Having Pups

As you can see we are actually having pups. We will be posting here as they come.

Large photos later...

The first pup is a girl weighing in at 6.35oz 180grams born at 10:08pm

Second is a gal born at 10:24pm weight 6.05oz 172grams - brown and cream.

Third one is a boy born at 10:36PM apricot sable. Weight is 5.60oz and 159grams

Waiting for next but in the meantime here are the 3 together.

Next one arrived...

This one is cream and gold. It's a boy who arrived at 11:14pm. He weighs 5.50oz 156grams.

Next one is a boy. We are feeling to see if there is a six. We are missing a placenta so we shall see. This boy was born at 11:41pm so all on the 17th. He weighs 6oz 170g He is a tri. Looks black but he is indeed a tri. He has tan and silver and white and what appears black but he is wet. Tomorrow will be telling.

Surprise she had 6 pups - another boy born at 1239am. He weighs 5.75oz 163g. He is indeed a black, and tan tri.

Dennis said he will do the night shift. I will be up at 6am. He will be sleeping all morning. We have 2 sets of pups to take care of. Now to clean up the pen, wash Roxie up and head to bed. I am up in 5 hours.

Here are the 5. Three boys, 2 girls. Will get a photo of the 6 up now. The larger ones will go up tomorrow along with all the birthing photos.

Now we are done. 4 boys, 2 girls. All over 5 plus ounces. All lively and eating. Roxie is cleaned up. The last placenta is out and we are sure there are no more pups. Those that said 6 - you were right!

More in the late morning when I catch my breath. Poor Dennis is a wonderful being to allow me to sleep as he knows I have Pepper and Scruffy to do.

Complications

We hope Roxie has pups today or tomorrow. Seems at the very least Nathan has a funeral to attend. Early this morning Stevie passed away. I would like to go too but we shall see. We had also hoped Stevie was able to see the pups like we planned. He was so excited but not meant to be.

Always juggling and with Roxie its an unknown variable. Pups come - no issues please.

Here the cutie is watching Jeannie's pups and Jeannie doesn't mind her giving kisses through the xpen. It says a lot about their relationship.

We listened to heartbeats this morning. It was fun!

I think the Roxie is just teasing us and will hold out to her last date. She knows how to get all the focus on her!

Nothing Yet

I think it was a false alarm. Although she had a temp drop, she was grunting, nesting and has been doing so off and on and not eating again I think we are close but not yet. All this rushing for nothing. Here I thought 2nd one faster. Nah... Should have waited till a head crested - silly me.

We did have a long night.

Usually I am not off. I am usually bang on but I announced this when she stopped eating, was making uncomfortable sounds and nesting which is usually stage 1 labor. She did rest last night. She is looking for food so maybe the vet saying to me no later than the weekend played with my head. So we are still on watch. Fun...

To Bed

We are going to bed. A part of me hopes it was Braxton Hicks. She can keep us on edge tomorrow not at 3am please.

Today

We will be having puppies today. She is in first stage labor and Nathan is at a meeting. He says he can't hear our phone. I said HOLD it and do vibrate if you want to be here.

Well he is back home and it was a good meeting. Roxie is still in stage 1 and I am feverishly brushing everyone. It is rather insane, I tell you. This way if I miss tomorrow I am okay.

I am now eating a lunch and trying to do blogs - whatever I can.

Jeannie is eating up a bunch of breakfast sausages and Roxie won't eat a thing but likes smelling it. That is typical. You really don't want her to eat when she has to push.

Doesn't she look so tired already? I am hoping she naps.

Not Yet

This was Roxie resting a bit ago. I went to take her temps and she wasn't happy. For the first time it felt very uncomfortable to her so I am not going to do it again. I will watch for other signs. I can feel a puppy in place but no temp drop. I may have missed it. She is nesting in a bed but no other signs yet. Nathan has a meeting tomorrow so guess when it will be. Well, he thinks so.

We are mostly ready. I have to print out the charts to take times, temps etc. There are 3 pups on each page so I guess 2 pages for this one.

The Number is In

Click on Photo for Larger ViewWe went to the vet as you know today. She thinks before the weekend ends. So we are feverishly getting everything ready.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewThey are very calcified and one is actually in position. How many? I know you wanted me to tell you that FIRST. heh

Well we are expecting 5. Thats what Panda had last time. As you know Roxie only had 2 but she didn't actually have a connection. I know it sounds impossible but it is true. It's called he was close and close enough but not for many to swim and implant themselves.

I have blogs to do. So many may be short. Trying to get done so I can go out to eat before I am eating at a whelping box. :-)

Vet Visit Tomorrow

Today I get to hang out with Jeannie and wag my tail at her pups through the xpen. Jeannie minded at first - not terribly but she wanted to know what I was up to. So, I wagged my tail, gave kisses through the spaces to the pups and Jeannie relaxed. I love the pups. She was even comfortable when I watched her feeding her pups.

Tomorrow I go for an xray. But Mommy is going out with Lynda (first time in forever) so the xrays may or may not be up before she goes out. We shall see. It is going to be fun seeing how many pups I am having.

Mommy has already started taking my temps as my first due date is September 13th. That means it is 2 days before and up to 2 days after. My last due date is September 19th and that human mom is hoping for that. That means Jeannie pups will be almost 5 weeks and will be eating food. That will make it easier on that human Mommy and human brother Dennis. Here is hoping!

All I know is she best finish getting things ready. hahahaha
