Girls Rules So Far

This is the 2nd pup that has her eyes open. Here is the gallery of her eyes wide open poses. Pups are doing well and we are getting excited about the boys now opening their eyes.

The pups are now 2 weeks old - wow! Here is another gallery. You will see one of Jeannies in with them. I put her in there to show you how much the Adele pups have grown with a week older under their belt of feeding.

Soon they will be out of their whelping box as soon as they try to climb out. 

No More Eyes Yet

I can't believe this is day 13 already. No one else has their eyes open but a couple have slight cracks visible.  Meaning their eyes will probably open tonight or tomorrow.

These pups are chunky monkeys. Every day I comb out the moms and every day they end up a mess from the pups. Got to laugh. 

The gal with her eyes open already looks forward to me holding her. How fun is that?

First Eyes Open: More Added

The 1st one opened her eyes wide open. Bravo little one. The rest - no signs yet.

Got to love the way they get comfortable.

These pups need to get moving even more. They are fat, fat, fat!

Still no one else has their eyes open. They do accelerate their movement after they open their eyes but it usually takes a few days. When they first open their eyes are blurry and each day they get clearer. Over a few days they get to see you better and better. Their ears usually open too at this age. That means they start reacting to sound. A whole new world occurs for them and an exciting one at that.

Nails and More

The pups had their nails done today as the nails were getting caught in the blankets and in the towel I use in the scale. It was time. Here is the gallery from the nail cutting. Plus here is the video of the nail cutting. 

The pups are now 11 days old. How did that happen?

Pups are now attempting to stand on their legs and do the walk. They are getting pretty good at it. Soon their eyes will open and their world will change. their activity level will increase and you will enjoy the videos, I believe.

All pups are over 1 pound now. they are fat and healthy. They will slim down as they start walking.

10 Days Old

It's hard to believe its been a full 10 days ago that we welcomed this crew. Everyone but 1 is now over 1 pound and by tomorrow all will be. Adele remains to be a grand mom.

The male above I recognize as he is white chin. Each puppy is now very easy to know who is whom. As you can see they are plump and doing really well. They have spent time each day trying to walk under the rails. They will eventually be successful at standing on their feet. Their eyes will open and we will have an increase in learning.

9 Days Old

We now have 3 pups well over 1 pound and 2 just under. Weight gains have slowed down as it usually does at this stage as they are practicing crawling here and there and strengthening their legs. They are expelling more energy.

8 Days Old

Pups are doing really well. 2 are now over 1 pound. They have started to try to strengthen their legs. It's fun to watch. Here is today's gallery.

To look at Jeannies and then Adele's it's fun to see what a huge difference they are in weight. It's amazing how much they grow in a week.

7 Days Old

We made it to the week and no one is a pound yet. It was debatable if any would make that milestone seeing they eat rather well but a couple are probably going to hit that mark tomorrow.

We gained well. Adele is eating well and yes she is getting her daily massages and combouts. 

The pups are getting good at moving under the rails. it's a riot to watch. Be sure to watch the videos.

Edging Up on a Week

It's a day so the blogs will be short. Between rain and grooming I am left with little time for anything so bear with me. Here is the gallery.

Pups are getting fat. They are eating well. Momma Adele is so proud!

5 Days Old Tonight

I could never groom like I do if the pups weren't doing so well. I always have a camera so I can watch but still. I find myself yelling one puppy is not on - can you take care of THAT! or I just go do it myself and get back to grooming. It sure makes for a very full day and I have a few more days of this schedule. Playing catch-up after pups is always interesting.

I comb out Adele every day but she won't have a bath till the pups are 2 weeks old or they are sleeping for at least 90 minutes. I need that window between feedings to get her done. 

Pups are gaining. Sometimes they are eating with smacking gusto. I just laugh and am thankful they are doing so well.
