4 Days Old Late Tonight

Pups are doing really well. The largest now is 12 ounces and the smallest is 10 ounces. Smaller boy is shorter in length of body. 

I am not going to put the weights up daily. I will let you know here and there but they are all eating well and gaining. 

Mom was weighed today and she is now 12.5 lbs. I suspect as the pups get bigger she will lose a bit more. She is eating about 6 to 8 times a day - yes that much so these little ones can gain. It's a crazy process but we find small meals throughout a 24 hour period is better than a very large one 3 times a day.

The pups are gaining, active and enjoyable to watch and hold. Adele is great. She feeds, cleans and caresses them and then she eats, sleeps and regains her energy. It's a healthy balance. It's nice that they are sleeping well between.

If my math is off blame it on being tired. But this gives you an idea. I take weights twice a day or more frequently if I need to. Gains are great!

They are strong. They are eating well and sleeping well. Adele is eating steak and chicken and all the things she wants. She deserves it.

Over 24 Hours Now

Gallery coming later. Pups had a great night under Dennis' supervision. He is sleeping now and will be up for the 8 week Safi visit. Not sure we have recovered yet. The term punch drunk comes to mind. 

All pups have gained. The smallest boy is 7-2/8oz and the largest is 9oz even. These are great weight gains. Adele is getting picky now. She wants steak or maybe shawarma. Maybe I will get some and share. :-)

Three Updates: Weights Added

Pups are now all almost 8 hours old and every single one has gained. Adele has eaten 3 huge bowls of mousse, ice cream - vanilla, baby bell cheese. She is eating well. Last night at 930pm she ate and I went oh oh as you can have them confused with pushing and have output you don't want. But when she started in on hard labor she threw up all over my comforter and I wasn't fast enough so we are washing that. Glad she got it out of her. Better that way than the other during delivery.

Here is another gallery. I am also uploading a video and you will hear one of the pups purring and you may be able to hear them eating. My dryer was going on in the background. There is always so much laundry after birth. I also ended up washing Adele's back end twice - after #4 and after #5.

Two Updates Today

Click on Photo for larger ViewShe had a very easy delivery but I have had no sleep and we have a full day today. It will have to be takeout food or something today. Adele had 5 beauties - not 4. 3 are boys, 2 girls. All look similar but waiting till they dry with the exception of 1 who has really interesting markings. All are beautiful, eating and lively. The birthing was easy for pups and mom.

Nathan is going to try to sleep from 515 to 730am. Then he will take another nap before the vets. Me, I will just zombie my way through the day. Dennis is sleeping in the tv room with the dogs. nathan has no dogs so he can sleep soundly.

Off to Bed

Her temps are holding at 99. something or other. She is nesting but I am going to bed in hopes I get some sleep (doubt it) and she waits till morning. We shall see.

We have an awfully busy day tomorrow - go figure. Nathan mumbled - one day at a time. hahahahaha

7 PM Temps

The temps are now up to 99.5. You just watch 2am. Nathan has to go to the vets with 3 pups so wouldn't you just know it? No other signs yet. 

Temps 256PM

You are not going to believe this but I had to go outside and figure what plants need to come in as it seems it was imperitive today according to an unnamed person. So, I took the pups out, took Adele out and lined up plants that had to come in and said the rest are dying - ok. 

Adele seemed to like being outside as long as I stayed with her. She is now resting. She has not had a temperature change so it means later. Watch 2am and get this on Spicy's birthday - of course. 

We came inside. Adele nested. I took her temperature. Now I sit here typing and watching. Nathan is napping with some of the dogs.

It's cold outside. When did that happen? Nathan has to get food in the house - but I think its canned soup or takeout and delivery. heh
