Photos Late in Day

I am not feeling well and it seems all those photos I took earlier I deleted by accident. I do have some videos. Check them out here.

So this is a no photo day - argh. okay, found enough time to get a few photos so not all is lost. Here is the gallery.

Pups are doing well. Christine had a lovefest with them when she dropped off Farley and Clarity.

The pups really enjoy this warm weather. It is time to open the pool so it is ready when it is really warm.

Edging up on 7 Weeks

It was too wet for the pups to be outdoors today so they had play sessions in the familyroom and upstairs. they had a blast.

They are now eating a mixture of softened kibble and starter mousse. This is the start of transitioning to hardened kibble (Fromms). By the time they go home they will be eating Fromms (we send home a bag with you) and you won't have to soften it.

Here is the gallery.

The pups are really fun to watch. I am glad that we are getting them outdoors but not happy that we are back inside once again due to the rain.

We are still having internet issues so videos are going slow but I am uploading them.

Be sure to check them out here.

Pups play hard then sleep then eat.

We head to the vet on May 3rd for a checkup, vaccines and microchip. I feel like they were just born.

Rain Go Away

It's about to rain and we got our play in as soon as the human mom returned. Dennis was here and had them out in the family room but no photos. So, Moxie arrived and then we headed outside. Now it looks like rain, rain, rain and they tell us that means we will head upstairs for our next play session vs. outside. Just when we were really enjoying the fresh air.

See the gallery.

People already had chain saws going, lawn mowers and all sorts of things. It made us pause momentarily and then we got used to it then we paused and got used to it as the next door neighbor was turning it on, turning it off over and over and over again. Then we had a plane fly overhead and most of us looked up to see where that was coming.

It is normal for a pup to react to a sound they do not know. Do not ever coddle but instead distract, play and when they calm down or stop reacting, hug them and tell then how great they are. This is how they learn that there is nothing to be concerned about. Picking them up and coddling only validates that there is something to worry about.

This is what conditioning is about. It could be a strange hat, a loud bang, pans falling etc.

We had a 6 week visit one year out on the deck and the next door neighbor (it was irritating) kept trimming the hedges and it was so loud you could barely hear. The pups reacted. We educated and they got proper conditioning. It all worked so I actually enjoy conditioning as it builds their coping skills.

Pups had a great time.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Outside Today

The pups went outside on the deck. We thought about clearing the last of the ice away but decided they needed that experience. So they had dry deck and ice packed to walk on. They were outside today twice and they are going out in a bit for the 3rd time. They rather enjoy outside.

They also had a play session in the kitchen.

How did they do? No concerns at all - just a desire to embrace the experiences.

See the gallery.

Some of the adults also played with them. Stone and Marco love, love, love them.

Be sure to check out the videos.

6 Week Visit Day 2

The pups knew what was going on as it was day 2. They roamed around. One even went in and out of the open crates. It was a riot. Kisses - yes they were giving kisses.

Here is the gallery.

We spread out a bit more and they had a blast. I hope the humans did as well. As I am typing at 546pm, they are still sleeping.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Two more weeks on Saturday, May 5th at 3pm we will do it again. Hopefully we can have them outdoors and we will all be enjoying the weather.

We are into the last month. They will change the most during these last 4 weeks. It's going to be fun watching them!

6 Week Visit Day 1

This is day 1 of the 6 week visit. Tomorrow we will have day 2. Pups were great. Families were great. The pups played upstairs before the visit. See the gallery.

I am still working on the videos. We have slow uploads again and 1 video sometimes takes 30 minutes to upload. We have a report in about it but that means videos take a heck of a long time to arrive. So, they will get there. I just know it will be today - just not sure when. LOL

Here is the gallery from the 6 week visit.

The pups are sleeping and will be raring to go in a few hours.

Watch for the videos here.

6 Week Bath Safi 2018

The pups had a bath. To see wet and dry photos, check out the gallery.

How did they do? No fussing from anyone. Some liked it better than others but no one disliked the experience. They also didn't mind the dryer. They napped after the baths that took longer than I expected. Not sure why. It was about 20-25 min a pup. Saffron also had a bath and I had 3 others plus comb outs.

Now I want to go to bed. LOL

Here is the gallery taken after the bath and nap.

I cleaned pads, clipped around their privates and Nathan did their nails. They feel so wonderful. I am looking forward to watching them on their 6 week visit. I am positive you are going to enjoy this crew.

