This is Shy who is out of Truffie and Ella. Ella's litter is Sky's full sibling from a repeat breeding. I adore Sky. She is the last one in the door and does truly outstanding in obedience. I hope she is a swimmer/diver. We will find out this summer. Can you imagine, Sky, Ella and Roxie jumping in together?
Lily departed today. Rocky visited for the day. Winston and Ozzie arrived. Charlie, Ty and Tenshi are here, of course. It's a great bunch.
Sky has classes tonight. She missed 2 classes due to a delivery and then Saffron's pups. Will she manage to catch up? Will I be able to go? I still want to just nap.
Tomorrow I have 5 dogs to groom plus Raven and Stormy. So I may be short blogging it then too.
Everyone is doing well. We broke up the ice out back so dogs are safe. Humans are too.
Till tomorrow!
We have an ice storm and the vets and delaying it would mean 2 weeks and that's too late. We had the expense of vet emerg. Last night we had a serious leak in our basement that flooded the landing area. We will have to remove carpets - long overdue to be replaced but not now. We will just have cement down there till we can do that. We have a guy attempting to fix the leak. We have no water. We have a back doorknob that is a specialty item that they no longer make. We could only find 1 for 600 dollars. What the hey have I done wrong? Please February go away.
Updates are going to be late. I have an issue importing files. Since corrected. My memory card had a plastic piece out of place. See what can happen when you get overwhelmed. Silly stuff gets overlooked.
The dogs love this pelting ice - yeah seriously except Charlie. The young ones think it is a delightful amount of fun.
Tomorrow is a busy grooming day but we won't be having moments of craziness driving back and forth from the vets. We have water now. Do you know what you need water for? LOL
Dennis is sleeping. Pups are sleeping after play when they returned. I am still working on blogs with a gin and tonic - a double. hahaha I don't drink much but today I so want to jump to Saturday when we are showing off pups.
Dennis tells me the dogs had a blast. Charlie did go out after the hail stopped. Most are all over but some stay dryer under the gazebos. Best investment - honest!
I came home to most laundry being done, I am told. I have not checked. The dogs are cuddling up to Nathan in the tv room and I am blogging trying to finish the 6 that I do daily - oh boy.
Till tomorrow!
Our little Princess would like to wish her 3 handsome Princes a very happy 7th Birthday! We wish you all many many more healthy and happy years! Laci has brought us all such happiness. We’re all forever grateful to her Canine Mom, Miss Abs and as well the caring Talemaker Clan.
Hugs to All,
Laci & family.
Lacie here is a video.
Happy Birthday Ringo, Lacie, Tre and Kobe. Tre and Kobe are the only pups that we had born that shared the same sack.
Ringo is waving his paw to his siblings!!! Happy Birthday!
What a wonderful age!
From Alene: Happy 7th birthday to Shady and his siblings! Not only did Shady get a walk without boots and a coat (which he hates) he got a free birthday drink from Starbucks. A pupperchino and the barista came out to serve him!
From Me: If I have this right as I am working on memory and half asleep - happy birthday goes out to Ossi, Brie, Biggie, RUNVS and Lucy - and of course Shady! Wow 7 years ago!
We had a funny moment today. We were out with the dogs and the snow slid off of the bottom deck gazebo. The dogs scattered wondering what this avalanche was.
So Nathan brought all the dogs in and with the back door open proceeded to take a broom to the gazebo on the top deck. Off it slid into Nathan and into the house.
Ella had snowballs this morning. I was a tad irritated as I wish wet snow would LEAVE. No one else seemed to get them. I am not sure why.
I am late getting the blogs done. It has been a crazy day. Come Tuesday I have 10 pups to wash as Wednesday they head out to the vets. Saturday they have their 8 week visit.
I think I am recovering from the Saffron experience. I have a back door that closes. I haven't eaten a decent meal in days. LOL But things are getting normal.
