!!

I am starting to upload videos. You will have to look for them here.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewNext one was born at 420pm and he is a boy. He is dark brown with tan points. He weighs 4-3/8oz 126g

Click on Photo for larger ViewThird one was born at 438pm and she is a girl - another dark sable. She weighs 4-5/8oz 132g

Click on Photo for Larger View4th one was born at 457pm. He is a boy and weighs 5-3/8oz 152g He is a dark sable. We will assess colours after they dry.

5th one born at 508pm and is a tri as she has tan legs and appears black and white. She has a perfect balanced mask. She weighs 5-1/8oz 148g Yes, another girl.

The 6th one born is a girl. She was born at 633pm. She is a tan and brown. She weighs 5-1/8oz 146g

Pups came so fast that I had a hard time multi-tasking between feeding adults, helping with whelping, photos and laundry - it was CRAZY but we made it and best yet Leti made it.

She gave us 6 pups, 4 girls, 2 boys. She had all her pups between 325pm to 633pm.

All pups are eating and doing well. I just finished cleaning Leti's back end and I will be uploading a gallery and more videos.

Leti - you are amazing. More in a bit.

Leti Getting Closer: Getting Into Position

She's frantic and nesting like crazy and she threw up. Signs she is heading into Stage 2. Pups are not in birth canal yet but she is pushing at times. Nathan is taking a nap. I tried to but as frantic as she is, impossible.

Here's a video.

They are getting into position. Poor Leti has vomited bile a number of times. I keep exchanging the towels for new ones. This is normal.

Here is the latest video of Leti.

Can hear pups heartbeats. She is pushing at times but its not close yet. That can change anytime but it will be today!!

Poor thing is pushing. The not fun part starts till the 1st is born.

Temps Still Down

Her temps are 97.9 so she has not had a true rise to normal temperature. She kept me up all night and I mean all night so even if she has them during the day, I am trashed. Pups are NOT in position yet. No contractions yet.

A temperature of 101 to 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit (38.3 to 39.2 degrees Celsius) is typical and normal.

There is no concern unless she has contractions and pups are not coming. That is not the case. She is just staying in stage 1 a long time. I console myself with the fact that the longer they remain, the larger they grow.

Now I hope she at least waits till the afternoon as I have too much on my plate this morning.

Leti does not do anything by the book. It is what makes her interesting but at the moment I am frustrated as I think I am simply so very tired.

So stay tuned!

Update

Around 5:15 her temp dropped to 97.9

When it bottoms out to 98 or 97.9, then you have about 2-12 hours.

Her temp is now 98.6 so it is on its way back up.

She's passed the 2 hour mark so if it holds true it could be 5am. It will be a long night. She has not progressed into Stage 2 or 3. So what we start at 5am after a full night of no sleep? Think I will go to bed now with her and get a half hour before the rest come up. lol

Temps Dropped Again

Her temps are at a new low 97.9. I believe we will have pups probably at 2am. hehe

This is her nesting in Jeannie's xpen. I have to say Jeannie is very tolerant.

This is her nesting in her whelping box.

Leti is indeed nesting and not eating now.

By the way we call her Lettice Rowbatham. See her video. The lady we called her after is a quirky talented posh violinist. If you look at her later videos she has evolved but Leti is also a fun dog and so the nickname.

Slowly Losing It

Leti was down to 98.2 this morning. She is now back up to 99. She doesn't do anything normal but she is driving me insane. No progress. Usually with this drop she should be going into labour today. We wait but she is trying to covet Jeannie's pups including cleaning and allowing them to mimic feeding on her. She doesn't want Adele's pups - just Jeannies and Jeannie doesn't know quite what to think of it.

I am fried but stay tuned.

Game Playing

We went to the Apple store for a repair on Nathan's ipad. From my experience they give you a new ipad mini 2 for a bit of a cost and a 90 day guarantee. That is what he went for and his ipad is/was in rough shape. They marked mine as EXCELLENT. They marked his as good but it had a chip in the corner. His was covered by a case which he now tells me he needs a new one. have to laugh. The screen looked like 20 million footprints were on it and it never seems to clean. He got yet another anniversary present. LOL

We did go out to eat around the corner. I had 2 drinks. Oh boy - Nathan nothing. Dennis said no signs. We are home at 630pm lol. Her temps is 99.5. I just checked and she just started nesting. We will see how it goes. I am glad Nathan got his ipad fixed.

Tonight, tomorrow - time will tell. But I have a lot to groom tomorrow - not necessarily easy coats so what is your guess - 2am? if its not tonight please after I finish grooming - please. It is so hard to juggle - grooming and whelping and dogs. give me a shot of super human powers, will ya?

Going Down or Up

Leti's temp is sitting at 98.8. Will take it in a few hours. Looks like the anniversary celebrations is out. :-( I may also be cancelling groomings on Sunday. Stay tuned.

Usually Sunday is off other than boarders but was taking today off for the anniversary and instead scheduled for Sunday. If we are going to have an all nighter, I will be too dangerous with the scissors.

Is this braxton hicks or the real thing? Stay tuned. She's napping now with Nathan!

Oh Fun

Tonight her temps was 100. She did not eat. This is how you figure out labour is impending.

1. They USUALLY stop eating. She did not eat tonight but ate plenty today.

2. They start digging and nesting. She is not doing this. There is a difference between the nesting that dogs do to fluff up the blankets. This is more on a mission type of thing.

3. Their temps drop to 98.0-98.3. Sometimes high 97s. When temps drop it is 12 to 24 hours away. The issue is if you are not checking temps a ton of times you may miss the drop. When it starts rising it's within 12 hours. That could mean an hour from now or 12 hours from now.

So we wait.....

100.1

Oh Leti - are you bound and determined to do this on our anniversary? She ate with gusto this morning.