I love, love, love their snuggles.

Everyone is now over 2lb except the boy. I suspect he will be too in a few days.

The families are truly going to enjoy this crew. I know I do!

Be sure to check out the videos.

1 Day Shy of 6 Weeks

Oh boy are they fun. I will tell you we had one out to meet Cooper and Spice and no fear. They are simply great pups.

Here is today's gallery.

Tomorrow we have baths, do nails, clean pads, bellies and all that fun stuff. We will take photos and then we will look even more stunning. LOL

Be sure to check out the videos.

Our uploads are going slow so they will get there when they get there. But be prepared for puppy fun this weekend!

Fun Times

The pups are delicious. They are perfecting their skills in running. As you will see in the videos, sometimes their legs go this way or that as they attempt to run their fastest. I must laugh as they are so darn cute. They improve by the day.

Here is the gallery.

Raven played with the pups. she was amazing with them. You will see her in the gallery and in the videos.

Come Friday they will have a bath - Saffron too plus my full schedule. My blogs will probably be short that day. On Saturday and Sunday their 6 week visit will occur. They will have 2 days of busy-ness and us too. I so believe you are going to love these pups. Saffron really does have outstanding pups. Ask anyone who owns them. their personalities are wonderful!

Check out the videos. We have a ton.

Pups now let us know it's time to wake up at 7am and when they want to go play. heh

They are good pups.

5 Weeks 4 Days Old

We played downstairs today as it is Dennis birthday and I wanted him to sleep in. Sometimes the biggest gifts are just staying in bed till 1pm. heh But the pups can't stay in bed till the afternoon so I had a number of play sessions with them downstairs and they had a blast. Nathan came in for a short bit but it was mostly me and the pups.

Here is today's gallery.

Canine mom is only feeding them about 3-4 times a day. The pups have teeth so I have given them teething bones... just 2 to share and so far they are sharing well. Good thing as I only have 2 at the moment.

Be sure to check out the videos.

5 Weeks 3 Days Old

The way they play is fun. Being the only boy in a sea of girls has to be tough but its okay. This play is how they learn.

They are now going up and down the ramps, slide etc. Not always with finesse but they do it.

Here is the gallery.

So far these pups are really good at night and they wait till Nathan goes to get them. Then they get up hopping all over with excitement. Then safi waits till I help them feed in the morning. It's a ritual - they wait, Safi waits.

Pups had their deworming today. After deworming I always have to clean bums till their bodies deal with it.

Pups are now coming out 3 times a day for play sessions. they LOVE it.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Looking at You

Pups are so adorable. They look at you with that look that makes your heart melt. We had fun upstairs twice today and once in the familyroom. They truly enjoyed themselves in a huge way. They did use their voices to get my attention especially upstairs. They are learning sometimes I need to take video and photos and I can't play. I put down the camera and the voices stopped and they came running to play. Oh oh.... think I need to keep doing this so they know it's not just about playing with me. Dennis had that happen too.

One climbed up on the ramp and then down the ramp. Wow - super agile.

Here is the gallery.

Due to the ice storm our internet is so slow so its taking me forever to get the videos uploaded but we persist.

Tomorrow they get another deworming. They love it so - NOT!

Be sure to check out the videos.

So Many Firsts

We had so many firsts in the last 24 hours. Let's see, they put us in a new room in a new xpen and the canine mom played with us. Then she left us to go to bed with the humans. So did the humans mom and Dennis. When you look at the videos, you can see how we did. But we stayed asleep till 7am. I heard my canine and human mom checked on us and took video all through the night. We didn't eat much. We slept.

Here is a gallery of our upstairs play.

When that human dad woke us up at 7am, we were so excited. We came downstairs and ate from canine mom and then the human mom got us food. We came down to a sterilized pen. Dennis was busy last night. He played with us right up till 11pm.

We had people who were visiting to see if they want to add a puppy to their family. The humans here decided to take us out to see how we would do. As we are just 5 weeks old, they didn't expect much but we were our usual amazing beings.

Here is a gallery.

We are ready for our 6 week visit and then some. LOL Crazy humans to think otherwise. We are Saffron pups, don't you know!

Then the next surprise was our xpen door is now closed. You see we have found out that we can escape. We do it over and over again. One of us tried to escape back in. Break out then a break in?

You can also check out the videos that the human here is uploading.