Last night I cuddled in deeply with the dogs and at 630 Stormy woke me up then one by one they each licked my face and stood on me till I said okay, I am up. I hate it but I love it. I hate getting woken from a deep sleep with my chest getting depressed but I love that they love me enough to be affectionate and wake me up. Okay, it is to their benefit but I choose to think it's pure love. :-)
Magic was here getting ready for Chinese New Year.
May the New Year bring you everything life has to offer.
Updates will come later. I have 4 dogs to bathe and cut oh my....
Plus we had to have our back door fixed as it would fly open. It's not right still. It works but its the wrong size. It seems like we have a specialty size door knob so the handyman did a makeshift job that works till we can get the correct specialty version. Always something.
Update: The door works but it is makeshift. We had to have a door in front of it or it would fly open. Rather cold for that and we like to be out with the dogs so that wouldn't do. It was cheap and he will come back when he can find one that fits but till now we can bolt it locked and we can open it in a strange way but it works!!
I didn't get many photos but here is the gallery.
Dennis stayed up till the handyman departed so now he is sleeping till bed time. No nap for Nathan. Me, I just kept going.
The weather is changing as some of the dogs had snowballs on them. Did you hear me curse?
Charlie departed today. His birthday toy is lost outside in a snow mound, I am afraid. I am going to get him a new one. Doesn't seem fair to have it lost till the snow disappears even though I know he did something to it. LOL
Leti is probably going to be out of her heat tomorrow. That leaves poor Sage till 10 more days - really?
We have great puppy people. Thank you for the mail, the help, letting me know who I can complain to if I choose that route - all of it.
Dogs had fun today. Nathan was walking around like a zombie so he didn't take photos. I took a few and Dennis is sleeping.
I am busy from wake up time till bedtime. Nathan brought the laundry down yesterday. I looked at him cross-eyed and said I guess you are folding. Everyone can only do what they are able to do.
I can say every single dog got darlah hugs today - long ones. I made time for that. Now they are watching tv with Nathan.
Oh boy do I have grooming to do today. LOL
It is amazing how something can throw a zinger into your schedule.
Now that Saffron is this amazing being walking on water - and I actually mean that as she seems to be, I can start meshing in my usual things that I get accomplished in a day.
Ty arrived and is already finding fun with of all beings Inula. hahahaha
Nathan has missed 2 classes with Sky.
We have a back door that is broken and a handyman comes to fix it. Another money in teh sky thing but a must to do.
Tomorrow I start washing and cutting dogs down that are going home thsi weekend here and there.
Dogs missed me in bed, I am told. Nathan says it has to be the dental treats I give them. Yeah right... well it helps.
Dennis is going to sleep till midnight so I get to stay up late but then we will be back on Dennis sleeping during the day. I can get grooming done.
Last night I tried hard to stay awake and did other than some 2 minutes nods off. I got laundry done, changed pens, blogs, loving up moms, pups and got all the water bowls ready for the dogs. We like to have water bowls everywhere so they always have access to water and it is cold. We use FrostyBowlz and they are hard to get. They keep the water cold even outside in summer for 14 plus hours. Sherry and I found them at a Pet Valu on sale. She got one and I got another. If I see anymore, I will buy. They are well worth it. I like the 28 oz size and the Raven and Ella pups drink from it with no issue. Take note. But don't buy all of them up. I want 2 more. LOL
Dogs are having fun today. We are more hyman as we all got sleep. That's important and the dogs appreciate being human vs. punch drunk. We are on our way back! Imagine snuggling tonight with the pups. I can't wait! But having one on one time all night last night with the moms - priceless.
No other blog update for this one. This is Ty's 8 year old birthday.
Julie says:
Hi,
I made homemade biscuits for Ty’s 8th bday. Will pack some Friday for you guys to try.---
Want to say happy birthday to Sophie and Kona. May it be a wonderful one!
We will return to the usual update tomorrow hopefully.
Boy is it a cold one out there today. The dogs don't want to stay out long. I get that. I did go outside hoping they would be in love with the paths Dennis created. They were to a point. It's just warmer inside.
