Almost Over

In 2 days Adele will be tested to see if her heat has passed.

Here's a fun video of Adele playing with pups when she was little. No, I won't tell you whose litter it is but you probably can figure out by the date uploaded. Want to know if the owners recognize their little ones.

5 More Days

In 5 more days Adele is finished her heat. How did that go by so fast? Roxie is still on day 8 and I assume that day 9 is when she will connect. Time will tell.

I look forward to having Adele back in bed with me. As it is Dennis has been sleeping with the girls in heat. Jeannie finishes in 2 days and today she walked through the crowd and they didn't really react. We wait and test to be sure. Roxie and Spice will remain with Dennis for another week past Adele's finished date.

I miss them as the moms like to be near me around this time. 'I have no doubt Adele is pregnant as her discharge stopped when she came home which seems to be normal for most when they are preggie.

I have so much to do including staining and replacing boards on the deck. 60 days goes by way too fast.

Let the Games Begin

As Jeannie is out of her cycle come the 7th and not bred, she is beside herself quite literally. She tried to tell Adele she is the boss since Adele arrived home. She keeps trying to mount her and put her head over her and usually Adele just ignores it but now she says Jeannie, I don't think so. No fights. Just words to knock it off. Jeannie persisted till I finally had to say ENOUGH Jeannie as one can only comb out a coat so much and dear old Jeannie was doing a number on Adele's coat. Not that the pups wo'nt but after cutting it back after she stopped showing I would like it to come back so I may be tying it up when she has pups. Inula did a real number on Adele's coat as they play TT style. We shall see how it all unfolds. If not, I will shave it down and start anew. Sometimes after pups it is better vs just cutting off length as I did with Jeannie. A closer cut allows the coat to come back without pups mauling it.

I believe they know when the other is bred and is pregnant. When a gal is pregnant they have status. They literally strut through the others as if to say I am special. They do that after having pups too. Its interesting to watch. Spice is such an easy go gal that to her it doesn't matter. She will find fun in helping out the others.

Roxie ignores them all quite literally as if to shake her head at such silliness. The dynamics have changed since Adele has returned but the gals are still segragated into my office. In 4 days Jeannie gets to be in with the rest. Roxie and Spice won't be able to hang out with the rest till the 17th/18th. Adele not till the 10th.

Adele is enjoying her status and I imagine Roxie and her will become very close like our moms do when they share having litters at the same time.

Did anyone see the video I posted on yesterday's entry? I thought it was a fun one.

Results are In

Prime time to do first breeding is between 15.0 and 20.5. Adele is 20.1. Today should be the first breeding. They are on their way in bumper to bumper traffic. It is a holiday weekend so everyone is off to the cottage. Hoping it breaks up after the split to go to Muskoka and Sudbury.

Nathan is still not there due to traffic. It is taking 6 plus hours. I hope he has a breeding tonight. If not, tomorrow.

Last Progesterone

Nathan gets another progestetone tomorrow. This will help us know the due date as well. Paula expects him at 7 so we best get the results by 230. hahaha

I will post the results and what they mean when we get them. Nathan will stay the weekend. I suspect I will see him Sunday night.

Well, that's the plan.