5 Weeks Old

This gal is so fun, its unreal. Nathan had this gal on his lap and she climbed up his body, walked behind him, down him and had a roaring grand time. What a fun, agile puppy.

We are going to try to put them upstairs today without Saffron. This means we will watch them on the camera but they won't have Dennis or Saffron at night from 10 to 7am. It's either going to happen tonight or tomorrow. Dennis has to sterilize the xpen and floor upstairs and that takes time. We always do it when all the puppies depart but we do it again with a new litter.

Here is today's gallery.

Looks like the 6 week visit will be divided up between Saturday and Sunday plus an extra visit for someone who lives far away. On the 8 week visit we are picking a day and that's it. Sorry - three  6 week puppy visits I understand the reasons but let's do the 8 week all together, please. Plus it's really good that you meet the other families so you can get together in the future. I really like the families knowing each other. It's nice - at least I think so.

Puppies had softened Fromms kibble today with chicken and some ate it really well. Some tasted and went okay - not now. We are starting the transition to Fromms. Mom is feeding them less or trying to. She growls them off to say eat food but they are not in the listening stage yet. All but 1 has teeth poking through. All but 2 are over 2 pounds now and 2 are in the 1lb 13 oz range despite Nathan weighing one and getting a different result LOL. They will all be over 2lbs when you see them.

Be sure to check out the galleries.

1 Day Shy of 5 Weeks

The pups had their nails done. Personalities are starting to present themselves. They played upstairs as it was too wet and rainy outdoors.

Here is the gallery.

They are simply delicious. A week from Friday they will have their 1st bath. Can you believe?

They are such a blast to play with. Kisses, snuggles, pouncing and such fun.

Be sure to check out the videos.

At least one has a tooth poking through. By visit time I suspect all will have some teeth.

4 Weeks 5 Days Old

The pups are such characters. I think by Friday, we will put them upstairs at night without mom. Dennis gets to sleep in his bed. I get a lack of sleep watching them on my ipad and Saffron will watch them too as she did last time.

Here is the gallery.

Pups are truly fun. They make all sorts of sounds. They play and sleep and eat and play again. It's wonderful to watch. The kisses and snuggles are the best!

Be sure to watch the videos.

First Outdoors

The pups had their 1st official play session outdoors. We blocked off the bottom deck. I steam cleaned the deck and the xpens. I figure after a winter season, I needed to sterilize the area before the pups can play.

Check out the gallery.

One particular gal - the lighter brown of the two was a bloody riot. She just thought this outdoor things was so fun. She jumped around, play bowed and had a great time. What a fun personality. But they were all wonderful. No fear!

Be sure to check out the videos.

I hope this weather holds up so we can do it again tomorrow.

What a fun time the families are going to have on their 6 week visit.

Awwwww Pups

Nathan took a couple of pups outside to look around. they are such laid back pups. they look around with no concern - just curiosity. It's nice!

The pups are amazing. As I was out Nathan had them upstairs by himself. It was creative videoing but you get the idea.

Here is today's gallery.

They were wonderful but Nathan didn't take photos as he is new to this and juggling a camera an an ipad was not doable. I do it all the time. LOL

I managed to take photos later. Our son Jon and Nathan are shown in the gallery with a pup outdoors.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Upstairs Day Again

Pups were upstairs today with Nathan as well as me. It was easier to take videos and photos with a little help. The puppies last quite a bit of time and really like getting out.

Here is the gallery.

Be sure to check out the videos.

The pups are sleeping longer now between meals. It makes sense. The more they play, the more tuckered out they get. I can no longer take their weights as they jump all over the place and that is typical of this age. They make me laugh.

These pups are truly wonderful. They climb in and out of beds. They are not afraid to climb down and go splat and attempt to perfect the skill over and over till they get it right.

First Upstairs Play

The pups had their first play session upstairs and they were amazing. I thought to myself, they will have their families see them in 2 weeks and wow are they going to be impressed.

See the gallery.

It was just me and the pups but I decided it was time. They are doing so well that early next week I think it will be time for them to be upstairs without mom at night and us watching on our ipads.

They are starting to drink water and are eating really well. Saffron's milk has actually decreased as it is a supply and demand sort of thing. The more they eat, the more she produces but they are eating more solids. We are still feeding Saffron huge meals as we want her to regain her weight. Moms always lose weight from feeding pups.

Saffron is such an outstanding mom. She seems to thrive as a mom and the pups so love her!

Be sure to check out the videos. I am uploading them now.