They say this cold will remain till Friday. Tenshi, without all that body weight loves the cold so. Go figure!
In and out of the snow they go.
Nathan has a torn rotator cuff. We woke up to a ton of snow. Dennis was up all night with the pups. The other son went skiing so I suggested I go out and shovel. Nathan insisted he had to. He didn't want me to. He did hurt his shoulder and he couldn't finish. It also means no paths in the back. Maybe tomorrow when the son is back. I should have bought a snow thrower or something. Oh well, the dogs jumped in and out and had a blast.
The area on both decks stayed with just a dusting of snow. The hardtop gazebos protected the area. who knew. In summer shade and in winter protection without shoveling. What a great idea it was to get them.
Dogs had fun. I am still doing a lot in the day but it will get easier or then again not with Saffron. Who knows.
I am late on blogs as I have been busy but I am sure you get it. So - short blogs but know that the dogs will sleep deep tonight. Jumping through snow is tiring but fun. It was over Sky's head in some areas.
Here is the large gallery. I went out and just clicked and clicked. The dogs who wanted to venture out had a blast! They just loved it! A couple said are you nuts, especially Saffron.
I almost fell on the deck as it iced up but I didn't so bonus. At least it would have been a soft landing.
The dogs are going to sleep tonight. They will go out in the dark with us tonight but I won't be clicking.
Harlow dropped in. Shlomo had a bath. A few went home early as the weather dictated it I suppose to their owners. They say terrible driving. Charlie also dropped in. Charlie went out and then came back in. LOL He wasn't the only one!
I finished getting the Saffron area done, did a ton of laundry and been running back and forth between adults, pups etc but much better than the last couple of days!! I think I hit my new record on what is accomplished in a day and doubt I could sustain that level of craziness. So thank you, Saffron. So far you are allowing me to regroup.
I was trying to save Shlomo's mom money but tomorrow he will be bathed. He has to. He has reached the stage that he is starting to knot despite a comb out daily. So he will be strutting his stuff tomorrow. LOL
The dogs had a ton of fun inside and out. I was cutting boxes down to put into the blue bin and Lily and Sage was having a blast in the tv room. Trouble and Sky was also being mighty silly. I didn't catch all of the play but the gallery gives you a taste of how playful they were today.
Short blogging it today. Hope you understand. I am now updating 6 blogs. Oh my!
Bria was a gal on a mission. She wanted to get back to playing vs. grooming. Can you blame her?
It's been a day. Not sure how I was able to do it but it's not over YET. LOL
Dennis handed me a puppy and said dirty bum - can you clean? I sure hope he didn't have one for the visit. I usually get the pups together in the bags. Nathan did it today and I check each bottom as I go. I just dewormed them so this sometimes happens as it changes their bowels. Deworming is preventative - not necessary as bowels have been fine but hey this is NOT the puppy blog. hahahaha
Let's see our day. We got up. We fed all the dogs. We took them out to play and Ella wouldn't eat so I said best check her temps. It was down. She had her pups in time to have the 6 week visit. Everyone left. I spent 3 hours grooming. Ella is too worried with everyone coming that she is fretting over pups.
Now I am doing blogs, Nathan is doing tv time and I am also taking care of puppies. Can I go to bed?
Still got blogs to do and pups to attend to.
Did play a fun game with the dogs. To be honest, I am not sure how I ever did but it was fun.
Till tomorrow and Saffron wait till Tuesday please!
Today I had Charlie's bath, the 2 moms baths and of course the puppies - 10 of them. Charlie I just finished. I had to do him tonight (just finished him) as we have the puppy visit tomorrow and in case Ella has plans to disturb our visit, well it was best to do him tonight.
Charlie and I have this bath business down. He doesn't like you cleaning around his eyes. If you comb him and a knot stops the comb, he used to react but now he totally trusts me to stop when that occurs and pull it apart. He says just give me a treat. I am a good boy. He is as good as gold now.
Plus he loves the Ali. He plays with a number of dogs but him and Ali play so much, he truly gets his work out.
