3 Weeks Old

The pups are now 3 weeks old this morning. I am amazed at how much they are changing. They are now walking better, playing more and the waggy waggy tail at you is occurring. I even get kisses on my eye lids. It feels incredible. So far the pistol and most inquisitive is the little white ring and the most laid back is the black and white. The two dark ones are a tag team duo often found playing with each other. I love each for different reasons but no slouches here. None in Adele's crew either.

They are also using the pad more and more.

Here are the videos.

First Out of Pen

I decided that all puppies depart their xpen so I can clean it up properly. Trying to clean and move puppies constantly doesn't work so now they also get conditioned to being outside the xpen. They actually did pretty good considering they are not real strong on their legs yet but they are getting there.

Pups LOVE that pink thing in their xpen. I want to expose the Adele pups to it but the Rox pups love it so much, it remains. maybe when we get both pups together they will experience it.

Pups are now so delighted to see us come in, lay down and say hello. they just find it to be a delightful experience.

Here's the gallery today.

Almost 3 Weeks: 19.5 Days

Pups turn 3 weeks soon. They are practicing walking but at this stage they don't stay up long.  Here's the gallery from today. Due to rain, I am very late for updates. I had baths to do for others and a ton of clean up with dogs going in and out and floors, well we won't talk about those. But here I am now updating.

Nathan is out getting a haircut and Dennis and I are holding down the fort.

The pups wag their tails when I climb in to say hello. What a feeling that is! When they eat and lay on their backs its as if their tummies spill out on each side of them. heh

Day 18

Have to check when we took the Adele pups out of the pen but today is the day, I believe for the Roxie crew. It won't be till after Dennis is up. He carries things upstairs that are removed. :-) I suppose I could do it all myself but why. Got Nathan to carry the box upstairs but Dennis will take out the heat lamp etc. as its no longer needed.

Okay, I did it myself and took video. They are doing really well and it appears they are making use of more landscape to play. Bravo. Though Roxie is watching those other pups between the pens as if to say, will you be okay with MY babies?

It is like magic. More space, more working those legs. I do believe this is the right timing. They get exposed to so much more when outside of their whelping box. We used to wait till later till they started climbing out of their box but I am finding this more aware of the surroundings a positive thing.

Here's some videos showing you their pre and after change experience.

Such Characters 17 Days Old

The pups are starting to have their personalities come through. They love to see you and soon they too will be out of their whelping box. It's not that they need to but it does expose them more to outside activity. It will also expose them to the Adele pups. Can't wait till we can get them all together as one group.

Here's the gallery from today

They have started to play with each other but they are sleeping more than the Adele crew.

We are making sure we love them up each waking moment. It's a tough job. heh

16 Days Old

Pups are starting to get interactive. It's nice and they sure seem like they went from zero to 90 in a split second when it came to weight gain. They just simply feel more substantial and they look that way too. They know Mommy. They do waggy tail to see her. I swear Roxie is saying of course they are. They are my kids! Here's a small gallery.

Each day you will start seeing more and more play as you did with the Adele litter. They too will come out of their whelping box and be able to stare into the other pen to see the other pups. It will be the first stage of getting them conditioned to each other.

Eyes All Opened

15 days old and all eyes are open. Now they will start getting used to their surroundings. It's going to be fun.

This is going to be a short update as I have serious grooming for others to do and I am going out. It means the blogs will suffer. They may suffer tomorrow too as I won't be home recording videos. That's okay. We will play catchup and maybe you will notice some changes then.

Here is the weights on the Pups:

Pup 1 under vneck 1-5-6/8 oz

Pup 2 brown no vneck 1-6-6/8 oz

Pup 3 ring on neck 1-3-3/8 oz

Pup 4 black and white tri with eyrbrows 1-4-7/8

Pup 3 wil still be small but at the moment he is round.

Two Weeks Old: More Eyes

Later on I will post some eyes open photos but the tri boy (black white and eyebrows) is still at that just above a squint and the littlest boy has 1 eye totally open and the other trying to open or not. Another also has the eyes opening. Can you believe they are 2 weeks old? By next week they will be roaming around like Adele's pups. Going to be a fun adventure.

Tomorrow a gallery. Today I am so far behind I decided not to drive myself crazy. So videos and more photos tomorrow.

Yes, we are 2 weeks old today and we have eyes opening. The littlest one was taken out and shown to Chases dad who came today. No shakes, no yawns. Oh is this what the world looks like? When they open their eyes they do have blurry sight but each day the blur goes away. Still, they can react to changes. So far both litters are doing really well in this regard. Heck, they have had dogs jumping up to kiss them and didn't react. Bonus!! We will see how things go as we progress. There is always something they hesitate about and you want them to as that is what cultivates their coping skills. They can't believe they are invincible. :-)

I have been way busy today. Danielle was driven by Nathan to the airport (Daughter was at a conference) at 5am so all of us got up and so we remain. Nathan got in a nap. Me, not so. I have to admit its 5pm and I am crashing but this too shall pass. Danielle being able to go to New York - well that does my heart good.

Puppies are wonderful and yes the black and white one still has slits. Tomorrow I bet all eyes will be open.

Puppies are going longer between meals now. Sometimes its 3 hours and I go oh my gad are they alright but I am watching them even when I am grooming on my pad.

Best thing I ever did was get these cameras. Need one more but the humans roll their eyes here when I say I need one. But I want one upstairs and still have one at my door. Usually I lose the one at the door but really I need one at the door as I need to know if its someone trying to sell something or someone that warrants answering the door especially when I have a dog wet on the table as they have to be wrapped up and the door answered.

One Eye Open

My Eyes Are Still ClosedDid you know eyes can and do open independent? That is what is going on with the black and white. One eye is more than a slit open and the other closed, I bet you both will be open tonight. No one else yet. It's happening soon.

Tomorrow the crew is 2 weeks old. The white and black boy still just has one eye a little more than a slit opened. Maybe by late tonight or tomorrow. As you know life changes once their eyes open.

The boy above is the fattest but shortest in body and size. He also appears a bit lighter than his 2 brothers. He seems to have more apricot in him at least at this point.

Pups are sleeping longer, eating well and the one above was carried outside with Nathan today for a moment as it was rather warm out today. The black and white one from Adele was also carried outside. Here is the gallery.
