19 Days Old

They are now 2 days short of 3 weeks. How did that happen? They are more active now. They are perfecting their walk. They can smell mom when she gets near the box and now they can see her. Jeannie had a bath today so I wonder if Mommy smells like Mommy.

They light up when they see me but they also light up for Sarah. It's wonderful!

I have a ton of brown bleeding through. I may look black but I won't end up black. Pups are now animated. They are cuddling with toys and playing with each other. They are truly getting fun. Videos tomorrow except for one.

17 Days Old: Updated

Jeannie pups are now starting to engage in rudimentary play with each other. You will see it in some of the videos. It's nice to see the interaction.

I am glad they are getting interested in their surroundings. I meant to put toys in the whelping box. I will try to hint for some that are interactive or interesting tomorrow. Now it is blog time.

If you notice they are now sleeping on their backs more often. Life is changing.

Here is the gallery.

16 Days Old

It's been a frustrating day for a number of reasons but the largest has been struggling to upload videos and not being able to update here. It appears that things are 'starting' to sort itself out but it's now going on 8pm and I can't spend the next 2 hours updating so we will have short updates. Sorry.

Here's a video to get you by.

It's all I can muster.

Pups were crying today - 1st time as it reached 89f in this room and they were not happy. Heck, I wasn't happy. I actually opened my window to cool it down. Pups cry when they get too hot. It's now 82f and they are much happier. Me, still not so much. That's another reason I am too crabby to finish my uploads and do a lot of links. Tomorrow I am hoping for a less stress filled day.

One video per blog and we will play catch-up tomorrow.

Pups are starting to move those legs at times. Not as much as the Spice pups but they are starting to test their legs.

Last Eyes Open: Videos Added

I am the last one to open my eyes. I am cute and I know it.

Here's the gallery.

Have to catch them when they are awake but they are attempting to walk. Right now I find I am picking up liny constant;y. What is the lint in Jeannie's pen? Her hair. When they eat, they are taking chunks out - well not chunks but enough that when I take the videos, you go what is that in the whelping box. Oh - Jeannie's hair. Jeannie has so much hair that she could stand to lose some. :-)

We are still being lazy. Okay. we are trying to walk but really eating and snoozing is just fine too.

The gal has 1 eye open. What only want to see half the world?

I can't believe they are 2 weeks and the gal is starting to get mobile. Now to get all 3 with eyes open. A whole new world awaits them.

Here is today's gallery.

Day 13

Tomorrow they reach the age of 2 weeks. Wow. Still only 1 has his eyes open. The other 2 will open later today or perhaps tomorrow. We shall see. When we have 3 with eyes open the activity level will change. Exciting times are coming.

Here is the gallery.

It's going to be interesting to see all of them together. By months end they will all be going upstairs and sleeping at night. Moms will be back in bed and Dennis will be back in bed. They will also have already been outside on the deck playing.

I want to get some new equipment for them. New exposures are always fun. Someone gave me an idea for a wobble board/ramp. I just have to find one here in Canada.

Here it is:

Yes, its a weight loss system but it comes with this wave device that some are using with pups and it works. You put it one way and it rocks and you put it the other way and they can walk over it. If you know where to get it cheap, let me know. I googled but haven't found it yet. I saw some other pups on it and it was a pure riot so for mke it is a must to get.

Eyes Open

First one to open his eyes. Sarah saw it first. I always selfishly like to be the first but so glad Sarah had the experience. In a few days after eyes are open they start really moving and exploring. I will have to add toys.

12 Days Old

Here is today's gallery.

Pups are starting to crawl from here to there but no signs of open eyes yet. It's a game around here - who gets to see the eyes open first. Exciting new things happen when their eyes open so we are anxious.

Pups across the board now let moms know that it is feeding time. This allows the moms to relax more and just listen. It gives them balance.