The dogs had fun today as you will see in the gallery. They are hanging in the tv room cuddling and watching tv as I type. I miss my time in the tv time and have to make up for it at bed time.
Nathan goes to shower in the morning and I groom dogs. That's my time with them and then they play and mess themselves up. Shlomo does that every time as if to say comb me - now it's time to roll and run myself here and there. Dawgs.... they are truly the best entertainment ever!
I almost forgot this blog. Too many blogs today. LOL
It's miserable outside. It went to slush then ice and well it's lousy but its not too cold. The drop is coming they say. Across my telephone screen came the words blizzard. I said really? It never arrived.
I seem to have my cough back and all the fun that goes with it. I can't take meds as it would make me fall asleep and sleep does not come till 10. That's 2.5 hours away.
Tomorrow I wash 10 pups. I should wash 2 moms but not sure I am up to it. They were washed a week ago but they don't look it.
I count my blessings. We whelped 4 pups without any issues - no breech births. No stuck placentas.
I so look forward to bed and cuddling with the dogs. Sorry Nathan - you too but the dogs surround me literally by all sides. It's as if they put me in a cocoon. It's rather nice. Maybe if there was 2 Nathan's - nah 1 is enough.
I know, I get silly with no sleep. I need to take the 10 pups out and put toothpicks in my eyes. 2,5 hours till sleep. Ella... please wait. :-)
Sorry no gallery - nada. I had this to contend with today. Several beauties packed with snow balls and for some reason poor Willow felted up like I hadn't combed her for a month and I just combed her yesterday. I was not having fun.
Doing the math, reality is we could have pups anytime so I need to get ready for that. I am not ready in the least.
So blogs will wait.
This is Trouble getting the best of Sky - all in fun!
Dogs are using under the gazebo or on the pads as I have no more energy or time to groom. They are playing wildly inside today. I am not super human so I can't groom from morning till night. When the snow disappears, they can go out in the rain. Snow still there - no. Now watch it freeze over and then it will be too icy for them.
Ahhhh stop complaining - I know. I have Costco, Loblaws food, M&Ms food - thank you Sherry for taking me and wading through all that water - wet tootsies and all. Poor you!
Sage is no longer crying like she lost her best friend (Shes in heat and was stuck in the tv room) as she now is in the office with me and the moms and pups. Stormy and Raven don't mind. (great moms)
Xrays tomorrow. The girls are huge now.
Yes, it's a tad warmer and the dogs are having fun.
Sage is having her first heat. I guess Leti has company now. Sage is NOT happy with not being able to be with the crew. She is so unhappy she can be loud about it. Oh well... Just when I thought we had 12 more days of this and we suddenly have 21 days.
I hope you enjoy the gallery today as it will show just how much the dogs are playing. I don't always catch every moment. But this will give you an idea that the dogs were having, fun, fun, fun.
Murphy had her bath for a tomorrow departure. Thursday, xrays. Oh my.
The play is fierce inside. Poor Cinnamon went out on the deck and was frozen in position. She was too cold to move. So off I went running without a coat on to pick her up and bring her inside. That was my first experience this morning of realizing it was simply too cold for the dogs. So, we have brought them out for under 3 minutes and back in or they can use the pads.
The play was crazy inside and they appreciated not going out to freeze. Ty was visiting and he was engaged in play with Ali. Sorry no photos. By the time I grabbed the camera, they stopped. Ali is a persistent thing. She even got Oreo playing with her when he was here. She doesn't take no for an answer.
I am still doing laundry, grooming, crawling on the couch, doing puppies but nathan is doing puppies now. That couch is calling me again. My goal is to be better Tuesday night, LOL
This is Sky's first snow.
A sure sign they are too cold is when lifting paws is done.
Not sure which but I need to lay down. We have puppy potentials at 3 then I may crawl on to the couch. Will try to add a gallery or then again maybe not. Perhaps not.
Dogs are having fun. Me, not so much.
